Join me on my first multi day trek back after a frustrating 2 years of injury. The trail is the Mortimer Trail from Ludlow in Shropshire to Kington on the borders with Wales in Herefordshire.
The start out of the blocks is good with mixed woodland/forest and even company to walk with as we reach the views at High Vinnals in the Mortimer Forest. I continue onto my camp. But do I succeed in reaching camp where I once camped with my dear late identical twin brother Paul? Watch the video to find out.

Good to see you getting out again after such a long time, Mark. Following a trail that few of us would know. Beautiful! Memories of Paul and fantastic to hear that your book is another step closer to being published. I hope you suffered no great pain the day after this trail and that you're able the continue hiking through the year. All the best.

At last i took some time to sit down to relax and enjoy your video Mark, and it did not disappoint . I didn't realise it had been two years since your last time on the trail, my god i am climbing the walls if i am at home for 4 to 6 weeks without the mountains. Hope your book does get published because i for one would definitely want to read it. You don't need to shout for Paul because he walks by your side every day, he is now your spirit guide. I lost someone very dear to me many years back and i know she's always around, you can just sense it, especially at times of danger. Hope the foot and shin are not giving you to much stick, cant wait for part 2. As you say, Peace, take care my friend. Bill and his flea bags.

Hi there Bill. So pleased you enjoyed this one bro. Yeah, 2 years. It was a very bad old injury that's morphed into Arthritis. So, it's been complicated but with determination all muscles surrounding it are getting super strong - we don't bail on things. Oh, I know Paul is with me Bill. I call his name out moreover because I like to hear it. I used it for 48 years. For sure your dear friend/partner/wife is right there and you're absolutely correct she is a presence, a feeling and will show herself as does Paul. Well, off back out on the 30th June for a longer one - heading for them long trails. Hope to hook up some day this year - would be great. All the best as always - to you all. Mark

A splendid and varied landscape Mark and what a feeling to spend a night out again. Hi Mark, can tell how much you really enjoyed this first day of the Mortimer trail, camping where you and your bro did 10 years ago and what a spot right next to the river and then seeing a dipper early morning, what a coincidence meeting the couple who live near the source of the lugg, must have given you a real boost, memorable trip so far cheers nigel

Hi Nige, yeah I was stoked to be out and to be bac k at the old camp site. It's funny I got up because of a noise then saw the Dipper. As for the Lugg people that was amazing. It won't leave me in a hurry this hike. Thanks bro. I saved your recent upload last night - will watch tomorrow. All the best. Mark

Finally Mark I'm back and watched undisturbed with lunch 😃The castle is so old, 11th century wow and great about the Mortimer trail and so good you are feeling good :) Gorgeous day, the river Teime looks lovely with people in it. We love woodland walks like that, so peaceful apart from the ticks ! Steve was lovely 😃 That was interesting about the skips and the Ella bar, so you go to skips often ? Great idea 😃 and i like the sound of your trail box. That old farm building looked interesting and nice chat with Tim. That's a gorgeous forest and so quiet ! This is such a real historic place with the Iron Age Hillfort in the area and beautiful footage of the Whimble and Radner Forest. Great memories with that photo of Paul at the doorway. The Riverside Inn looked so nice and i loved your campspot, so hidden and loved the dawn chorus. Nice footage of Paul swimming and then you this time. Your book sounds great, sounds like you both had it bad. Food sounded great especially the fruit cake. Over 14 miles with an injury was great and its good that you came back with your good memories of Paul, you can tell how much you miss him. This was really good to watch. I can't leave another like so i will leave this 🙌 :) ~ Anna

Hi there Anna, thanks so much for your return and for an awesome comment. I'll speak of one area of it and that's the wild camp and swim. So glad you liked the clip of Paul. We spent all day there - I had to get in myself. The camp later in 2013 was great. I loved the feeling and sense of being there with my dear bro. So pleased you enjoyed this one. @@WyeExplorer Hey Mark...I know you like a good "strange coincidence" 😁 I liked your "mellow as a cello" line you came out with in your video, but hadn't heard it before.
