Welcome to Pat's Adventures & Travels!
What do you do when you have COVID and are home alone and bored? Install your bike's Christmas present of course!
If you catch COVID from watching my video I do apologize.
As for my mistake. I had put the adapter plate on the bike backwards lol. My go to mistake. If there is a way to get something backwards I'll find it!
My page features my rides all over the United States and Canada.
I'll also be doing many "how to's" on various maintenance items, as well as, adding farkels!
I'll be exploring small towns and talking about the town's history along the way.
When I can I'll be adding Google Map links to the comments or descriptions of my videos so you can take the same adventure I did if you feel like it.
Thanks for coming here and please hit that subscribe button!

I'm going to be ordering the 35L X 2 bags for my 2023 Yamaha Super Tenere 1200 ES. I've been researching bags for months and settled on these. I ended up buying the Outback Mototek racks for my bike. They were easy to install and with with these soft panniers. Great vid BTW.

Pat, are you still liking the Mosko bags? Any nit pics or annoyances? I’m looking to splurge maybe this winter. And even after researching the competition I’m drawn to the Mosko bags. One question, the adaptor that mounts to the OEM pannier frame would stop me from making a quick change back over to my aluminum panniers should I be in the mood to do so. Have you ever wanted to switch back, if even for a short time? Is it a big deal to remove that plate that bolts to the bike?
@PatsAdventuresTravels
@PatsAdventuresTravels 3 жыл бұрын
As for switching out between hard and soft bags. No matter which side it is bolted to the bike. So it wouldn't be a fast switch. I sold my hard bags so no going back. I am still learning to use them. I have no regrets switching. They do not hold as much as the hard bags and I knew that going in. The best part is I can take the bag off and just carry it into the hotel or camp site with no need to unpack.

I’ve been rewatching many of your videos and am curious, what was your thought process choosing between the bolt on 5-liter bags and the 4-liter molle bag? How do you utilize them on the road? I am unsure which I would choose. I’d appreciate your thoughts. Hope I’m not a pest. Thanks!

Nope you're not a pest. Honestly when I bought the 5 liter bag I thought I was buying a water bladder. Some how I mess it up. But it has been great for storing my plexus and cleaning rags. Nice bags. Have you checked out Bumot Xtremada soft panniers for OEM GSA racks? Awesome bags, tough, lockable, easy attach/detach system, and with more capacity than Moskos... (equal to BMW alu cases). I'd say they are slightly lighter than Moskos too 🤔

I had tossed it around for a long time between the that and the Lonerider bags, but decided I wanted to try the Moskos. Had my bike not come with the BMW hard bags I really wanted the Bumot Hard bags at first. Now that I have learned a bit about safety on these big ADV bikes I'll probably sell my hard bags. @@NachoGS I've looked the BUMOT bags and I really like the ease of switching out hard / soft luggage so quickly. I'm a person likely to do so. I like them. They are stiff to lock and unlock because I believe it just clamps down on the cable. It can help prevent theft but won't stop someone determined to get into the bags. Hello, Pat. Am attempting to decide hard panniers vs. soft for my new 2021 F850GSA. I am new to adventure riding, but have many many years of on-road and dual sport experience. What are the pros and cons? I heard you mention the downside of the hard bags at the end of this video. If it's easier, I can send you my email address and keep the chatter off of here?
@PatsAdventuresTravels

I am a newbie too. I have yet to get to use these bags since it is full on winter here in Ohio. For sheer convenience hard bags are better in my opinion and a little more secure from theft. For me it was mostly about safety. Since I have dropped the bike a couple times I am less likely to get a leg injury from the soft bags over the hard bags was the deciding factor.

Be aware!! If you order from the EU site, YOU must pay the very high import fees! I recommend you ask about this (email them first) before you buy, especially if you plan to use the product soon.
@spaztech

I would like to add to this: I wanted the Mosko Moto Redline Jersey which I ordered in a XXL from the US store (and it was huge) and had to return it. The EU store (Netherlands) had it in an XL, in stock, so I ordered it from there on the 9th and had it on my doorstep on the 13th. That was faster shipping than what I get from their factory in Oregon. Plus the jersey from the US store cost me $49 USD plus $10 shipping. The jersey from the Netherlands store cost me €43. No taxes. No shipping charges. That saved me about $16 USD. So don’t believe all the hype you hear about import fees. There were none.
