Coaches scout in Cincy and thats part of the problem. Its a property franchise that does not have an NFL quality scouting department. Coaches help with other team for sure but thats more them having a say in giving the template of what they want in a guy. In Cincy the Coaches are asked to do touch.

Most disappointing teams 49ers and bengals. Suppose to be fighting for superbowls but might not even make playoffs. Ravens to an extent. They are suppose to be bills chiefs level but they have lost to bad teams and are inconsistent

The coaching staff is bad and compounds their problems. They cannot develop and elevate any position groups. Every aspect of the team that is not Joe and Jamarr is bottom of the league and that's not all due to personnel. Everything you guys said about the changes the front office needs to make is true, but they also need to hire a competent coaching staff. The holes in the roster are exacerbated by the staff's incompetence. The offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, and secondary have generally been awful every year that ZT's staff has been here. They spent more money and made more moves than they've ever made in franchise history to solve those problems and it papered over them for a few years and it was just enough to let Joe and Jamarr take them almost all the way to a Super Bowl title, but within 2 years it's already collapsed and reverted to Taylor's standard. The staff needs to go and the front office needs to modernize and expand staff. I'm not confident in either happening because the problem stems at the top. The same people that let Jessie Bates go, DJ Reader go, Larry Ogunjobi go, struggled to resign Burrow, have failed to resign Higgins, and messed around with Chase's contract are the people that are making these decisions.

Justin Herbert plays like a god but routinely gets let down by his coach and defense from 21-23 and the people blamed him for not overcoming. Now in 2024 the same thing happens to Burrow and it's "poor Joe"? If you probed the internet over these last three years all you would see is quotes of "real quarterbacks overcome and win playoff games like Joe Burrow.
