This might sound really strange, but I absolutely loved this video for more than just the fun comparison of melodicas. I grew up poor as hell and I've always had a desire to learn about music but never had the funds to afford to learn. So every now and again throughout my life I'd try my hand at it in various ways only to ultimately feel sad because there's this sort of pretentiousness around music. It is usually very unwelcoming even in beginner videos. Watching KZbin videos, taking lessons, all it usually does is tell me that I didn't get to start young and I'm uneducated so I don't deserve to play at all. I can tap away at work or sing little songs all I want but I'll never truly know how to play an instrument and I'll never truly understand music the way people who started young do. But this positiveness and cheerfulness about learning to play, about playing a cheap instrument, really lifted my spirits up. This is the first video from this channel I have seen and already I feel differently about trying my hand at music once more. I think the world needs more people like you. Thank you so much for your positivity, your joy here, and for taking the time to make videos and upload them! 👋

Thank you for making this video. We had to rewind the video several times before picking A as the best sound. We really liked the music featured in the entire video as well.

Isnt that expensive one just an Un-glorified accordion

A descant pack inside the instrument might help control the mold. It could be taped in place with masking tape if you don't want it sliding around.

This is the second video I've seen where the same musician plays against him/herself. I have no idea how the performances are synchronized. Are you wearing a hidden bluetooth earbud, maybe in the ear away from the camera?
@MelodicaWorld4 жыл бұрын
Its a filming technique, where you film one person at a time and put it together in post production. A bluetooth earpiece would work, but this was mimed. I recorded it first, and then played along, much easier to get a clear sound for comparison
@tfreixas4 жыл бұрын
@@MelodicaWorld Ah, that was my other question--where were the mics? So you just played the recorded track for each take and then used only the video. No need for a hidden ear bud. Thanks!

Law of diminishing returns. A $3000 melodica isn't remotely near 300 times as nice as a $10 one. Also, $3000 gets you a pretty dang nice used accordion, and an accordion is at LEAST 100 times more versatile than a melodica. Yeah, I said it! Come at me! lol
@ryano.51494 жыл бұрын
@MelodicaWorld, I'm so glad you liked this! I was a bit worried the joking tone wouldn't carry! Peace, love, free-reed aerophones!

What an amazing video. Extremely high quality. I have had a melodica for 4 years and haven't learnt how to play it. I know nothing about music and though I want to learn so bad, I don't know where to begin. I got it because I'm a huge fan of Augustus Pablo. He is my favourite artist. I loved your channel from the first video

I figured [SPOILER] was the cheaper, and I liked it more. The Vibrandoneon has a different kind of beauty, though.

Thanks, that was the most inspiring video about melodicas but also about music or creativity itself that I have seen. Bravo. Great conclusion in the end. I love the enthusiasm you spread. All the best

For the price of that rare super expensive melodica I rather get an accordion!

I love the honesty here, great video all around. Was surprised not only by the lack of stark difference in tonal "quality" (however one defines that lol), but by the fact that upon a close look, I wouldn't even want the expensive one! If I was given one, I'd be selling it that same day lol. Thanks for making this!

Wow the Vibrandoneon has a beautiful tone and you can see why the difference in price. Having said that the cheap plastic one wasn't bad for the price however if you're a musician like I am there's no comparison. I am cat sitting at my son's place over Easter and found his melodica in his studio today. I have never paid much attention to them before but as a pianist decided to have a go. In one hour I was hooked and have decided to buy one. Thanks for your inspiration I have just subscribed as I think I'm going to enjoy this instrument and was surprised at how many different tones I could get just from my breath.

Yes, its a very special instrument isn't it? Great to hear you've decided to give the melodica a go.

Amazing video! Loved the production done to it. The video looks clean and flows good. The sound is just right and the content is very informative! I especially loved the melodica battle! Also, when I first heard the blind test, I preferred the sound of melodica B. It sounded less sharp than the first sample. Looking forward for the next video!

Thanks for the feedback Brandon! Its interesting, I also prefer melodica B in the blind test, but when I hear it playing in the battle, I prefer the Vibrandoneon.

MelodicaWorld ...I had that feeling! I just watched your video of all the melodicas played back to back and I especially love that vintage Hohner soprano...what a sweet sound! I have the Hohner student model and am really surprised at how much I love the tone. It’s like a harmonica and and accordion had a sweet little travel sized baby. Ha ha!

I play the recorder at a very amateur level, self taught in using it and reading notes. I havent played in awhile and thought of trying a new instrument. This looks and sound good. Can't wait for my cheap one to arrive.
