Ironic they 'find Jesus" but didya notice that they never find morality. and if you have to "find" Jesus.. he gets lost ... A LOT!!! And where is usually found? With scuzzy people, skid row, prison, rehab, cultic churches, manipulating minsters, pimp-like preachers, etc... how come they never find jesus like at Yellowstone, Sedona, on a cruise, a walk in the forest, etc.. no no no they only "find" Jesus when they get BUSTED for their immorality and um CRIMES.

I think that her husband was a mechanism to make her appear less able and culpable for what she did. It felt very “oops I’m just a girl. I’m unable to be responsible, look I can’t even make an apology video without my husband walking me through it.” As a woman, this is completely infuriating.

At the least, she’s not even qualified to do any of this. She’s not a dietician, she’s prob never even taken any sort of courses that involve nutrition and diet/excessive, anatomy and physiology etc. it’s a sin she was trying to charge people this much money when it’s not even like she’s a licensed professional or even has any sort of training, certificates. I hope this if anything taught people that you really do have to look into people before making a purchase especially when it comes to your health.

I hate public apologies, yeah the person should apologize, but it should be directed at the person/people that were hurt, not the internet. It just makes me feel they're trying to gain sympathy. Calling this a mistake is silly. Dropping your keys is a mistake, forgetting where you left your phone is a mistake, intentionally scamming people out of money is something entirely different. Being Christian doesn't automatically a good person, I don't buy any of her BS. But congrats on the milestone Michelle, hopefully your subscribers continue to grow, you're awesome!

I think some form of official statement or apology is necessary for situations like this that become public. When an influencer victimises people and gets outed for being an unsafe person, it's not just the direct victims who are affected and walk away with hurt feelings. Unfortunately, people who are so inept emotionally and ethically to do things that warrant public apologies seldom are also people who have the skills and accountability to actually apologise effectively.

I hate that diversion so much, not only does it come off as you've grown so much over the years(when the incident wasn't that long ago), it also just groups people in with your actions based on an age range, acting as if all young people are dumb so you can come off as a child making a genuine mistake.
@TwoBs
@TwoBs Жыл бұрын
Agree. Even though one can learn a lot from 25 to 30, basic morality and knowing what’s right and wrong is still there - you’re still old enough to know better and understand possible outcomes and how others could be affected by your actions. It just annoys me to no end when people use the “I was just young and dumb” types of lines to wash away everything as if the maturity gap is the same as 10 to 15 or even 15 to 20 years old. Being in your 20s, you’re plenty old enough to know better.

Here's what I think. I think that she got into this business with good intentions of actually helping people, but then she realized that it's a lot more work than she thought. She signed up far too many people far too quickly and quickly became overwhelmed. Okay, that happens. It would be a total non-story if she had reached out to her customers and said "hey, I apologize but I won't be able to help you because I don't have enough resources at this time. Here's your money back, best of luck in your fitness journey" Where she went wrong was continuing to lie to customer's faces and tell them that she was giving them the programs that they were paying her for, refusing refunds, and blocking people on social media who were asking her legitimate questions. Then she continued to double, triple, and quadruple down insisting that this was all one big oopsy poopsie and that she's a good person who never meant to harm anybody. She's a liar and a grifter in the fact that she still has so many die hard supporters from the Christian circle simply because she name drops Jesus a few times a day is aggravating. Also, another time that she was caught in a lie that I don't see mentioned often is the fact that her and her now husband were living together long before they were married, yet she insisted that they weren't and that they were not sexually active before they got married. There's no hardcore proof of the latter but in one of her videos you can see all of his clothes hanging up in one of the bedroom closets. That, coupled with the fact that there was no video showcasing them moving his stuff in to her house, especially considering the fact that this broad films every inconsequential moment of her boring day, this is just one more lie that she is perpetuating for the sake of maintaining her facade of a chaste Christian influencer.

THE MOST DISAPPOINTED makes me how she's CONTINUING to get too much coin by charging humongous amounts of money for her "ministry" which should usually NOT cost anything ffs!!!! And if, not THIS much!! Also, hypocrisy at it's FINEST, regarding her hubby, I'm not even that long into the video, but look him up, man has been having trouble with his anger. Yeah... Oh and with money. Watch Cruel World Happy Minds video on this topic too! 👍🏼 As a Christian myself, I'm DEEPLY offended and I absolutely despise that "I'm offended" - era! Thank you so much for covering this! The more, the better! She's not taken accountability whatsoever besides what she was forced to do (court, charged by the state of Texas). Or else she wouldn't do sht!! Oh and exploiting those innocent babies is the moldy cherry on top of all this crap!! Their license to have foster children should be revoked asap!!!!!!!

@@Qrtuop it depends on your church and how you view payment, but technically no, there should be no direct monetary transaction to receive baptism. Baptism is supposed to be a gift and a covenant with God, if there's money involved, it corrupts the covenant. I mean, you essentially pay your most valuable item, your soul, so maybe that's "payment", but it's to God, not an individual church leader or church organization. This is something that, as a lapsed catholic, really drives me nuts about evangelicals: forgiveness is used like a shield, as if because they asked god to forgive them that they are now beyond criticism, even from people they have literally harmed. That's a scam in and of itself. At least catholics require this thing called 'penance,' where you DO something to repair the damage you've done, or make recompense in some way to make the community or your victim whole again. It's not perfect, but at least it's a doctrinal tenet of the damn religion. Prods could never take that kind of personal responsibility

The only valid point she made in the whole video was that she had the right to move on. She does, but that doesn't mean every person she scammed out of their hard earned money has to. All these apologies are the same. Taking accountability doesn't mean saying the words. Taking accountability means sometimes you aren't right and your actions have consequences. She chose to take people's money and not provide them a program. This was a choice that no one forced her to make so you need to accept the consequences that come with it. Being called a scammer on the internet is a slap on the wrist. This is a far cry from accountability but go live your best life Brittany cause I sure as hell won't be watching it.

exactly... if someone's religion is true, and they truly believe it is, they don't need to sell it to anyone for any reason. The fact that they're monetizing their faith is automatically a red flag. So many religious organizations have been outed for hoarding wealth and doing nothing to help people, too. It's not a coincidence that many missions are in areas of low-income and low-access, not because those are the people who need the most help, but because they're in a vulnerable position and are the most easy people to convert. If the dominant religion in your country is X and the government is tied to it, and you're struggling, and people of Y religion come and help you (usually rudimentary and temporary, often conditional on conversion with strong religious overtones instead of helping just to help), of course you're likely to convert. That's why so many people are vulnerable to scams and cults when they're in a bad place. Online religious spaces take advantage of that, and scamtastic Brittany is no exception.

@@RyuzaChuden yeah for sure, most older religions have been all over the largest swath of connected earth, and have a lot in common. It's mostly about why modern/contemporary missions choose the places they go to now, they follow the same thoughts process grift that Brittany uses. Any ideology can be used to cause harm because people are flawed. It's about doing our best as global citizens to understand and mitigate the long-term effects of it. Brittany & internet Christians, especially fundies, use something that brings comfort to people to create really toxic cycles and environments, which is really sad :(

Since when does “taking accountability” equal an apology? Taking accountability means taking action… like returning the money to unhappy customers; taking classes in how to run a successful business, etc. An apology is simply that, and frankly, people don’t have to accept an apology. They can reject it because the damage caused is too great for an apology. And where did Jesus say “go forth and baptize people in my name for cash”. Just another scam
