@PETE1760, I don't really like a heat shield. I specifically did not want one. You saw how much shooting I did here, and heat was not a problem. Guess it could be, but I don't like the idea of having to either take it off to wipe down the barrel or else wonder if there's dirt and moisture under there slowly rusting my barrel.

@FoxFavinger9 жыл бұрын
Butters Da Baller That's how it goes man. Keep the one's you shoot and sell/trade the ones you don't. I rarely keep most of my guns for more than a year. Just a few old long guns I keep for sentimental value. Only thing that sucks about that is constantly buying new holsters and magazines! Such is life. It keeps my holster guy in business lol

@shoobadoo1, Thanks. I have a little footage taken about 20 years ago on some VHS tapes somewhere. The problem with trying to get video at those matches was that you were just watching from behind and often not even able to get the targets in the frame. One of these days John is going to convert all that stuff to digital and maybe stick it in a montage. I think maybe there's a short clip of me shooting in a cowboy match or GSSF (Glock) match in one of the Rapid Fire videos or montages.

@ceelfi12 жыл бұрын
1) You're correct, gunfights are very mobile situations and home invasions (where you'd be using a shotgun) usually involve more than one assailant. 2) I wouldn't use a .44 or a .500 because they are are too hard for ME to control in a high speed stressful situation, they throw off WAY too much flash, and are actually louder than a slug gun. 3) You aim EVERYTHING, if you are just pointing buckshot, you are doing it incorrectly. 4) Thank you for your service. It is truly appreciated.

@stillwater625 жыл бұрын
That was great! For new shooters, you don`t get much spread with a slug. I have a Mossberg 590A1, and I have noticed you have to hold an inch, maybe an inch and a half low when shooting one oz. slugs at twenty feet, or a little farther, in order for the slug to hit the point you are aiming at. Something to remember when shooting at close distance, like inside a house.
@topturretgunner2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know that I’d use a slug indoors. The phrase over penetration comes into play in that scenario. You just can’t always choose where you engage the threat and it wouldn’t be good when that heavy slug blows through that wall and hits what’s on the other side. Generally for home defense indoors I don’t use anything heavier than #4 buckshot or high velocity steel BB shot. Both are very effective at room distances.
