Phenomenal shooting with slugs at 80 yards, off hand, with a bead sight no less! I bought my first shot gun at 14, I am 62 now, it was an 870 and have always used an 870. However I have some feeding and ejection problems with newer 870 express shotguns so I am now a Mossberg convert even though my muscle memory is with the 870, that will change. I have a 590 and have just bought a 590-A1 18" barrel marinecoat and will sell my last 870 to finance it. Good vid as always.

I own a Mossberg 590A1 and cannot be but in awe of you ability to shoot so many rounds in such a small time frame and not look like the recoil even remotely bothers you. I am 5'6" tall and weigh 135 lbs and back when I first bought my shotgun I went to the range and fired those 3 inch 00 buck rounds. The first three rounds were bad enough and then I shot 5 rounds in rapid fire. It not only nearly knocked the breath out of me but left me sore for a week, though I'm proud to say that all patterns went straight into the middle of the intended target. My friends (who stand taller and are bigger) didn't even want to try to shoot more than one or two of those rounds each. Hats off to you, sir, for your skills, mental toughness, considerable knowledge and wonderfully refreshing manner in all your videos.

Found this vid while searching for how to field strip a 590A1 and got a real kick from Mr. Hickok. He is one hell of a shooter. Even with a shotgun he's dead on at 80 yards. Wow! I bought my 590A1 over a year ago for home defense purposes and recently got to run it on a tactical course (on two different Sundays). I can tell you that I really love the way it handles. Mine came with ghost ring sights so it makes getting back on target super fast. One of the best $550 I ever spent for a firearm.

The pump is great. The Remington has 2 rails on the action slide. I think that's what makes people think it's better. Because you're not putting force on just one rail on one side. I can assure you, the Mossberg will survive, even if it feels like it won't.

I am so happy with my 590A1. TN was the deciding factor. Watching him "sandblast" his targets with it made me so jealous, I went out the next day and got one. Ghost ring sights are amazing, and the bayonet had to be purchased. It looks even better in person than it does in this video. Maybe it's just because it is yours you are looking at, but my shotgun/bayonet combo is amazing. Zombies will run from me if they see me with it. It is just that fearsome. I will put a vid up soon. Thanks Hickok!

Well, I'm 10 years too late but I finally joined the Mossberg family and got a 590A1. No bayonet lug on mine so I'll have to endure the zombie apocalypse without that option but otherwise I think I'm good to go!!!

If Hickok45 can teach us anything, it's that age truly is just a number. He shoots better than most people. Obviously he's got competition experience, but this gives me hope for when I get older haha, well done Hickok!

I've never seen someone shoot a variety of different weapons so well... Great job and good video!

I've watched this video several times. I'm still in awe of how good of a shot you are. I've got LPA rifle sights on my 590a1 SP and I can't do that at less than half the distance.

Awesome video Hickock! The power of a 12 gauge slug is incredible when you put it to a test. I had a 6 inch diameter maple tree I intended to cut down so I tried a slug on it. It blew through that tree and left a huge, gaping hole out the back. It is incredible to see you shoot the slugs with the accuracy of a rifle. They are a blast to shoot but so expensive I decided to purchase equipment and reload my own slugs. Instead of $1 each the cost should come down to about 40 cents each. Thanks

Hickock45 should do cold opens more often. Classic episode.
