My favorite call was when both groups are moving head-on and cap says "Mosquitos to the right, Antons to the left" effectively putting them on a collision course. 😂

The stall characteristics of the 190 were terrible. At high altitude it was worse. They were good at attacking bombers but contrary to the phony german officianotos that say everything german was better it could not dog fight. Pilots were in constant fear of dropping a wing and losing control they never pulled near a stall. Some versions were better than others there were constant improvements that showed potential. It was made in cottage industry and somewhat immune to harassment of bomber raids so development continued right up to the end. Bob said it had a good running engine and flew nice but he could take it with his Mustang any day.

Given the incredible torque of that monster BMW801, I don't doubt it's a danger, but I've never read it specifically noted by a pilot so I'm curious where you did :)

It was the 190F-8 that was A2G. In WW2 the A-8 was optimised for particularly anti-bomber work and shot down a few a Mosquitos.

correct its just the fact that the one in DCS has been modified for A2G and you cant take those bits off, its just called the A8 in DCS

@@hasina1461 true, to be fair, A8s could do A2G, but didn't have the engine tuned for low altitude or the outer cannon removed by default. Otherwise it's the same aircraft. It wouldn't be much effort for ED to provide an A-8 and F-8.

They must have done something to the armor on the German planes without saying anything. No plane should soke up the fire of 4 20mm like that. DCS ww2 damage modeling still is very far from what all the 1st hand accounts describe. ED will keep saying its all about where you hit. But not really, dozens of 20mm will rip a plane apart no matter where you hit. I don't understand why ED can bungle this aspect so badly.

Gun convergence works a little different in all nose mounted armoured planes the cannons are normally angled up to intercept a point to fly through the machine gun rounds so both can land on the same point on a target. Obviously what ever you have the convergence set to is the point at which both calibres intercept

@@hasina1461 Indeed, however its not as, shall we say, aggressive a convergence and subsequent divergence as wing mounted weapon packages. Even taking into account the different mass from the cannon to machine gun ballistic profiles. Love the warbird fights, they are so less forgiving when things go sideways. Really good flying btw Hasina, its always good to see you turn up with propellors on hand.

That map is so nice! So much detail. I never noticed any lag or frame rate drop. I have to choose between this map and the Sinai map because I don't have enough hard drive space for both. I did see a video where they showed how to put your maps on another drive and run it from two drives. I need to do that. I got a 2.3 TB drive ordered, who knows when it will be in. In the mean time...

and that's the difference between DCS and IL2. Aircraft (especially some German ones) have so much nose authority that you can just point and snapshot when you're good. those little openings get you killed all the time

Hey Cap, this recent development begs for your attention - Storm Shadow missiles strapped to Ukrainian aircraft and how much influence they can have. They will force Russians to move missile defenses closer to the frontline thus making them more susceptible to harm missiles that Ukrainians already had. It in itself is creating so many new options.... Another aspect to this story is which platform will (or actually - was) integrated with the Storm Shadow system. Su-24 would be the best, but it is questionable if Ukrainians have any of them left; Su-27 would be optimal, but some reliable sources are suggesting that a certain unnamed Ukrainian neighbour to the west was working hard with British on making MiGs 29 capable of missions they were not designed for.... and coincidentally, a sizable batch of those MiGs were transferred to Ukraine recently...

I think overall the Fw190 has it over the mosquito cap had the advantage for most of the fight against me but I just kept my cool didn’t panic and was patient. Just relying on my pilot skills and waiting for the right moment to try and get a good shot. As you saw in the 1v1’s it’s was pretty even results wise.

Super tough, super fun fight both pilots have to show allot of discipline to fly both these aircraft in these conditions. Good flying all around. Maybe I should have done a 1v1 in the anton against someone who won in the Mosquito to see if that changed anything

A20-G vs german equivalent? Or Beu-fighter vs german equivalent? Why? Because once you get tail gunners and or dorsal gunners involved, things will probably get interesting with the dogfights. Or at least from my experience playing War Thunder that is the case. However, I know DCS can get things a tad more accurate than War Thunder, and thus why I think it would be interesting to see what results you guys would get. Shouldn’t be too hard to do unless those aren’t in the base game yet. (in which case, War Thunder superior because more vehicle variety) Also, day 2 of me asking for you to do a video on the battle of Wake Island. How much would it have taken to defend wake island long enough for the US Pacific Fleet to get there? How long could they have held out if they had better defenses and larger ammo stores?

FW190 just needs to get height and keep that advantage it also does rate better then the mosquito at 280kph in the turn 24 seconds to do the full 360 compared to the mosquitos 27. It’s just about being able to manage your speed and not panic when you see something on your tail.
