no one can do a markelov like khorkina. it's so smooth her hips are almost even with each other most are lopsided kinda like a mix between a markelov and a Shushunova. She has always been my favorite gymnast. Now everyone does power tumbling and call it artistic gymnastics.

Mukhina should definitely have won gold all alone in 1977, her dismount was perfect whereas Comaneci's wasn't, and her routine was by far the hardest at that time.

pre 1969 female gymnastics was effortless and ballet like now gymnasts perform death defying feats. skinny. jumping twice their heights doing 2 twists and a somersault. how strange.
