that brought back some memories, it was like one of the rides home in my 53 Studebaker truck with a muncie 4 speed when the hydraulic slave cylinder that was never welded in there right would drop out on the clutch, I would be grinding servos and running stop signs all the way home. I've even had a couple of hood flying up episodes too. when it came down it stabbed a hole in my radiator and I had the overheating going on too

Most people would have just lit it on fire to stay warm while waiting for rescue. However, you somehow managed to get this thing that far AND back home again. Lots of steam/smoke, gear grinding, hood falling off, unable to stop or start properly yet it still got you there and back. I was half expecting the rear end to fall out again. As terrible as it is, you have to admire that you were able to get it driving again and that you/Duff/it actually survived it.

You outdone yourself there, son. I seen you do sketchy, but this takes it to NOT a whole new level, but something WAYYYYY above that. No bed in the tray, half a rear fender, tree still embedded between cab and tray (well, at least it gives you something solid to bolt the tray to), holes in the floor, doors that won't latch, no clutch, bluetooth brakes, waterpump that only pumps water out of the engine, hood that plays peek-a-boo when you hit 30mph.... Best part of that whole rig has gotta be that slant 6. Didn't even have to tart up the carb and she ran! ....and that CHAMP of a starter that gave everything it could after you woke it up - it should have been given an award. Poor old box sounded pretty dry in gear - especially on over-run....but she still did the job, so there must be a tablespoon of oil or so left in there. Great video, Mortske. Enjoyed seeing her come back to life and laughed along when you went for a blast in the beast. Nearly fell off my chair when the hood came off, but even more so when I realised that Duff had bailed before YOU did and then didn't want to stay in the cab when you wanted to get moving again! That dog surely has a sense of comic timing - and I know that Spaniels in particular have a very warped and ironic sense of humour. My family bred Springers, Cockers and Irish Waters for generations and a more loyal yet independent thinker (at least as far as what they want to do goes) with such an expressive face is a hard thing to find. You make a good team. Just a pity he's no good at manual labour and prefers to supervise with both eyes closed. I suppose that's a good thing in some ways, though! Had an all around crappy day today. Lost a potential job offer I had been really looking forward to starting. But, good ol Motske comes through with a new upload to keep my mind occupied and keep me entertained. And a Mopar even!

Another good thing about 225 is that parts for them are super cheap and plentiful when compared to some other older engines.

OH, MY SIDES ARE KILLING ME...Duff bailed out and hood blows off (obviously due to insane speeds!)...and Duff, with his safety co-pilot training, "blows his ejection seat and hits the proverbial silk...SO FUNNY, then the body work - PRICELESS!!!! You and he are the BEST !!!!!!

225 Slant 6's are the best engines! totally bulletproof, In 1978, drove up the Alaskan highway in a 1969 Plymouth Valiant sedan 4 door, from the Quad Cities, Iowa/Illinois to Anchorage, Alaska, That car purred like a kitten, and was faster than hell! It was so reliable, got great mileage, would not go 55, wanted to go 79 to 83 ,for max torque, and smoothness of the rear axle ratio. I wish I still had it, army green

And they pull mileage too!

20 years ago, I had a third hand 1977 Power Wagon 4X4 crew cab with that slant 6.. I bought it with 30,000 original miles. It was an old Civil Air Patrol truck, olive green with big white numbers painted on the roof. It had spent it's C.A.P. years down in the coastal salt environment. Every time I hit a bump, the front cap would jump up about 4 inches. When I sold it, the engine & transmission were the only systems still working.

the way you include Duff in everything, is awesome. He's so animated, as well. :)
