The key to me is if I hadn't seen Ex-Machina last year I would have really enjoyed this movie.

When you cut quickly to the side shots where one is out of focus and then quickly back again, it's kind of annoying. That's not how you use the out of focus trick.

I haven't seen this movie but it's so predictable that I figured out the plot twist before the theatrical trailer ended. Talk about telegraphing...

So this is interesting, because I thought this movie was actually better than Ex Machina which is what a lot of people are comparing it to. I actually thought they were different movies and I really think that the more people think about this movie the more they will realize that there is a lot to this film that can be interpreted different ways at it relates to the motives and the actions of Morgan. I wont say much more because I don't want to spoil things. But I am definitely going to rant about this film lol (which of course will be total spoilers) because I want to address why I think this film was different enough than Ex Machina and I actually liked it better.

It is a good movie! I,m Interested to know what you think. I am actually getting ready to do a rant. Because a lot of people are comparing it to Ex Machina and I think its actually more interesting.

Sounds like if you stop it at a certain timestamp and don't watch the rest it's great, kinda like what ive heard about 10 Cloverfield Lane
@RipleyE-we1hj8 жыл бұрын
What you've "heard"?! You have to see the movie for yourself. Some people didn't see any correlation between the last 10 minutes of it and 2008's Cloverfield so they completely downgraded the movie. Personally, 10 Cloverfield Lane is one of the best films of 2016 in this otherwise, disappointingly tepid summer movies.

+RipleyE2092 It's more than the last 10 minutes of the movie, but you get my gist 😁

I was just thinking during the trailer than this premise sounds a lot like AKIRA, or Blade Runner. And then we find out Ridley Scott's son directed it.

Got a bit of Species and Splice in it, too. Seems very derivative. Films like that require great execution to pull off well, and it sounds like this one stumbles a bit.

Oh Christy always whinges about this. She did it with Mockingjay 2 as well when the last line to that film was great. I don't trust her judgment on this.

Hey, Christie and Matt, you guys are the real stars, tirelessly working away while self proclaimed _celebrities_ try to make themselves into prima-donna's. And what kind of name is "Ben" anyway, huh? Probably goes around saying, "Call me Ben," like that's normal *pffft*
