This is the entire Mormon Temple Endowment Ceremony (with movie) that is in every temple in the world except the Manti, Utah and Salt Lake City, Utah temples. (Those two temples have temple workers act out the endowment ceremony instead of showing a movie in those two temples.)
Mormons believe they must wear special underwear (which can only be purchased in special Mormon Church owned stores) and learn secret Masonic handshakes in order to go to Heaven.
Take special note of the "Law of Consecration" that is at the 58:40 mark. Mitt Romney has sworn to obey this oath countless times. My sister had that experience of feeling ill. The binding I'm referring to is the last handshake, the sure grip, that is performed through the veil, where you say a pledge to the covenant with blood and the marrow of your bones and also pledge your posterity. My sixth generation Mormon father always told me that people died so that I could "know the truth". My family also referred to it as being born in the covenant, or under the covenant. I'm a former bishop who left the church two years ago while serving on the High council. I was an active member for almost 40 years, serving in many leadership roles on the stake and ward level. My wife and I had our names taken off the membership rolls of the church a few months ago. Just think outside the box and you will see how false the church is! Read Acts 7. God does not dwell in temples made by men. Yes, there is a newer ceremony than this, but this video tells you what goes on. The church uses fear to control you. Well, they invite me to the visitors to do my family tree which is awesome to see who and where you came from. We finish and go walk the temple grounds and they explain everything about the temple in a very very pg rated way but the whole time I'm thinking this is friggin weird. I go to bed, wake up and do some further digging into "sealed" marriages and the requirements to get a temple recommend and what questions exactly are answered to gain approval. I knew there is now way my mormon friends would give me the full truth. I didn't experience abuse nearly bad as you two likely did, I got the Catholic flavor instead but my family did weaponize the faith to justify hitting us and giving us the classic Catholic guilt trips the exact same way my grandma did to my dad and he harbored resentment for her most of his life but here he is doing the exact same to the son he is supposed to protect. My beef isn't with the Catholic church, really just my father and his mother. I really don't talk much with my father but he thinks we're all cool, deep down I want to put him in a muay Thai clinch and drop knees on his face until he drops, spit on his unconscious body and walk away and not give a single shit because of what he did to not only me but my brother and my mom as well. Im an ex mormon and have been in the temple and done baptisms for the dead, it was nothing like this, but actually quite fun and a great experience. This is the stuff they are more secretive about. I never got to do this because i left when i was 18 before i went on a mission. This is some crazy shit... Watching this gives me a new understanding of the classic Battlestar Galactica series. The opening scenes of the endowment movie, with the outer space shots, are identical to the opening titles of the original Battlestar Galactica series. The music is the same. The origins of multiple Earths is explained. The Satan here is almost exactly like John Colicos' Baltar: the facial expressions, costume, the laugh, the manipulative dialogue, everything. I have very foggy memories of being abused as well by at least one family member it was my great grandfather on my mother's side. He was a prominent member of the mormon temple. But my parents also sent me there sometimes for weeks or even a month at a time. After I was grown my mom told me that he had m*lest*d my grandmother (her mother) when she was a child I also have a lot of very fuzzy memories of being taken from their house by elders of the church then waking up back at my great grandparents as if nothing had happened. It's like repressed memories there but not I can't quite grasp them but I know something bad happened to me.
