Side note: when New Age teachers talk about "raising your frequency/vibration," this always confuses me. I'm assuming they're referring to chakras, but the metaphor is odd. I'm a musician, and in music you don't want all your frequencies to be high (think of the squeak of a piccolo vs the low C on a cello). You need all of them or the orchestration is lopsided.

As someone who is very spiritual - what you are saying is dead on. It’s the point of view of “god”, that the beauty of human life is in the highs and the lows, just like a song. But from human to human, it’s a far more comfortable experience if we are choosing to always be in a “high frequency”. We are both the sculptor, and the sculpture.

This does not explain the situation totally in my mind. Whatever that string or radio is tuned, it will vibrate in sympathy to that frequency. More spiritual frequncies are said to vibrate at a higher frequency, so if you want to connect with a spiritual frequency, you naturally need to raise your frequency. The thing is in this day and age everybody is pretty lobsided towards their lower frequencies, so they are totally disconnected from the spiritual realities. There is a danger for some spiritual people that they only focus on certain spiritual high frequencies and therefore become disconnected from physical reality. But one needs to realize also that there are higher octaves that bring you back to the same old chakras or notes, but in a higher more advanced way. There is talk about approaching the physical realm in a totally different manner, I believe this is possible.

Earth is dense matter with low frequency. Negative emotions have low frequency. Joy has a much higher frequency than sadness. New Age teaches ( so to speak) to align to higher frequencies which are the ones of the Spirit realms. The higher the frequency, the higher in the spirit realm it is. If you want to take a deep dive into this subject, check Penny Pierce " Frequency". I consider it a load of crap, but many people don't

@@alessandrarotunno8182 what does it mean that an emotion has low frequency though, that it vibrates/cycles fewer times per second than other emotions? I'm assuming it's just metaphorical.

I just have to say that if you are truly on the awakening path at some point your intuition kicks in to say listen to all things with discernment. I was opening myself up to all things that I have never known before. It was scary but exciting!! Take what you need from those who share their thoughts and keep it movin. I was raised Mormon and found Teal Swan on my path. She provided a lot of insight which put me on a quest for more knowledge. After leaving the church why would I go follow someone else and go down that same path of having someone else’s tell me how to live. I am great for the New Age and being raised Mormon. From what I have studied about church history we are not to far off from New Age thinking. I’m disappointed in this interview because it’s a lil judgmental about those who really seek to know the truth we don’t all end up hopeless, some of understand how powerful we are and love ourselves. It’s not easy but it’s worth it!

"Why I am no Longer a Lightworker" is the title of the article, not a statement regarding myself. You just saw the word "lightworker" and got triggered, so obviously you are still under their spell and unknowingly giving them your energy like just about everyone else who hasn't transcended duality. The fact that teal did this to him knowing he had a young daughter is disgusting. Teal is a malignant narcissistic succubus parasite with a sociopathic lack of empathy. She is devoid of love and compassion, filled with an over sense of self. She thinks she is a god. She is smug and self righteous. Rein carnation is real--but we have no clue of it's commonality, breadth of experience, etc--we have only anecdotal evidence: the boys who remembered being pilots in WW2--one Japanese, one American--who could describe their aircraft, its maintenance, mechanics, their experiences, deaths, and the American pilot could talk in detail about his buddies in the service, their biggest secrets that only their buddy knew. They were convinced the little boy was their friend. And there is the Irish mom of 8 who died in childbirth and was reincarnated in the US... And the English girl who knew all about temple life in Egypt and could pronounce ancient Egyptian--something no one could do any longer. And then all those Civil War reinactors who regressed under hypnosis, successfully identifying tag numbers, how they died, where... My nephew was constantly telling my mom how he was the grandfather before he was a kid. Like, "Respect me, I was a grandparent before I came here as a kid!" He was three. It unnerved her, but she began to believe him even tho she had been taught it was silly. I found references in the Bible tho they tried to scrub it clean of all references to reincarnation. But knowing some people were reincarnated does not tell us anything about how common it is or whether we all are reincarnated or how often. This cult leader uses anything and everything to manipulate people for profit. I can't be allowed to denigrate things that we know are true regardless of how uncomfortable this makes some people, their religious faith...

Good points! In my experience all this ”new age stuff” does have an element of truth to them, a bit like Jesus is def speaking from a place of awakened humanity in the way he is quoted in the new testament. In my experience too past lives def do exist in some way. I think the key element here is that we stay open and in awe and gratitude rather than identifying and claiming to KNOW based on our own perceptions of these truths/things. We simply do not know and noone owns this. Trouble is that the dynamics of narcissism/fakery always seems to hijack whatever is important to people, thus getting what that mechanism needs to feed on and live. So it happens in sects and cults and dysfunctional family systems and organizations and bullying dynamics and war and any madness going on. War. Corruption. Fraud. You name it. To me it is useful to see someone like Teal Swan (and many other “gurus”) as well as your everyday bully in that light. These are very strong yet very immature and unaware beings. Victims of their own (cluster b type) mechanism. It is us who need to be the adults and learn discernment, to see through, recognize and understand these dynamics. Then we can take steps to free ourselves, not be ensnared and to protect others. Thank you for this excellent and helpful testimony!!!

A lot of people have problems communicating and loving well. As he describes. He recognizes he was a “nightmare”. And he changed dramatically. This is a very common problem. All we have to do is try to have a robust argument on the internet and people abuse agressively. Extremely rigid rules. It is as if sociopaths run things. There is controversy about those labels. The sickest people are narcissism experts so it is difficult to know who is who. Jesus said he came to bring sinners to repentance. And not for the righteous.

What makes some people (like Teal) so insidious is that they mix legit truth with BS. Many of Teal’s videos are very helpful for people learning to self analyze their own motivations and behaviors, as well as those of others. And then she tells you suicide is just a reboot…. Then her behavior behind the scenes. Every few months a new husband. Her “friends” who live in the Costa Rica commune all seem like kicked puppies and her clearly the dominant one. And why leave the US like Jim Jones? Even before seeing this interview I had a bad feeling about her, but didn’t want to be judgmental. And now hearing her behavior…. Damn, I could make her a playlist of her own videos addressing her behavior, starting with the one where she points out that victims are the glorified innocents in our culture, so people identify with victimhood to collect sympathy and attention because a victim is never wrong or responsible for anything that goes wrong.

This interview is so eye opening. Growing up in Lethbridge, AB, I had many Mormon friends, and heard from a lot of them that they had to repress themselves to fit in at home or at church.Thanks for being brave and breaking the silence and shame that so often surrounds these topics. I'm sure it's going to help destigmatize this kind of religious conditioning for others when they decide to break free from the imposed ideas of purity and belief. Also, thanks for clarifying that crystals and other new age therapy modalities can be a way to live a happy well adjusted life. (At around 47:00.) I escaped a cult in India, and left Catholicism (which I was born into) but find peace and happiness playing with things like crystal healing and doing other "new agey" things, like reading Tarot cards and studying about Astrology. I believe it's possible to be "spiritual but not religious" without becoming completely taken over by a New Age cult, yet find that a lot of the critical thinking, ex-cult experts advocate a completely atheistic stance. It's refreshing to hear that a middle ground is also okay.

Holy smoke, this is incredibly INTENSE! I mean, I laughed, I sobbed, I wanted to just .... what, just hug that poor dude. Jeez. I related to so much of what he's gone through, AND I want to thank him for talking about suicide the way he did. I have been there, too. I have been in many of the emotional places he's been, and I'm an athiest, never joined a true cult, the number of times I've been in a church probably doesn't exceed 100 (and I'm 58). This is not limited to mormonism or even religions. And I've been blamed and berated soooo many times by the most important people in my life for having attempted suicide during one very bad period of my life ... and I often try to explain WHY it's not selfish and attention-seeking etc etc (this is what my people tell me suicide is), but they don't believe me. They're so certain it's just bad behavior that I halfway agree and use it to beat myself up with more. It's nuts. But watch this guy talk about suicide, and there's no way you can reasonably call it selfishness and attention-seeking. He thought he was bad; he was trying to stop hurting people; he couldn't even breathe with the amount of emotional pain he was in 24/7; that was the only solution he could find. Dang it. That's what it feels like. His discussion ought to be part of an education campaign to help non-suicidal people understand that it's not about THEM, for gosh sake. To help them feel a little of what it really is to be suicidal. Maybe it would help build some empathy.
@qwandary
@qwandary 2 жыл бұрын
I always tell people suicide isn't selfish and the core thought most of us have is 'I'm bad and hurting people just by existing and I can't fix that besides not existing'. It's also in a strange way, linked to the survival drive we all have, making us want to find any way to live without unbearable pain, even if the only chance of 'living' that is by not living. A lot of people don't get that because they apply too much logic to instinctive drives and illogical mental illness (illness is barely logical on its own, let alone mental). To claim it's selfish ignores the nature of illness, mental illness specifically and the thoughts of us hurting others by existence and guilt for being here. It's not about escaping, it's often about saving others.

Any organized religion is a cult in one form or another on one level or another; Mormonism is no different. I do not believe in much of anything that Teal Swan says. You guys are not total authorities on these subjects either. If a person wants to be an individual, it has to be understood that any one of all or any groups can be suspect of coercion, again, on one level or another. That includes any organized religion. That includes Mormonism.

He kinda opened up to me and implied that he was having a hard time and I finally figured out he was talking about masturbating and I looked at him and said I am sure God has bigger things to worry about then a 12 year old masturbating and just gave him good information on boundaries and the right ages and respect around sex in proper ways when he was older and he seemed like a load came of him and he told me he felt much better. Teal Swan provides psychological and relational perspectives that are sound. I do not experience her as a cult leader. I experience her as I do other therapists I listen to. I was born and raised in Utah, in a Catholic family. I do experience Mormonism as far more cult like than Teal Swan. Why? I am shunned, persuaded, ostracized by a Teals tribe or videos. All of which I have endured in Salt Lake. Mormons have no qualms in telling me "if you don't like it here leave". Frankly, I did that but returned because my children and a grandchild live here. While, I'm not LDS, I do value family, not because I was brainwashed into that but because it feels right and healthy for me and my family.

Why is it wrong for a person to play out the tape- to not just stop their thoughts at suicide but to visualize how their mother will feel finding their body Why is it wrong to ask a suicidal mom to picture how her children will feel after she abandons them? Why someone’s parents would blame their child’s suicide on the fact that they were asked to basically ‘consider others’ is RIDICULOUS. My life was ruined by my mother’s selfish suicide. I wish for one second she could have visualized the pain and anguish her 13 yr old would feel at her abandonment by her mother. How by bringing kids into the world you are making a un verbal promise to try your hardest to be there for them and to protect them from pain- Not to ever be the cause of her babies pain. I wish with all my heart my mother could have just for one second The pain she was causing her children instead of her own codependency on men and her own self absorbed self Play out the whole tape, not just stop at the relapse at doing drugs, but to go ahead and play out what happens afterwards : getting arrested,dying,who they’re gonna hurt when they are found and I don’t see why telling a suicidal person to picture what will happen after they kill themselves as anything except a way to save Innocent lives such as my own from mental illness and addiction and immense terrible shame and guilt and feeling pain of a parent’s suicide I would never ever want my children to feel the pain of my suicide. I could never be so selfish. Suicide is so very very insane- it’s so self absorbed and so painful for the people left

I think that real medical intuitives don't feel the need to announce and explain themselves to the world and just stick to themselves instead. His struggles remind me of someone close to me who I love. We are both autistic and ADHD, and we both have trouble with people telling us what to do (side note my grandpa has ADHD and he would sometimes quit jobs by literally punching the boss) and both have had lots of jobs that we quit suddenly for emotional reasons. This is a common struggle for ADHD folks. And we’re also more prone to suicidal depression due to a lifetime of shame dealing with the symptoms of our untreated ADHD that we didn’t know about. It’s been better for me lately because I’ve been diagnosed and doing research and getting counseling, and it helps with alleviating the shame, cuz now I know that my brain just works in its own unique way that looks different than most.
