But how do you know what Paul preached? You do realize that the Bible you read has been changed many times over since Paul wrote Galatians, right?

@@jasonmerrell1 The Holy Spirit guide’s the believer. God is the same he was thousands of year’s ago. That is why these things are called Faith. You do not see yet you believe.

​@@leewilson77: "It's totally coherent with itself" Here are a few places where it is not: -Matthew 9:18 says Jairus' daughter had just died when he came to Jesus for help. In Mark 5:22, it says she was near death. -2 Kings 24:8 says Jehoiachin was 18 when he became king. 2 Chronicles 36:9 says he was 8 (except in translations where the disagreement was corrected). -Matthew 12:30 says "He that is not with me is against me", but Mark 9:40 says "he that is not against us is for us". -1 Samuel 15:11 says God indicated "I regret that I have made Saul king", and 1 Samuel 15:35 says "the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel", but 1 Samuel 15:27 says that God "is not a man, that He should change His mind", as does Numbers 23:19. -1 Chronicles 21:1 says Satan tempted David to order a census of his people, but in 2 Samuel 24:1, it says God is the one who tempted David to do it. Clearly, alterations have been made to the text: some through careless transcribing (where parts of the text were missed or miscopied) or through the intentional additions of uninspired interpolations. It's not correct to claim the Bible is "totally coherent with itself", and doing so just hands ammunition over to atheists looking to destroy people's faith. It's far better to recognize that the Bible is mostly coherent with itself with amazing intricacy while recognizing that some alterations have been made to the text, than it is to fallaciously claim the Bible as it exists today is totally inerrant and entirely consistent.

since mormons teach christianity ... it does not apply to mormons. but speaking of teaching another gospel ... protestants removed some books from the bible ... so they are teaching another gospel.

I was raised Mormon and at the age of 49 had an encounter with the Holy spirit and came to know Jesus Christ and left the Mormon Church. I was never raised knowing Jesus only man made rules. I thank God very day for saving me and opening my eyes.

If you didnt learn about Jesus, you never went to church. I really hate liars. If you had a true bad experience thats one thing. But me now 44 having been in church and having been a teacher, I know your story is just so crazy false. Its okay to not like a religion, but deception is nasty.

I have had an encounter with TRUTH and with the TRUTH OF EXISTENCE ITSELF and I am glad that I have not been corrupted by the EVIL and SINFUL ways and false beliefs of Christians, Mormons or any similar creed who are the worshippers of SATAN himself.......

@@chrisp9500 . A false god. Both Muslims and Mormons profess belief in the God of Scripture. However, their gods stand in stark contrast to Yahweh, the one true and living God. Islam’s god, Allah, is monolithic, impersonal, unknowable, and unapproachable. He is the author of both good and evil and fatalistically determines all things. Mormons worship Elohim, or “Heavenly Father,” as the god of this world. Once a man, he attained deity, as did his first-born spirit child Jesus (Jehovah). Mormons believe there are many gods and many worlds and that men may themselves become gods one day. 2. A false prophet. Muhammad emerged in the 7th century claiming visitations from the angel Gabriel, who informed him that Jews and Christians had corrupted the Scriptures and abandoned true monotheism. Thus, Allah chose Muhammad as the “Seal of the Prophets,” the last of 124,000 prophets sent to show people the right path. Twelve centuries later, Joseph Smith claimed God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him, tapping this 14-year-old boy as the one who would reclaim true Christianity. 3. A false purpose. The goal of Islam is to subjugate the world and then rule it according to Islamic law. Muhammad claimed he was restoring true monotheism, which superseded both Judaism and Christianity. When the Jews of Medina rejected him as the last of the Old Testament prophets, he conquered their villages, plundered their goods, took their wives as slaves, and on one occasion directed the slaughter of several hundred Jews in a single day. Joseph Smith claimed his calling was to restore true Christianity, which had fallen into complete apostasy after the death of the apostles. When rejected as a true prophet, Smith was far less bloody than Muhammad but equally offended. He ordered the destruction of a newspaper that criticized him, which led to his arrest and death in a jailhouse shootout. 4. False scriptures. For 23 years, Muhammad claimed to receive revelations from Allah through Gabriel. He committed these words to memory and shared them with his followers, who wrote them down. After his death they were gathered into the Qur’an. Interestingly, after his first alleged visit from Gabriel, the terrified prophet believed a jinn (evil spirit) had visited him, and on one occasion he admitted receiving a Qur’anic text from the Devil. These “Satanic verses” subsequently were removed. Joseph Smith also claimed to receive divine revelations. In addition to the Book of Mormon, which he “translated” via peep stones called “Urim” and “Thummim,” Smith and his colleagues produced Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. 5. False doctrines. Islam professes many beliefs that are contrary to the Word of God, among them: That to worship a triune God is polytheism; that Jesus is not the Son of God or the Savior of the world; that Jesus did not die on the cross or rise from the dead; and that salvation comes through a combination of human effort and Allah’s predestination. Mormonism, while claiming to be restored Christianity, teaches many doctrines foreign to the Holy Scriptures: That every person and every god has always existed, making humans of the same nature as the god of this world (Elohim); that Jesus earned godhood in pre-mortal life; that His finished work on the cross secured resurrection for us, not forgiveness of sins; and that godhood is attainable. 6. False hope. Since salvation in both Islam and Mormonism is based on human effort, no Muslim or Mormon can know with certainty that he or she is eternally secure. Life is to be lived in the hope of pleasing a god who requires our works in exchange for his acceptance. *********** What a contrast to the gospel of Jesus Christ, in which God sends His Son to die on a cross and rise from the dead, paying our sin debt and extending to us forgiveness of sins and everlasting life by His grace through faith. Satan may continue to spawn new religions, but Jesus tells us that the false prophets who lead them may be known by their “fruits” - that is, their unbiblical lifestyles and false teachings (Matt. 7:15-23).

John 14:15 & 21; this effectively tells the reader that the way to salvation is through the law, and ‘all of it’; no room to cherry pick. They’ll say “But that was the OT,” and you refer them to Matthew 5:17-18: “I come not to change the law...not a jot or a tittle.” Then go to Exodus 21:20 (beating a slave), Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even their own life-such a person cannot be my disciple. Deuteronomy 22:21 Hymen not breaking? Daniel 6:24 wives and children? and Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (stoning your errant child). Under John 14 they must honour all these commandments. Psalm 137:9 killing infants. Matthew 10:34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. Sounds like a terrrible moral code to live by.

You are as a Latter-day Saint as well, only Jesus Christ can forgive any of us of our sins, no bishop, no Catholic priest, no evangelical preacher, just Christ. Jesus Christ has appeared to several men in our day, they have all testified of this, and has restored his gospel and church in our day.

He never said worship me and is a human prophet like all those that came before him. God knew people like you will worship Jesus because of the Virgin birth and the miracles. The main harm and danger caused by the man-made Bible and the man-made Quran is, that even though they contain man-made wisdom, they also contain man-made errors that are claimed to be the word of their god. By that, they expect the reality to adjust to those errors and not vice versa. Thats very harmful, especially as those man-made and “godly claimed” errors include topics like e.g. astronomy, evolution, biology and homosexuality.

I was a Mormon, I went on a mission for two years. I did the Mormon thing for 50 years. I am a Christian now I asked God to forgive for my sins. I love Jesus Christ Our Savior and Redeemer. I believe in grace of God.

Why do I not see any Mormon responses to this? Could it be that they are just too Proud to say, they believe that they can only get the grace by doing works. Grace by works is such an Oxymoron, GRACE cannot be Grace if it can only be achieved by works. Grace is given by God Freely but only to those that put their trust and belief in Him (to those who will REST on His Word the Bible). Not the people who believe they can only get it by doing good works.

I’m sorry that you spent 50+ years attending the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and never felt you were a true Christian. I love being a member of Jesus Christs church. I know he loves you and me and suffered for mine and your sins. I know he lives again. And because of his atonement and saving grace you and I will be able to live again because of him. May you feel love, peace and joy this Easter season.

I too served a LDS mission in the late '70s and became disenfranchised during my 2-year mission as I felt the only thing that I was doing was tracking numbers and by numbers I mean how many people I met with how many Mormon discussions I taught investigators and tallied all those up and sent them off to church headquarters so they could calculate future earnings from tithing and that stuck with me for a very long time until I just grew more and more uncomfortable with doctrine and inconsistencies and a very suspect history of how the church originated Joseph Smith's shenanigans in just craziness finally just caught up with me and I left the church and 2007 never looked back.

Based upon Matthew 25 and Philippians 2:12, which both run contrary to your statement, I'd say it's fidelity to Christ, not belief in Christ that allows one to access the fullness of salvation.

@@CadillacBunner Richard, l could not down load Jasper 2.18 onto my phone . I wondered if you could tell me a little more of your understanding of this verse. My experience has been that without grace, without faith which in itself is a gift from God , my own efforts could only produce a hollow and more temporary work or success against sin. It has been God's immense grace that has empowered me through faith to overcome sin and suffering with His help for the big win in an internal deeply felt longterm effect. Ephesians 2.8-10 The works become the Fruit that was long ago prepared that l was meant to walk in. So l am not saved by my works , but l was saved by grace through faith in God all a gift of God that l could not boast, now l work due to gratitude and joy which is the fruit of my faith which is a gift, still can't boast.. All l have is Jesus Christ and the Father who drew me to Him , and the Holy Spirit which fills my heart..what else could l possibly need?❤🙏 Would like to hear your thoughts.

@@inChristalone1960 Allow me to shed a little light on an otherwise clouded topic of contention. I will forego your sad attempt at humiliation in condemning a mistyping of the abbreviation of James, and direct you to the full summary that James, the brother of Jesus, give on the topic of faith and works. The passages you are looking for are James 2:14-26. If you want to say that Jesus’ brother misunderstood the teaching he heard directly from the Savior’s mouth, then we will have to ask “what else in the Bible is incorrect, and how would you propose we rectify such false teachings?” If you believe the Bible as you claim you do, then you have to recalibrate your understanding of faith alone being sufficient for salvation. Jesus said in Matt 7:21, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.” It would seem that even Jesus claimed there was a level of effort that is need to be allowed into Heaven. Faith alone isn’t enough. Just to give a little perspective to your claim, everyone that you disagree with religiously would be saved so long as they accept Jesus into their lives. Therefore, you may disagree with the Mormons, but as they have accepted Jesus, they too are saved. But according to you, and every other born again Christian, this can not be allowed, so you say that the “Mormon Jesus” is the wrong Jesus, thereby disqualifying them from the saving grace of God. But there is only one Jesus, so how can the Mormons worship the wrong Jesus if there is only one? The born again Christian argument is breed from the same self righteous belief as the Jews of the Old Testament, that sought only to find comfort in their sinful ways. To say the one would have to live without indulging in the worldly pleasures that are ever present before us all, would be to difficult of a task for people who just want an easy path to everlasting joy and peace in the next life. But a true Christian would understand that to live with Jesus where he live would require one to live on earth as He did.

Listen to the words of Satan to Adam in that ceremony ( l will not say it here ) the first words he says to him... compare that to the word's of Jesus to the woman at the well.. " God is Spirit , and those who worship HIM must worship HIM in SPIRIT and in truth".These are the words of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The true Biblical Christ. Not the Freemasonic Luciferian lds version. Please research further. Where is your loyalty? In what or whom have you placed your faith? Because many of those people who left the church love their Mormon friends and family and want them to understand that they need to accept the gift of God, repent and come to the true Jesus of the bible to be saved. Works, temple recommends, temple marriage, sealings, baptism for the dead, tithing, none of these will get a person to heaven.

@@jenman1293 we have all already achieved heaven after this life because of the the atonement of Jesus Christ-that is free to all of us who ever have been born or will be born on this earth. Salvation is FREE because of that. Born-agains are so preoccupied with what the Savior has saved them from that they fail to contemplate what He has saved them for. Ad wonderful and miraculous as salvation is, there is much more beyond that. We can be co-inheritors with Christ to all the Father has.

@@jimbanton3820 The sad thing is that you do not know the truth when you hear it because you have been indoctrinated by the untruth for so long that you have come to believe it to be the truth. If only you could come away from the brainwashing, you would see that Mr. MacArthur is speaking the truth. So often the only way one can undo this kind of washing is to have some counselling so then they have a true reference point to start from. Why you do not have a Peace about where you will spend your life after death is because you will NEVER know if you have done enough, and you can only find that out after you die, then it IS too late. You see the True Christian KNOWS exactly where they will be, and it will be with the same God as the Bible tells us about because it is God Himself who gave us His Word the Bible. We as Christians do not wish to make you feel bad but we say things seeming like we are being harsh and don't care but look to the Bible how Jesus was He did not pull any punches, he flipped those Tables. Why not? because we as humans don't listen to the soft-spoken words to often, we have to be smacked alongside of our head to get our attention sometimes but we do that because we want so badly for the Mormon people to find to truth so they too can be a True Christian.

Not to mention how disrespectfully he speaks about the faith of others. Sad that someone who considers himself an authority on Christianity would speak in such an un-Christianlike way.

I've often thought that it is interesting to note the personal contempt that evangelical Protestant Christianity displays towards Mormonism. I've noticed this before and I imagine that it is something that will continue. I'm just left wondering why. I understand that there are difference in belief, but the level of obvious disrespect that is frequently pointed towards us puzzles me somewhat.

If you think the contempt Christians who are faithful to God have for Mormon doctrine is interesting, you should take note of the contempt God has for Mormonism. You can begin to understand God's actual contempt for their religion in this verse: Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. The word accursed there at the end is also the greek word anathema which means to be damned to Hell. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. The Gospel is Jesus crucified, died, buried, and raised from the dead. And his brutal scourging and crucifixion are the full price paid for our sins. When we confess our sins, and ask Him for forgiveness, we receive it and eternal life sealed in our spirits. The Mormon Jesus is not the historical and actual Jesus. They define him differently. Their "gospel" is entirely different and therefore false and leading people to Hell. Yet they claim to be Christian and it is entirely deceitful for them to do so knowing they don't believe the Word of God. This is why true Christians view their teaching with contempt. Personally, I have compassion for Mormons and pray God will save as many fo them as He will. And many have repented and turned to Jesus.

It's perfectly common for any group of people to be social pariahs when they are different in any way from the majority. I honestly don't see any way to avoid that fact because it's simply human nature to treat those who are different as inferiors. I mean, you can train yourself to be more open-minded and loving, but you can't shift a whole society to be that way. The Communists tried, and it didn't turn out so well.

It is loving them and displaying compassion. Many Mormons have rejected LDS and have believed the gospel because of the truth being told to them. You obviously don't believe that truth. Without Jesus, and I mean the true Jesus, you are on your way to Hell. I don't want you to go there. God is not accepting Mormons into His kingdom who don't repent of their false religion.

John MacArthur needs a new nutshell. None of those points would come close to turning me. 1) I never have understood the "another Jesus" delineation. I believe Jesus of Nazareth, the son of God, born of Mary, who lived a sinless life and died on the cross and was resurrected about 33 AD is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If Christians don't believe that, that's their problem. 2) I've never understood the hyper focus on divorcing faith from works. Works focused on God are interconnected with faith and the two can't be separated. I've watched Christian preachers from different denominations fight this concept amongst themselves in regards to baptism ad nauseum. Please leave my church out of it. 3) The Bible is not a perfectly clear document. It has inconsistent teachings. That's why there are so many Christian Churches!!! I listen to preachers all of the time saying "well in the Greek translation ..... word really means ..... , so you can stop pretending that you believe the Bible is without flaw. The accounts are still true as are the prophecies, the blessings of Israel's posterity, and the testimonies of Christ. It's okay if the Bible isn't 100% accurate so you can also stop bashing on the church for pointing out the obvious. 4) Protestant churches always go after the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on saved by grace, but when they talk among themselves they preach a lot about doing good works and condemning bad works. Everyone knows it. Spare us the hypocrisy. 5) Evangelicals freak out about the becoming Gods concept. Every baby has a spark of divinity. God imparts blessings and powers with those he trusts. We can become "joint heirs with Christ." What does that biblical teaching mean? What exactly are you going to inherit? A nice house in a great community where there are no sins and no problem? We all know there is more to the universe and eternity than that. I can believe this without worshiping everyone around me. I worship God, not his children, even though the children possess great potential. The polytheism argument against the church does not resonate with me at all.

@@michaelgregory7719 It's easy for me to put some limits on that. I believe Christ created the earth we live in, but Jesus did not create God the Father, nor did he create Satan. God the Father created our spirits. My spirit, your spirit, Christ's spirit, Satan's spirit. Christ is quoted in John 20:17 that he is going to his Father and your Father. Isaiah 14 talks about Satan being cast out of heaven as does Revelations 12. Although so many Christian Pastors love to pretend that they understand the relationship between Christ and Satan and condemn other for believing otherwise, the Bible does not spell out Christ's / Satan's relationship. If you dare read the Book of Abraham 3:22 (Pearl of Great Price) to the end of the chapter, you will find additional information on what Satan's banishment looked like and the relationship between God the Father, Christ the Son, and Satan. It's harder for me to believe that Satan is Christ's creation / son as taught by Evangelical churches than to believe they are spirit brothers who took two separate paths.

Most of Mormons I think are quite intelligent but the sad part is that most of them are a foolish people, they are deceived by anything that their church or that matter also Joseph Smith told them. They cannot decipher truth from fiction. Why do you think the true Christian care about the LDS members is because we see how foolish they can be in the things that they believe when most people are able to tell that it is fiction or nothing but a fairytale but they believe it to be true. They are told to keep trying to receive the burning in the bosom and if they don't get it just keep trying and then they feel something and they then believe it is the burning but it could very well be an upset stomach. They even sometimes read the Bible and they know that Gods Word the Bible does not mention anything about the Burning in the Bosom. It is exactly the same thing that Pentecostals do they keep telling the ones in their congregation that if they keep working on it, they will get the gift of speaking in tongues, so the members keep trying and then finally they get something sounding like baby talk and they think now they have the gift of speaking in tongues. I am sorry to say that is not of God because God says that He is not a God of confusion and if you listen to anyone speaking in tongues it is very confusing and stressful, this is not of God. I am sorry that you do not know the God or Jesus of the Bible because if you did you would not be a Mormon. Your Jesus was created our Jesus was from Eternity past and will be forever, He had no beginning, you think God was a man before He became God and before the man was another God. I have yet found a Mormon to realize how ridiculously foolish and Gullible that this kind of thinking is. Even though I can spell out how foolish this thinking is and the IMPOSSIBILITY this could be, you will most likely not catch on. So, if God was a man first and before that man was a God who had been a man. I who has lots of common sense can understand the impossibility of this. So, my question to you is you also believe that if you play your cards right you can also become a God someday, and that you will have bliss with your family on a planet that you get to create. Now if you truly believe all of that, I now ask you to make some sense in your head on how that could be, if you admit that all the Gods through the Eternities have all lost their Power or they had to relinquish their power to the next man in line of getting the position of being the next God. So, if these Gods died off and then the next God took His place. How in the world do you think that when it becomes your turn to be a God that you are now going to live forever being a God. Can you see the point I am making, you too will someday lose your Godhood and the next person in line will take your place. So, then your spot that you had worked so hard to achieve is now gone forever. This is why the LDS people are known by most people that are not Mormons to be so very gullible by thinking like this. I only took my time to explain this, is because we as true Christians want you to realize the foolishness that you believe in. I am only talking about one foolish thing that you believe in and there are many of them. We want you to find the real Jesus and the real God because they are the only ones that can make your life worth living. You can stay with the Mormon church and you will never come to the point of reaching a place of Joy and Peace. It is not going to happen! Only the Real Jesus and God can give True Satisfaction and PEACE.

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. Mathew 22:30 . This is like the Jan6 hearings, no debate, just one side. I am a Christian worshiping in a Catholic church. Jesus wants us to love him and accept his sacrifice for our sinful unworthiness. Repentance and Works come as a consequence of the love we have for him. A lot is noise that cannot be known by us.

I'm a Latter-day saint, and honestly, the way he mocked and demeaned us by calling us devil worshippers and misconstruing some of our beliefs, as well as the hatred leveled against us in the comments section was extremely discouraging. All I and my friends want is to live honest lives and improve who we are through the atonement of Christ. Being bullied for that is demoralizing and hurtful. Sure we have different doctrines from other Christians, but I don't see why that's an issue since you can say the same about every religion and sect on Earth. Different people have different opinions-that's completely normal. The way I see it, the most vital thing is for everyone to be the best they can with whatever knowledge has been given to them in their mortal lives, and strive for honesty and righteousness in whatever way they understand. Obviously human nature constantly gets in the way of that, but no group of people can be exempted from those flaws. We have them, and so does everyone else. But what hurt even more was that I sensed little if any Christian humility or compassion here, from John and most of the commenters. You can call me biased-I definitely am-but the truth is that I generally think of people of other faiths, particularly other Christians, as being brothers and sisters in the worship of God, and this video weakened my faith in that conviction. It made me wonder if maybe the anti-theist community is right that Christianity and religion in general is more likely to breed arrogance and bigotry than love and compassion, and that was a far worse revelation than the idea that I'm going to be mocked and belittled just because I'm trying to be the best person I can through the traditions I was born into.

All those things are good intentioned. What I don't understand and please give me your insight about the ideas about heaven. It sounds like in some states of heaven, you have people who marry each other. Christ has said "At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven." So I just don't know how that belief even started when we have direct words from Christ.

It is an interesting paradox. I have known "Christians" who regularly fornicated, etc, and then told me 'thank heaven I'm saved by the grace of Christ". Yet Christ said not everyone who says to me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but he that does the will of my father in heaven (matt 7:21-23) and there are other such biblical examples. So the LDS version of salvation requiring works has basis in scripture. It simply cannot be true (nor scriptural) that a Christian can do whatever he or she wishes and be saved by grace alone, Mormons believe that grace fills the gap between what submission to gods will and obedience to his laws does in the life of a sinner, and what God requires to enter his kingdom. From my reading of the New Testament this is a very logical and scripturally sound paradigm. We must do, change, become, not merely profess. There are things about Mormonism that make complete sense to me, and others that do not.

"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12 Those who obey this command are called Christians. God desires that every man and woman believe in Jesus Christ, but not everyone will obey. Only by believing in Jesus Christ will any person obey this command and go to heaven. "For God so loved the word that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." Just by believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ we are saved. What is it we believe about Jesus Christ? 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: That is the Gospel. When we believe only in that, we are saved. The second take-away is that anyone who continues in sin was never saved to begin with. We are known by our fruits and as James put it, if we have no fruits, our faith is dead.

These people were either lying or relying on their works to save them, not Christ's righteousness. Another example is when the rich young ruler approaches Jesus and asks Him, "What can I DO, to inherit eternal life?" Also, look at the Old Testament. "Our good deeds are like filthy rags." Nothing we can do would make up for even one of our sins. All have sinned and fall short of God's glory.

I am always shocked to see and hear Preachers seeking to condemn other denominations when the Latter-day Saint..Church of Jesus Christ church never seeks to expose, so called truth shaming other fellow seekers of Christ...I have explored Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Southern Baptist, Trinity Baptist, Catholicism and Judiasm..sat in services, spoke with clergy and their missionaries and find myself ever convinced that I am where I am meant to be, Mormon as they say, and know that many true seekers from all denominations will be saved...the true disqualifier is those who profess his name and live counter his teachings..believing he will save them in their sins..and those who deny him and his divinity... Jesus is my Savior...

THE MOST INCREDIBLE TESTIMONY EVER , on KZbin.Micah Wilder was fulfilling his two year commitment as a Morman Miassionary with his partner in the Orlando,Florida area,and one of the homes they stopped at was a Baptist Pastor,and after discussions with each others beliefs not only Micah`s life was changed dramatically,but also his dad who was a high priest in the Morman church and his mom who was a Professor at BYU!

In Psalm 50:5 Gather my Saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by Sacrifice. Psalm 149:1 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. So if it is Jesus Christ church then what is it called? What is the foundation of his Church? What are the members called? Add up the clues! Ephesians 1:1 + Ephesians 2:19-20 +Psalm 50:5 + Psalm 149:1 Add these verses up and what do you get? The name of his Church, the organization of his Church, and the congregation of what? So what is the total mean to you? The fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is waiting for you and your family! Do your homework! you don't know until you study it!

@@dustinclark8680 about 2000 chrisitan churches have different views on what you have to do to be saved or redeemed or whatever. and then none but one, the lds, has any idea what the next life will be like. and the bible was a bunch of writing after the fact of speeches and events, all over the empire, translated over and over, and pieces collected, then translated again, then put together in a book, some left out, some included but edited, and called "the bible." well at least the first one was. then the greeks made one. then another. king james made one. there's the niv now. this explains why the apostles kept having to write all these epistles to correct the already diverging views about just what was true. and that was BEFORE "the bible" was even put together. only gotten messier ever since, one group breaking off after another. again, only one church acknowledges this, that the bible has some stuff missing, etc. the lds.

Amen. And the perversion of my beliefs coming out of this man's mouth in response to a genuine question makes me so sad. Fortunately, even if he knows he is spreading lies about what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes, he too can be covered by the Grace of our Lord and Savior. That's the beautiful thing about what we call the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It covers us all, whether we accept His sacrifice on our behalf or not. It doesn't bother me, these lies I heard. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear will recognize Truth. By their fruits you will know them!

I believe the Jesus Christ of the Bible, which is definitely a different Jesus Christ than what you believe. Jesus Christ said that he and God are two separate men. "Is it not written in your Law that the testimony of two men is true? I am one who witnesses of myself, and my Father who sent me, he witnesses of me." This alone destroys the Trinitarian Jesus Christ of the traditions of man. But there's more. God called men gods, not wicked men acting as false gods, but those who had received his word, and he called them Children Of God. And Jesus Christ affirmed this when he said "If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" We are told that it is impossible for God to lie, we are told repeatedly that there is only one God, so when God calls his righteous followers gods(plural), even if they weren't gods before, God spoke it into existence. So how can there only be one God and have men who have become gods, and not have one or the other be false? Just as Man can be plural in reference to mankind, so God is plural, encompassing many gods of multiple generations all working as a single entity. "That they may be one, as we are." "That they also may be one in us." For we are told in both the Old and New Testaments that we will inherit all things. That includes the ability to make worlds and put plants, animals and people on them. And God doesn't do anything in vain, if he gives someone something, then he expects them to use it. I will go with the Jesus Christ of the Bible, and not the Trinity created by wicked men.

@MZT So you believe that God and Jesus Christ lied, or the Bible has major theological errors that predate, but weren't corrected by, the Nicean Councils? Or will you believe that men made mistakes or intentionally misled people? The word Trinity appears nowhere in any translation of a Bible except footnotes. But Godhead is in the text. Search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and they testify of the true nature of the Godhead. "Duorum Hominum"(where we get hominid and human) is the Latin Catholic text of John 8: 17. Don't hate God because he blinded men from removing all his truth. The Bible is my friend. But the Bible is far from my only friend, for I have friends that clearly you don't know. One stands at the door knocking, waiting for you to open, so He can introduce you to His Father also.

Simply put it teaches that within the unity of the one Diety (one God)there are three separate Persons (not 3 Gods as in Mormonism) who are coequal in power, nature, and eternity. "In the beginning was the Word, (Jesus is the Word) and the Word was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God" Not "a" God but the one God.

@@wightman1525 I understand the doctrine of the Trinity very well, that's how I know the Bible disproves it. I have read the Apostolic Creed, the Nicean Creed and the Athanasian Creed. Yes one God, three persons, yet only one of those persons took on human form. Yet Jesus says that he and his Father are two separate men in John 8: 17-18, which by itself destroys the Trinity. But the Trinity disproves itself with conflicting statements, whether the 325 A.D. version or the 381 A.D. version or the 451 A.D. version. For all three say that Jesus Christ was not made, and then they say that Jesus Christ was made a man. In the Athanasian Creed it says that God is unchanging, yet the Nicean Creed says he became man or incarnate or was made man, depending on the translation into english. In the Athanasian Creed it says that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Father alone, by taking humanity unto himself, not by turning his divinity into flesh. And it says that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, but the Father is only fully God, and therefore superior. Yet Jesus Christ said that he and the Father are both men, or in the Latin Duorum(2) Hominum, where we get hominid and human. In the Nicean Creed and more especially in the Athanasian Creed it insists that there is only one God, God the Father , God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, yet all one God, and that's understandable, since God said "I the Lord God am God alone, there was none formed before me nor any formed after, beside me I know no other." However this God, who according to the Old Testament" cannot lie." and according to the New Testament "it is impossible for him to lie.", called men, not just any men, righteous men who had received his word, he called them gods, making them gods in truth, even if they weren't before, speaking it into existence, for he cannot lie. So the insistence that God the Father and God Yahweh his Son, have to be the same being gets thrown out the window. But the Bible already gives us an example of how both statements, one God and men made into gods, can be true. "Therefore shall a man leave mother and father and cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh." They don't merge into one body upon marriage nor does one or both being barren mean that they don't become one flesh. Just like in John 17, when we become one as Jesus and God are one, when we become one with them, we don't become part of them, but each keeps their own resurrected body, just like Jesus Christ did, and like God did before him, "Everything I see my Father do, that I do also." "Being in the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person." "Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God." " But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death" " Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they." How could Jesus Christ obtain a more excellent name by inheritance, if he was already the Most High God before he was made flesh? Everything about the Trinity is an abomination to the word of God(The Bible). For it is abundantly clear that God is plural for Godkind, many gods of multiple generations, yet all the one true God. We will inherit all things, all powers, all principalities and all the works of God. And God doesn't give us his power to create worlds and populate them in vain. Like fathers everywhere, God expects us to join him in the family business, to carry on his work.

wow, I can't believe how off he is in his comments. I have heard some weird things about telling others what someone else believes, but I have to say, this one is really weird. Just know that they leave out a ton of stuff as well as twist a lot of stuff. I would be very cautious listening to someone like this as they are not telling a true understanding.

McArthur worships three gods through the so-called "trinity" teaching which is not even found in the bible (it was added by monastic copyists and used to be labeled 1 Jn 5:7).

@@ShruteFarms001, if it's heresy to believe that a plurality of gods exist, then I guess Moses was a heretic (see Deuteronomy 10:17 and also 32:43 in the ESV or NRSV). And based on your claim, apparently so was Daniel (Daniel 11:36), Paul (1 Corinthians 8:5-6), and even Jesus (Psalm 82, John 10:34). But clearly they weren't heretics, so if Latter-day Saints are condemned by you for believing something the prophets and Christ himself also believed, then I guess we're in good company.

In another sense, anything can become an idol that we worship, making that thing no different than a god. God is infinite. We will never be infinite. We will never be all-knowing and all-powerful.

Peter says they will "partake of the divine nature" (Philippians 3:21). Between Jesus', Paul's, and Peter's statements, it sounds to me like Christ's faithful followers will be "gods" in the same sense that the scriptures talk about the "sons of God" in the Old Testament being "gods", e.g., that they'd be powerful beings trusted with stewardship of various parts of God's creation.

I picked up a copy of the Book of Morman at a friend's house and started reading a randomly chosen chapter. The more I read the more I couldn't shake the feeling that what I was reading was contrived - cooked up! Nothing like reading the bible.

You are exactly correct. May I also point out *how strange it is that a majority of Mormon doctrines, practices, and teachings CANNOT be found in the Book of Mormon.* Very strange considering the claims made by the author, Joseph Smith. In the Introduction to the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism wrote, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” Temple rituals, underwear with sewn in Masonic symbols, the practice of polygamy, are not in the Book of Mormon. Also you will not learn who the Mormon god is from the Book of Mormon. Smith did not reveal the god of Mormons is an exalted man until 14 years after he wrote the Book of Mormon.

I was in the LDS Church for 15 years from 1993 to 2008. Then I was out for 15 years. I was just re-baptized last week, 30 years and 3 months to the day of my original baptism and I have never been more joyous or felt my Heavenly Father's love more deeply. We worship Jesus Christ, the one who was born in a manger, turned water into wine, ate at the Last Supper, poured out blood from every pour in Gethsemane, died on the cross for our sins. Yes, the same Jesus every religion worships. We dont judge others or their religious choices, so why does everyone judge us, when we all worship the same God and His son, Jesus Christ ???

(Let *us* create man in *our* image - That's not God talking to himself, it's Heavenly Father talking to Jesus. They made man to look like them, have the same type of body they both have... Also, when Stephen was being stoned, he said he saw Jesus standing on the right side of Heavenly Father). There are plenty of scriptures to back up the belief there are other Gods. Jesus said, 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? ~ John 10:34-36 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. ~ Psalm 82:6

I’m Mormon, but It doesn’t sound Christian for a “Christian” to bash on another person’s best effort to get back to God. He’s right, I did think I had to work my way into Heaven. Have I changed that view? Yes. I still go to the same church though. God will sort it all out in the end. All Jesus asked us to do is love each other. SO WHY AREN’T WE DOING THAT???!!!

Don't listen to any other man only Jesus Christ is worthy to teach you. No church, No bible, No good deed, Nothing can save except for one thing. Knowing Jesus, receiving his Holy Spirit and following him until the end of your life. The Holy Spirit will tell you what to do, give you strength to do so, and comfort you and teach you, all supernaturally. Ask for the Holy Spirit because no man can enter heaven by the power of his own flesh but by receiving Jesus into his heart.

Why do they leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? because they do not believe the doctrine, are not willing to live by the teachings, do not know the teaching, or perhaps they are offended by someone, there are millions of reasons why people leave a religion! But do they have to degrade or put down something that they themselves are not willing to be a part of! We have the choice to live His Gospel, keep his ordinances and Covenants, and follow the Apostles and Prophets. If we choose not to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ we void the Blessing of the ordinances and covenants, we do not follow the counsel of the Prophets and Apostles! Choices can and will condemn us or Choices can bless us for eternity! If you look up in the dictionary the term EX means to remove or separate from! they are removed or separated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Not willing to live by their teachings! Why are they not willing to? Choose Wisely!

I thought this guy’s entire presentation, at least in this excerpt was rude, disrespectful and insulting. I was baptized Mormon when I was 8. I fell away from all religion not long after that. I’m coming back, though and trying to find where I fit. Read the Bible last year, reading the BOM now. I don’t know if I’ll be a Mormon by the end of it. I’ll read D&C next and then the Pearl of Great Price. I’ll pray about it, and we’ll see if that’s where I end up. But, regardless of the outcome, this presentation really bothered me.

So...... what's Paul referring to about the 3rd heaven in 2 Corinthians 12:2? If Mormons are not Christians, why do they have the name of Jesus Christ in their church and claim to be run the way that was set out in 1 Corinthians 12:28 and strive to follow him according to the best of their understanding?

2 Corinthians 12:2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows-such a one was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know such a man-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows- 4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. The third level of heaven in the Bible is where God dwells. The second level of heaven in the Bible is where the stars and planets dwell and the first level of heaven is the visible sky/atmosphere where planes and birds fly. 1 Corinthians 12:28 And GOD HAS APPOINTED these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. God no longer appoints people to the church to help establish the new church. The church is now established and God spesks to us today through His word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We are no longer in the new church age. We are no longer in the apostolic age and God no longer speaks to us through prophets. All of the gifts ceased after the apostolic age.

If Since the gifts were given to empower the church for ministry, build the church, and edify the church, I think it is strange to argue that they were only needed during the time of the Apostles; as the job is not yet complete! We still need His help! “But he that prophesies speaks unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:3,4. Really, we don’t need edification, and exhortation, and comfort today?

It is very clear that he didn't understand what he was told or was only hearing what he wanted to hear and is not willing to be forthright about what was said.

We are to be SEPARATE from those who are "fatally and terminally NON-Christian" (MacArthur). When it is used to make people feel some false sense of elitism, it becomes counterproductive to the growth of humanity. Icons of religion such as Jesus, and Budha knew this and tried to show a better way. Unfortunately, much of what they said was usurped and derailed by people using religion as a control method for the masses.

@@CDawson28 I can try and answer those questions while not prolonging too much. The Joseph Smith question is quite simple: members of the church believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet, just like the prophets of old, Moses, Noah, John the Baptist, etc. They believe Joseph Smith received revelation just as these other prophets did, and that God always worked through prophets and always will. No prayers to JS, not worshipping, nothing like that. About salvation and works, there is a more detailed explanation. We believe that, IF NOT for Jesus Christ, nobody could be saved. Every single person that ever existed or would exist could not be saved, since we all sin and “…the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23). Because God is perfectly just, He could not just wave his hand and save everybody, for it goes against his own character, so he prepared a plan for us to be saved. His beloved Son, Jesus Christ offered himself to come to Earth, live a perfect life, and die in exchange for us. Opposite to everyone else, Jesus was truly perfect and gave his own perfect life so we could be saved. He satisfied both the laws of justice (which required death, for all of us have sinned) and the laws of mercy. Through Jesus Christ’s atonement, we’ve received salvation. Every single person will resurrect and receive a perfect body. Death is not the end anymore. But Jesus didn’t give us this gift “only”. He also gave us commandments. As he said himself, “if ye love me, keep my commandments”. He wants to give us more, he wants us to be better. After he bought us with his sacrifice, He is ready to give us everything he has in store for us, but the way we can receive is to obey His commandments. In Matthew 5:48, after one of (if not the) most iconic speeches from Jesus, he finishes it with “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”. That is part of the sermon of the mountain, where Jesus gave us the “new law” and where he taught us how we should be. The commandments we receive from Jesus Christ are to teach us how to be more like Him and God. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ believe that through the power of Christ, everyone can be more like Him, and one day live in His presence. This is more of a summarized version of beliefs. The official (also summarized) statement of what the church believes are called Articles of Faith. If you google “Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Articles of Faith” you will see the 13 articles that do a better job of summarizing the official beliefs of the church.

No it is not “works” based on it is based on the saving atonement of Jesus Christ, 100% completely because of him and through his grace we are saved. The only works required to receive of all the blessing God has in store for the faithful is ordinances (think baptism) and repentance, further aligning our will with God to help us in becoming more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. Don’t mainstream Christians believe in repentance? And no, we do not in any way worship Joseph Smith. We esteem him as other prophets in other times, like Moses and Abraham. We seek to follow the doctrines and principles he taught just as we do those taught in the Bible.

@@nategibbs5483 What a complete and total misrepresentation of the way Mormonism is practiced, but I understand the utility of doing so because Mormons so badly want to consider themselves Christian when they certainly and most definitely are not. In fact, Mormons are fed lies straight from the pits of hell. If Mormonism is not works-based then why do you completely abstain from coffee, alcohol and tobacco? Doesn't Jesus teach us in the book of Matthew that "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them..." ? The perfectionism in which Mormons strive for in daily life is proof of it being a works-based, and thus, false religion, just like Catholicism, Islam, etc. What about all the super secret ceremonies Mormons practice at their temples? Special handshakes through a white sheet, as an example. Works-based salvation! As for your "prophet" Joseph Smith? Did it ever occur to Mormons to compare Joseph Smith to any of the prophets mentioned in the Bible, like Isaiah? Joseph Smith was a FRAUD in every way and was even arrested for scamming people out of money. I won't even mention his practice of polygamy because that's hack at this point. Instead, let's discuss his polyandry -- marrying other men's wives, marrying both mother and daughter (many of whom were 12 & 13 years-old.) Does that sound like a heavenly prophet to you? I pray that every Mormon wakes up and realizes the truth about their false religion. I pray that each individual who believes these hellish lies is awakened and flees from the viper pit. Mormons are being tricked by Satan himself to believe in so many things other than the Truth -- Jesus is the Messiah, our Savior, the Great Mediator between us and the Father. Being placed into the celestial, terrestrial telestial kingdom is not about the amount of works that you can do. It's about your willingness to be a representative and follower of God. Some people will follow good feelings only but reject Christ as the son of God. Some will accept and do as God, the Savior and the spirit but will not comply with all his commandments. We can not force our way into the celestial kingdom or any kingdom by actions alone. It's also matter of how much a person is willing to obey God, do his will and receive his grace.

I have a lot of respect for John MacArthur for not closing his church during the COVID lockdowns. But ironically his attack on Latter-day Saints here for not being Christians does not seem Christlike. Folks from BYU compliment MacArthur by having their students read his book, and he treats that with contempt. I found that reaction puzzling. If He were here, I don’t see Jesus responding to Mormons like this. I’m reminded of when the disciples came and complained that they had found people casting out devils in Jesus’ name. He told them forbid them not. (Luke 9:49-50) Likewise, I think of the Savior’s interactions with Samaritans, who did have some false beliefs. He didn’t condone the false beliefs, but reached out in love.

The thing I love about the LDS faith is that it is available to all mankind through the Temple and the afterlife. The Evangelical Christian belief is, that we can accept Christ and be saved, but this so much more restrictive than the LDS belief. What about the 90% of mankind that has never even heard the name Jesus Christ they will tell you they are "damned to Hell" forever. I cannot believe in a God that would not provide a way for all mankind to be saved, but the LDS Faith does.

He says we believe we earn our way into heaven, this isn't what we believe. Grace makes up for our imperfections by the atonement so that we can be washed and made clean and thus worthy of heaven because no unclean thing can dwell in the presence of God. Our actions must align with following God's commandments as close to perfect as we can. If our actions don't matter then why would God have given us commandments?

Grace doesn't kick in for Mormons until AFTER all they can do and AFTER they have removed all ungodliness from their lives; basically they have to perfect to be saved. Jesus saved us while we were yet sinners and Christians HAVE eternal life now and will be in the presence of God immediately upon leaving this earth. God tells us all have sinned and that we will always be sinners. That's why we needed a savior to save us from our sins. Jesus took all of our sins to the cross with Him and imparted His righteousness to us so when God looks at us, He doesn't see our righteousness. He sees us cloaked in Christ's righteousness. We are sanctified through the blood of Christ, the process of being made like Him but we'll never be sinless until we are dead. We don't have to be sinless to have eternal life but we shouldn't willfully sin. That's the difference between a Mormon and a Christian. The Mormon gospel is an impossible gospel because Mormons can't be perfect in order to save themselves. Scripture says if we say we have no sin, we are liars. Are you a sinner? I am. Show me in the Bible where we have to follow God's commandments to have eternal life.

I must confess I'm confused. While he demonizes these people, I find them to be some of the most decent, kind, and generous people I have ever met. So many of them have a certain glow in their countenance. I've listened to their leaders and find their messages uplifting and bring me peace. Doesn't the scripture say, by their fruits ye shall know them? I'm pretty sure he is twisting their doctrine around too. I believe Christ will return one day. I look forward to the time when He will set the record straight and we can all know with perfect clarity the just from the unjust.

My Bible tells me in Revelations there is neither male nor female in Heaven. We are given new bodies, celestial bodies. Of course there is no sex in Heaven, no marriage. Huge problem solved! Thank you Father!

. Jesus did not stop being a man after the resurrection, we will have a body like his, maybe our sex drive will not exist in heaven, but we will still be male and female, even some of the Angels (Angels are all males) are were capable of falling from heaven and mating with women in Genesis chapter 6, I don't think there is Biblical evidence to support your statements. Marriage in heaven is Christ and the church, not men and women, you are right on this though.

Well I do think we will be single in heaven. Jesus himself said they neither marry nor are given in marriage. Thank God we will have a fellowship with him more satisfying than any marriage.

A) The line "given in marriage" implies He is referring to arranged institutionalized marriages, not marriage from love. B) Adam had fellowship with God in Eden, God said he was alone and needed a partner.

"Jesus himself said they neither marry nor are given in marriage" you misunderstand what jesus was saying. jesus was talking to people who did not believe the gospel ... therefor they did not get married by the power of the holy priesthood ... therefor their marriage was not bound in heaven.

@@grayman7208 I don't think the first part is referring to marriage, and the verse is finished with what God has bound together let no one separate but it could be argued that this is compatible with singleness in Heaven as it would be God separating them not people.

Mr. MacArthur should be more honest in what he states about "Mormons" belief in the Bible. He claims that they believe that "the Bible is corrupt." He knows better but persists in his misrepresentation. The 8th Article of Faith" of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints states: "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly." "Mormons" study the KJV Old and New Testaments for a solid year, each, every four years. They accept the Bible. But, does anyone seriously think that there were not some errors in the translation? Which Bible translation? Which language translation? Some things in the Louis Second translation in French are directly in contradiction to the KJV. He acts as if all Christians have one belief. But the Catholics accept many books in their Bible that the protestants don't. Who's right? Is their Bible inaccurate, or not inspired? And who decides? Mr. MacArthur? The Pope? You?

In Psalm 50:5 Gather my Saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with my by Sacrifice. Psalm 149:1 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. So if it is Jesus Christ church then what is it called? What is the foundation of his Church? What are the members called? Add up the clues! 3 Nephi 27:8-10 +Ephesians 1:1 + Ephesians 2:19-20 +Psalm 50:5 + Psalm 149:1= Add these verses up and what do you get? It is not confusing! You just have to do the research!

Whenever Mormons go on their mission, they not only greet everyone on the road about Mormonism, they also go house to house which it states quite clearly not to do in Luke 10:3-12. But also when they do spread the word they don’t even give people the Bible but the Book of Mormon instead, if that’s not the exact definition of heresy then I don’t know what is.

Luke 10:3-12 doesn't say that at all. The last sentence of verse 7 does say that but within the context of don't move around house to house when in a city but stay in one house while you are there.

If Mormons are Christians why is their main book the book of Mormon rather than the Bible? Why do they not care that the book of revelations says that the Bible is complete. This was 2000 years ago. Then suddenly God changes his mind and sends His angels to tell Joseph Smith to create new books that say that Jesus is our spiritual brother and the first human God raised to God hood? And that when we die we will become God's of our own planets? You are being deceived. That's why you're not allowed to marry a Christian and you are only allowed to be friends with and be married to other Mormons? Doesn't that sound kind of DEMONIC to you? It's meant to keep you in deception. Reject this false doctrine! You will go to Hell following this false doctrine! I have never seen a Mormon pass out a Bible. They pass out the book of Mormon instead, which has books that are not in the BIBLE

I grew up in the LDS Church. When I was 12, I went to a temple opening in Redlands, CA. There was a Christian protestor. What I learned from this protestor was the following: 1) My Church was false. 2) I didn't know Jesus. 3) I was going to Hell. It had no effect on me. When I was 15 someone explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ to me. I was saved later that day. With all respect to John MacArthur, just teach people the Gospel. You don't need to argue or prepare the ground for the Gospel. That's God's job. Just preach the Gospel. Edit: Now that I have interacted with Mormon apologists, I need to apologize to Dr. MacArthur. the gospel is the bible AND the book of Mormon. you were going to be saved if you had followed through until baptism. I'm saying as a brother in Christ. We are Christ centric and the BOM is nothing but testimony of how the lord helped Nephi escape and follow the lord (God) through the most perilous of times. Also FYI, I've been to Catholic proceedings and am now a convert into LDS. I have never made a better decision. God loves you but doing what you can in terms of covenants and sealing your marriage (a Godly and heavenly event) is what proves that you're serious in being more Christ-like. Its this level of yearning that makes us as individuals Gods eventually with our commitment and service (like mission work) as a reward.

@Harshit Garg Can you be more specific, what do you consider to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Growing up Mormon, I frequently heard this phrase used but never quite defined. I always assumed the Gospel was the Mormon church and everything about it kind of like what you said. However, the Gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. The death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why did this change my life? Because, someone explained what it meant. There are lots of videos on KZbin that can explain the Gospel better than I can. The short version is this... What Jesus did on the cross was something I could never have done for myself. When He said, "It is finished." He meant it. It's not 1% my good works and 99% what Jesus did. It's 0% me, and 100% Jesus. Jesus Christ didn't die to give me a coupon, half my sins off, or pay one sin get one sin free. It was a complete and finished work. One sacrifice, one time, for all the sins of humanity past present and future. Ephesians 2:8 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Romans 5:15-19 KJV - But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Most people begin by presenting the law. I didn't need someone to explain the law to me, I knew I was a sinner. No matter how hard I tried to be a perfect Mormon, and I made a great attempt, I was unable to do it on my own. The sin of Pornography took root in me very young. I remember discussing with a gay LDS man how he left the church. His sin was open. Everyone knew what he was doing and he had to face the judgement of other people in church. My sin was secret. Only my parents knew and my Bishop. But I knew, and the shame of my sin was plain to me. I am a sinner. I cannot be perfectly righteous by my own works. What a relief it was to hear that I didn't have to be perfect. My salvation wasn't up to me. If I had done nothing but good works and sacrificed every moment of my life serving others, that wouldn't pay off one sin. Not one. In the 1980s the ExxonValdez oil tanker crashed off the coast of Alaska and polluted the natural habitat of seals. Nothing these seals did could save them from the crude oil. When they swam in the ocean, they were covered in crude. When they rolled on the sand to get clean, the sand was covered in crude oil. Their habitat was contained, polluted, with crude oil. Luckily, volunteers went to Alaska and cleaned up the water, and the beaches, and used solvents to get the crude oil off of the seals. The seals were helpless to the crude oil. They couldn't save themselves. They were helpless. Our world is polluted in sin. Sin is a problem we cannot save ourselves from. We needed a volunteer, we needed a savior. Romans 3:23 KJV - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 5:12 KJV - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: We are all sinners. It only takes one sin, just one, to damn us. And we cannot pay off our sins by living righteously. Galatians 2:21 KJV - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:16 KJV - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Our works don't save us, but holding on to our self-righteousness keeps us from salvation. Matthew 9:13 KJV - But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. The Lord Jesus Christ died for sinners. If you are a sinner, and you believe that Jesus Christ died for you, then you must trust entirely in what he did. Anything you add to the cross nullifies it. It's not Jesus + your good works. It's just Jesus. Isaiah 64:6 KJV - But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Galatians 1:6-12 KJV - I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:17 KJV - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. If you have heard the Gospel, you have two choices. You can reject it or you can believe it. I believed it and I was saved. Born again into the kingdom of heaven. Romans 10:9 KJV - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. I was saved, not of any works that I did. But through faith. Faith that I was a sinner who couldn't save himself. Faith that Jesus Christ paid the price for all of my sins. Faith, that I didn't have to be perfect, I only had to trust and believe in what Jesus did for me. That salvation is a gift. Not a coupon. And everytime someone in the Mormon church would mention that salvation by grace is nonsense, they would quote: James 2:17 KJV - Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Which first of all has nothing to do with salvation. Ephesians 2:8 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: And second of all, if you insist on being saved by works, there is only one work that God accepts. John 6:28-29 KJV - Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. The work that God accepts is believing in Jesus Christ. Salvation isn't in a church, or in a temple, it's in the Lord Jesus Christ. The irony of course, is that God made the Gospel. God sent preachers to preach the Gospel. God gives you the faith to believe the Gospel. God seals the Holy Spirit in your heart when you believe the Gospel. And someday God will return and take us with him to heaven. God does everything. All we have to do is believe and trust in what he's done. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Heaven doesn't have room for self-righteous people. There are none righteous, no not one. No one gets to heaven and tells God how lucky God is to have them around to make the place holier. There are no openings in the Godhead. The only people in heaven are sinners who knew they needed a savior, and trusted in what Jesus did for them.

I don't think that was MacArthur's finest hour. He didn't directly address the core issue this young man raised, which is this: Mormons use the same terms that Christians use, but they have entirely different meanings for those terms. If you don't understand that, you will be confused by them and be unable to respond to their arguments.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it really worries me that this man took our doctrine of being sealed for eternity to those we love, our companions and help-meets through our lives and theirs, and emphasized it was sexual? Does he only see his spouse as a sexual object? Poor woman, if so. I hope she finds her voice. I feel Evangelical Christians see our religion as a threat. But my Savior and Redeemer is the Jesus Christ which preached the Sermon on the Mount. The Son who came to this Earth so He could set the example and show the way! Who laid down His life, and was resurrected so that someday we all might receive the same gift. The One who will stand with us before the judgement bar of God and allow God to be filled with Justice AND extend Mercy. I wonder what my Lord and Savior would have to say to this young man, who had a genuine question, but went to the wrong source. This young man at the microphone seems to have legit concerns for those this young man feels must not know the Grace of our Savior. I think Jesus Christ would tell this young man, not a bunch of lies, but, "by their fruits, you will know them". I hope anyone who is genuinely concerned for the soul of a "Mormon" would actually go talk to a member of my faith who is trying their best to live a life following the teachings of Jesus Christ. What is the fruit of their lives? I'm not talking about a hypocrite that is not really living what our leaders have asked us to incorporate into our lives. Where is Christ or God in this leader's response? All I heard was stubborn pride and spreading of misinterpretations of beliefs I love deeply (& NOT in a perverse, sexualized way! Again, I don't understand what I just heard, unless the man responding was staying stubbornly and purposefully ignorant of our beliefs, clinging to his prejudices like the Pharisees who crucified our Savior.) I am just so baffled about what I just watched, it makes no sense to my Autistic mind how these lies can keep being believed by so many?

I attended a Mormon church with my ex for about a year and everything he’s saying in the video is legit. Because of my appearance, tattoos, piercings I always got looks. I would often get “The body is a temple” thrown at me. I’d always reply “It is written that it’s not what goes into the body that makes you unclean, it’s what comes from the persons heart that does” What about half the females here who colour their hair??? That’s body modification! As Jesus demonstrated in the desert against Satan, It is written is the most powerful tool we can use as followers of Christ to combat the lies, deception and misinformation.

That's something that my friends and I have talked about. We're all members of the LDS church, and we all agree that we have a problem, particularly in Utah of judging people who don't fit in. I mean, that sort of thing happens everywhere you go in the world, but we don't think that's any excuse. That said, we're just as human as anyone else, and we're going to have the same base inclinations such as judging people on things like their outward appearance. I'll continue reminding my friends that we should combat that sort of bigotry, and I hope and pray that some of our leaders address it, too.

If you want to know what Mormons believe, ask one. Would you want someone who obviously doesn’t like you to tell others what your religious beliefs are? I am Mormon and nothing he said was true. And I know many of you will reply to my comment and tell me his version of MY beliefs is the correct version.

You'll simply regurgitate what you've been told, perhaps as a 5 year old with your short sleeve white shirt and clip on tie while you stand at the podium as your mother whispers on your ear what to say on the 1st Sunday of the month. Why not try the Book of Commandments, you know, before Joey Smith rewrote it, but kept the same dates. Yes, that's called falsification of documents. Your beliefs are irrelevant. What are the official writings and doctrine of the Corporation of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints? That's what matters. @Cheifhugh I agree with you that this KZbin video features John MacArthur's opinion, which is an opinion by someone who is not saying kind words about the Mormons. I am neither a Mormon nor a Christian. I am just a man who recognizes that this KZbin video is attacking the Mormons. And I don't trust in John MacArthur's competence. Neither do I trust that John MacArthur speaks the truth. I don't care what John MacArthur says except that I don't want anybody to think that I agree with anything that John MacArthur says.

Incredible how much one man can lie and lead people away from the actual teachings of the church. I'd say this is at most 15% accurate and 85% lies or embellishment about Mormon belief. He obviously is afraid of people looking into it for themselves and instead declares us pagans instead of acknowledging our love for Christ and great effort to seek truth, not blindly, but through effort and faith in Christ alone. About any religion in the world, don't just listen to people who don't believe in it and their opinion, study and learn for yourself what to believe.

Notice how you think this guy is lying but you don’t question Joseph smith, Brigham young or all the other leaders and events in Mormonism, he’s a theologian and speaking of Mormon theologically it is polytheistic multiple gods and multiple planets and heavens where god is a polygamist who begets his kin physically and spiritually looks like you haven’t looked into your own beliefs much my friend I was a Mormon missionary once so I understand the cognitive dissonance but at least study the subject thoroughly before judging I studied in depth for 4 years before leaving the church all being church approved by the way; it’s not hard to see it for the con it is if you actually put in effort instead of just reading the 2013 BOM and general conference talks

The LDS church worships a works based Jesus. I used to be a part if the Mormon religion. I would still be part of it if I did not ask a few questions that seemed like easy answers. Having the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and covenants, as well as the Pearl of great price. I asked this question of the bishopric in Utah. I asked for answers from all three of the LDS holy works. Knowing that old and New Testament agreed with each other in substance, I asked if the answers from the BofM, D&C, as well as Pearl, and i required them to agree with each other and the Bible. It was brutal. I have not been in an LDS building since.

i mean the bible doesn't agree with itself at times. not because it's wrong, but there's just things we can't understand. i'm not lds, but that's my belief anyway. i wouldn't say lds worships a works based jesus, it's more about trying to be good to get the "rewards" of heaven. (baptists call it rewards.....lds call it three levels of heaven. call it what you want.) catholics are more on the works jive than the lds...

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have come to find out for myself that the church is true. I have studied the Book of Mormon, I have prayed about it, and I have received an answer from the Holy Ghost that the book is true, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s church on the Earth today. In the Bible it says “by their fruits ye shall know them.” One of the fruits of Joseph Smith is the Book of Mormon. Because the Book of Mormon is true Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. Because Joseph Smith is a prophet of God The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. The church provides answers to life’s greatest questions. I know where I came from, I know why I’m here, and I know where I’m going after this life. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes me honestly truly happy. And it provides purpose and meaning to my life. Not only have I felt the comforting reassurance from the Holy Ghost that The Church of Jesus Christ is true, it only makes sense that Jesus Christ would restore His church to the Earth again. And that’s why I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Lord has taught me who I am. That I’m a son of God the Eternal Father. He has assured me that my faith and righteous works are pleasing onto Him, and inasmuch as I keep His commandments, repent of my iniquities, and reach out to Him with all my heart in sincere prayer, I shall be blessed throughout my life and shall be lifted up at the last day. So will all of you if you exercise faith unto repentance, come unto Jesus Christ, be baptized in His name, be sanctified by the Holy Ghost, receive God’s ordinances, obey His commandments, and endure to the end that you may become perfected through the atonement of Jesus Christ. So you have to wonder about all those churches after the Sunday service ends, with full knowledge and consent the entire church leadership, the ‘blessed’ and ‘sanctified’ (meaning made Holy for a sacred purpose) ‘left-over’ bread and grape juice/wine/water, the symbol of the body and blood of Jesus, is unceremoniously and quietly thrown out like common trash and/or poured down the drain into the sewer. In contrast - Would any true American discard an old faded and torn American Flag by throwing it in the trash? It is difficult to believe even the hint of desecrating the body and blood of Jesus Christ, in any manner symbolic or real, is pleasing and acceptable in the sight of God. Yet, our neighbor, southern baptist pasture Dan said; "Yeah, we throw the left-overs out, it doesn't mean anything anyway". Maybe this is the abomination and desolation of the Bible happening right under our very noses and everyone says; "Amen".

However, don't forget, not everyone in the world has an opportunity to hear the truth, but they can still live by the natural law (thou shall not kill, commit adultery, steal, etc.) and possibly achieve salvation. Which why Peter says in 2 Peter 2 : 21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. Who are the ones who never knew the fullness of truth? But take your basic John MacArthur follower who claims to be saved, but continues in sin is just ridiculous.

@@johns1834 Try reading and embracing all of 2 Peter first before you take one verse out of context with your supposition as the entirety of your nonsensical rot is also openly condemned in Hebrews 6:1-6 and Acts 8:9-24. Simply put, you are stating that the lost (un regenerated) will go to heaven but the regenerated (born again) believer will go to hell because they (also) continue to sin albeit only in the weakness of the flesh...

I tell them each to pick a random page in their books, and a random line on that page. then they read the question and answer, "what color is the sky?", "half past twelve" . this imagined scenario makes just as much sense as Kelly's idea. btw, the thread is 2 years old

Joseph Smith taught his followers their god is an exalted man. It was Brigham Young, 2nd Mormon false prophet, declared, *“Why do we believe in and practice polygamy?* Because the Lord introduced it to his servants in a revelation given to Joseph Smith, and the Lord’s servants have always practiced it. And is that religion popular in heaven? It is the only popular religion there.” This nonsense was part of Young’s Sunday Message in the Meeting Hall, to the self-proclaimed latter-day saints, Salt Lake City, July 6 1862. Mormons do not believe that Jesus has a "dual nature". So the man Jesus we read about in the Bible, growing in wisdom and stature, is the only Jesus there is. He was the "Son of God" not because of a dual nature, but because his actual Father is the God of Israel-- a Being like himself. The notion that Jesus has a "God nature" as an incomprehensible "Person" of an immaterial, body-less "Spirit" that is the same Being as his Father comes from philosophy, not the Bible. So how can Jesus and his Father be separate Beings and not be different Gods? Notwithstanding what this video says, Mormon scripture says the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are ONE God. And Mormons believe their own scriptures. It is just as valid to say they are ONE God as it is to say a father, mother and their children are ONE family. Or that 100 Senators are ONE Senate. Virtually everything we speak of as "ONE" has members or parts. The only exception is the confusing philosophical trinity God of multiple "Persons" but ONE 'substance". Well, and possibly sub-atomic particles do not have parts. “By these things we know that there is a God [the divine Elohim] in heaven, who is INFINITE and ETERNAL, from everlasting to everlasting the same UNCHANGEABLE God, the framer of heaven and earth, and all things which are in them;" -D&C 20:17 "Which Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are ONE GOD [the divine Elohim], infinite and eternal, without end. Amen." --D&C 20:28 One can disagree with Mormon doctrine, but if they are shown these Mormons scriptures that say the divine Beings of the Elohim are collectively ONE God and then they say Mormons believe in more than One infinite Elohim they are being dishonest. Notice the following verse that shows that the disciples of Jesus become one "even as" Jesus and his Father are one. The disciples do not become one immaterial, body-less "Spirit". So neither are Jesus and his Father like that. They are separate divine Beings in unity as one God. "And the glory which thou [the Father] gavest me [Jesus] I have given them [his disciples]; that they may be ONE ****EVEN AS**** We are ONE." --John 17:22

The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ is God born in flesh. God is one. God the Father is Holy Spirit born in flesh as Jesus. Simple as that.

@@landen99 They laugh because they don’t have understanding and it’s foolishness to them. Christ is the image of invisible God, his radiance, people see God through Christ. Colossians 1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation… Hebrews 1:3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power John 1:18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known You also bear image of Adam, and we believers bear image of Christ, and Adam bore image of God and in the future people will make image to the Beast and the Beast will make that image …alive.

It's interesting... When the Protestants broke off from the Catholic church, calling it an "apostate church", they got rid of the ordinances Christ established, namely baptism. Replaced it with Sola fide. They got rid of authority, and replaced it with Sola scriptura. But they held onto the apostate Catholic Creed's of Trinitarianism. All three of these apostate teachings are not taught in the bible. I'll admit there are a couple verses that appear to teach faith only, but, you'd have to ignore more teachings about faith requiring works, and Christ requiring baptism. And the context and audience is also important to understand. Anyway, none of those three beliefs are found in the bible. They are interpreted from the bible, deduced, born from agendas, not by revelation. It is on those three points that Protestants, especially evangelicals, get irritated about Mormons.

@@soneedanap You came to this conclusion about salvation and baptism because you don't see that certain things apply to certain group of people only, and the things before and after Christ are different. You also miss the fact that the Gospel is progressive, it is revealed gradually. A few things to think about: - to whom the 10 Commandments were directed? - How Adam, Noah and Abraham were saved? - How was a thief on the cross saved (no baptism?)? - John the Baptist Gospel was about preparing Israel for coming Messiah (baptism int he water) - Jesus' Gospel was about incoming Kingdom and Jesus came to "the Lost Sheep of House of Israel" and not to the others, Jews had to believe in who is Christ to be saved - there was no Gospel for the Gentiles yet - the only Gentile saved was Cornelius - Roman citizen, what shocked Peter - in John we have prophecy about Holy Spirit ministry - Christ died on the cross then the Holy Spirit was poured on apostles as tongues of fire and next Christ manifested as light to Paul on his way to Damascus - Paul preaches Gospel for the Gentiles, and from now on the Gentiles can be saved as well (Paul didn't come to preach baptism but salvation by grace as mercy)

Interesting video, but just a few Questions for clarity: (1) So why do most Christians sects use the bible (but disagree on many practices and doctrine?) (2) Why don't any of these Christian churches call themselves after Jesus (for their churches name) (3) If there is one true religion that exists today (which one is it? or does it really matter) And if it doesn't really matter then why the fuss? But if it does, would it be important to know - and which one is it? (4) I see that most if not all churches don't claim to be Christs true Church (interestingly)?. In the end from my understanding being a "true Christian" is believing in Christ + the things he did & taught (like being born, dying on the cross for our sins + being resurrected) and also following him + his teachings. (5) As per plural gods, Christ taught to be perfect like he and his father are(so eventually - it wouldn't be out of the question to become more like them eventually). So if God is our father, wouldn't that be part of the goal)? Fathers and even mothers usually want the best for their kids, so they'd want them to progress. Anyway food for thought on those subjects and God bless!

1. First, all humans are flawed, so it is easy to get interpretations wrong. Secondly, some choose to misinterpret or only accept certain parts of the bible so that they can accept certain beliefs or actions in their life/group. 2. A name is just a name - has no indication as to the true beliefs of that church. I have a church near me called "Temple of Seth" - yet they would follow the beliefs of the Church of God denomination (IIRC) - the church was just founded by a guy who's first name was Seth. 3. The fuss is because every religion claims theirs is the true one. You can only have 1 true one. Which means (depending on the beliefs of that religion) - your very future depends on it. Even believing that all religion is false, is still a religion. Your beliefs will dictate how you live your life, what you expect to happen when you die. I believe Christianity as spelled out in the Bible is the true one. 4. Catholics (Catholic as an adjective means "universal") would claim to be Christ's True Church - but they would be one of the sects that have beliefs that don't fit what the bible says. As a Christian, I believe the true church is made up of true bible believers - doesn't matter what denomination you come from. As long as you believe the Bible to be the true word of God and have genuinely repented of your sin and excepted Christ as your savior and are striving to follow him - you are part of the true church. We don't have to agree on every thing - just the core doctrine of the bible on who God and Jesus are, and what Jesus did for us. 5(or 6 - you skipped a number). Becoming like a person doesn't mean you become them. Yes our goal is to become more like Christ every day. But that doesn't mean we become a god our self.

Hippolytus: "they plaster on to the face of Christ their own teachings." Mormonism is part of the Restoration Movement. Like Islam it promotes the idea that it has a special book and a unique prophet; who have proven instrumental in recovering what had been lost However, both books and both prophets are deeply flawed to put it mildly. Mormonism, like Islam, fails the litmus test for prophets in Mathew 7:15-20.

Why are there so many Churches in the world today? Why are there so many Bibles? Jesus Christ Gave his all for us! He love us and gave us his Gospel! If it is my Church then it called in my NAME “Jesus Christ”! +Ephesians 1:1 + Ephesians 2:19-20 “ Organization” +Psalm 50:5 + Psalm 149:1 “ Congregation of Saints” Add these verses up and what do you get? Is it one fold “congregation”, one Sheppard “Jesus Christ”? Is religious organizations confusing? Why do we have so many Bibles, and churches? In Revelations 22:18-19 have we opened the plagues unto the world by having so many Bibles and churches? What about Revelations 22:22? How does it affect Ephesians 2:19-20, and us today? Yes! @@TheViking1980 I’ll answer that as a Christian. No. We are taught not to trifle with things that are actually sacred. A book is not sacred just because someone believes it is. A religious practice is not sacred just because someone believes it to be. Elijah mocked the false prophets of Baal when they failed to summon their gods. We don’t ridicule for ridicule’s sake, but we might do it if it helps someone to see the absurdity of their position and turn them toward the true God. Mocking correctly is difficult and may not be appropriate most of the time, but sometimes it is.

Latter-day Saints believe that the “works” train up our hearts and minds to be closer to God and add to our willingness to receive what God has prepared. We cannot earn or merit entrance to the Kingdom of God. But we must be willing. To have a broken heart and a contrite spirit requires that we do what God has asked. The following is from Dieter F. Uchtdorf and may be of help: “every one of us is unworthy to return to God’s presence. Even if we were to serve God with our whole souls, it is not enough, for we would still be “unprofitable servants.” We cannot earn our way into heaven; the demands of justice stand as a barrier, which we are powerless to overcome on our own. But all is not lost. The grace of God is our great and everlasting hope. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the plan of mercy appeases the demands of justice “and [brings] about means unto men that they may have faith unto repentance.”

We believe that if you want rewards in heaven you have to EARN THEM and are not just given to them like the lazy people believe its called EFFORT. did Jesus just preach about healing or did he go and lead by example, did he just talk about raising the dead or did he go and do it, Did he sit on his ass and just preach about glorifying God or did he show us how to do it ourselves, ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

In the Introduction to the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism wrote, “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.” Temple rituals, underwear with sewn in Masonic symbols, the practice of polygamy, are not in the Book of Mormon. Also you will not learn who the Mormon god is from the Book of Mormon. Smith did not reveal the god of Mormons is an exalted man until 14 years after he wrote the Book of Mormon.

Amazing that in the first 60 seconds both the question person and the respondent would bring up "demon worship". Mathew 10:25..."It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? ". Less than a minute later he calls unchristian things that are literally biblical!

We couldn't care less whether other churches believe we are Christian or not. We believe that Jesus Christ was the literal son of God and that he died for our sins. Only through him can we obtain salvation. John MacArthur didn't listen very well when he talked to Robert Millet because he completely misrepresented our doctrine or embellished it almost to the point of dishonesty. I'm sure he was disingenuously kind at their meeting and didn't tell Brother Millet that he was just going to talk trash about our faith after their discussion.

That's what the Bible says and that's what Christian theologians have taught. In fact, they don't even know where any of it took place. I'm a Latter-day saint, and I was very confused by this. Only about half of what he said sounded familiar, and he also seemed determined to make it sound as bad as possible. I'll admit right off the bat that I could be wrong, but this just sounded to me like another example of someone straw-manning when they don't want to understand an alternative point of view.

The Bible is clear that if any man claims to be speaking on behalf of God and bringing a new revelation to people, this man should also prophesy so that we can examine his prophecies, to see if he is truly speaking from God. Unless the prophecies are all true, this man should be rejected as a 'false prophet' If you examine the prophecies of Joseph Smith you will not find a single one that is accurate and will find that he had a 100% hit rate for false prophecy. After that, you don't need to be confused by whether or not someone has been accurately explaining the LDS's 'regularly shifting & changing doctrine. JS was a false prophet, if you chose to keep following him, then you are knowingly believing a lie and I doubt that this is something you would 'knowingly' do?

If you came away with the point of view that Mormonism teaches a different Gospel, a different Jesus and a different God, then you came away with truth. If you don't see the differences, that's a problem that you need to sort out for yourself. Here's a cautionary word for you: when you look to sources other than the Bible, you become vulnerable to believing just about anything. When you read the Bible, keep in mind that every verse of Scripture has to be evaluated in light of the totality of Scripture.

It is simple, not confusing! Why do they leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? because they do not believe the doctrine, are not willing to live by the teachings, do not know the teaching, or perhaps they are offended by someone, there are millions of reasons why people leave a religion! But do they have to degrade or put down something that they themselves are not willing to be a part of? Jesus Christ established his Gospel with 12 Apostles and Prophets. His established organization, called in his name, with his ordinances and covenants! We have the choice to live His Gospel, keep his ordinances and Covenants, and follow the Apostles and Prophets. If we choose not to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ we void the Blessing of the ordinances and covenants, we do not follow the counsel of the Prophets and Apostles! What are the results of choosing not to? What are the results of choosing to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Choices can and will condemn us or Choices can bless us for eternity! If you look up in the dictionary the term EX means to remove or separate from! With that term, they are removed or separated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I think if Jesus were here, he’d have to tell the parable of the “Good Mormon” as many Christians seem to think as poorly of us as the Pharisees thought of the Samaritans. Which was neighbor? As far as I’m concerned this guy is a sinner like me, full of weakness like me and like all of us. I see videos from him all the time shooting his machine gun left and right saying you’re not Christian and you are not Christian! Did anyone bother to ask him: Now, tell me about you and your religion, who gave you the authority to say who’s Christian? One may say, “ He knows the scriptures in the Bible “ Then the next question is : Who can guarantee that his interpretation of the Bible is the right one?? Why is there so many Churches in the world today? Why is there so many Bibles? Jesus Christ Gave his all for us! He love us and gave us his Gospel! If it is my Church then it called in my NAME “Jesus Christ”! +Ephesians 1:1 + Ephesians 2:19-20 “ Organization” +Psalm 50:5 + Psalm 149:1 “ Congregation of Saints” Add these verses up and what do you get? Is it one fold “congregation”, one Sheppard “Jesus Christ”? Is religious organizations confusing? Why do we have so many Bibles, and churches? In Revelations 22:18-19 have we opened the plagues unto the world by having so many Bibles and churches? What about Revelations 22:22? How does it affect Ephesians 2:19-20, and us today? Yes! Pastor MacArthur is worth $14 million which he earned solely as a "minister." I prefer people who talk about what THEY believe vs what they think other folks believe. I've talked to Evangelicals who disparage Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, 7th Day Adventists and yes, even other Evangelicals! You should just stick with what you believe, folks.

Paul did not believe in any of that. 1. Paul is not saying that there are three heavens or even three levels of heaven. In many ancient cultures, people used the term heaven to describe three different “realms”-the sky, outer space, and then a spiritual heaven. Paul was saying that God took him to the “spiritual” heaven-the realm beyond the physical universe where God dwells. The concept of different levels of heaven may have come in part from Dante’s The Divine Comedy in which the poet describes both heaven and hell as having nine different levels. The Divine Comedy, however, is a fictional work. The idea of different levels of heaven is foreign to Scripture. 2. Paul never said to baptize for the dead. Even pagans believe in a resurrection. The whole chapter is about the surety of the resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:29: “Otherwise, what will THEY do, those being baptized on behalf of the dead? If the dead are not at all raised, why indeed are THEY baptized on behalf of the dead?” We do know by comparing it with the rest of Scripture that it does not mean that a dead person can be saved by someone else being baptized on his or her behalf, because baptism is not a requirement for salvation in the first place (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 3:28; 4:3; 6:3-4). The entire passage (vv. 12-29) is about the surety of the resurrection, not about baptism for the dead. The plain meaning of the Greek in verse 29 is that some people are being baptized on behalf of those who have died-and if there is no resurrection, why are they doing this? Paul is referring to a pagan custom (notice he uses "THEY," not "we"). His take is a weird mix of truth and half-truth sprinkled with condescension. No wonder he has such an unfavorable view of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My advice is to come and see for yourself. Do the doctrine and you will know for yourself. No argument is ever stronger than the testimony born of the Holy Ghost. Learn for yourself. Then ask Heavenly Father for direction and understanding. Does anything else ever matter more than what He tells you?

God has spoken and you reject His revelation. Your feelings are irrelevant. The Muslim has feelings too, that doesn’t make their god real. Repent and turn to the true Christ as He has revealed Himself in the Holy Bible which has been preserved throughout all ages. Come to the faith “once for all delivered to the saints” Jude 1:3 come to the Church which the gates of hell will never prevail against like the false prophet Joseph Smith said they did. Come to the one and only true eternal God in repentance for your idolatry of imagining He is like you, a creature. Read Isaiah chapters 40-48 and ask yourself if that is the god you believe in.

11 Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. (1 Corinthians) ~ whereas, the scripture you have quoted applies to a specific case and not all cases. One helpful rule when reading scripture is to consider who is being spoken to and why.

Followers of Jesus Christ, no matter what denomination, love their fellow human beings and support them. It is not appropriate to openly mock the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or other Churches. This video is NOT the Mormon Religion in a nutshell. You will not see Mormons openly discuss or mock the beliefs of other Churches..rather they engage other faiths in honest and meaningful discussion about church doctrine….if you disagree with my comments regarding this video, I welcome your feedback….

I have heard nothing from this Dr. MacArthur that is in any way accurate as to what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints belive and practice. Not only is he distorting truths but deliberately lying about another religion. Nothing in this recording is true. A question the listener should ask is why is he lying so much about this one religion. I would find out from the source, the L.D.S. church, what they believe.

@@cynthiaerickson3646 sorry, if you think what he said was 💯% accurate then you aren’t being honest, especially if you have done your research. Question: have you actually read the Book of Mormon in its entirety or just read books about the Book? If not, your 1000s of hours of research has a huge gap. Don’t worry, many HAVE read it and came to the conclusion that it is not from God, we won’t be offended, that’s your call. I have learned that we must live by faith and that with both the Bible and Book of Mormon there will always be just enough evidence to believe or not believe. That’s why we don’t trust any man or woman on these matters, we work it out with God. The LDS church sure does to be a threat to some people. It’s almost either Heaven or hell is behind it. Why do I sometimes feel that Christian’s don’t evangelize Mormons out of love and concern for our salvation? A few have but most don’t.

@@cynthiaerickson3646 one more thing, if Mormons say McArthur is not being honest, are you asserting we Mormons are lying about our faith? Even when almost every Mormon would assert that this video is deceiving at best? I am truly interested to know if you think Mormons are liars themselves.
