If I were the person in the first story, I would quickly divorce the husband cause the dude needs to cut the cord already. What his mom is doing is not okay. That is not nosey that just criminals what she been doing. Husband is treating you badly because you called out his mom for trying to break into your house. That is just not okay

Especially since she walked in on them getting down and dirty *twice* and he has nothing to say about it? That's just...normal to him??? I'd be more concerned about how those siblings were abused growing up if her walking in on them doing the do is just considered 'not weird'.

@agentmaryland1239 nah, that would be a major deal breaker for me, especially if husband is gonna treat wife like shit for not trusting his mom with a house key.

Agreed. He's showing he's clearly not husband material. OP should threaten him with divorce, because if he TRULY loves her, he'll have to decide: Cut all ties with mom/demand she stops snooping in all the time and ONLY come in for emergencies and stay with OP. Or divorce OP and not have another girlfriend or wife, because then all the ladies will hear he's the one with the snooping mother

Op being a doormat to her future mil, I hate to see what would happen if they have a baby, im sure MiL will have a tantrum because of the baby not being the gender she wants or they don’t use the baby name she wants , or don’t let her into the delivery room, she’ll just have another tantrum and turn the family against them again

Story 1: The husband is basically the mother-in-law’s puppet or flying monkey. Story 2: As far as the OP’s lazy, hypocritical, entitled dad and entitled brother are…like father, like son. Which makes the sister-in-law the perfect match for the brother. I do hope both the OP and the mother get away from this family. Story 5: I think you’ve already done this story before.

The third story is stupid . Her son is getting married and she's worried about a dress. What Opie's fiance's family did was not only childish butt I wouldn't want to go to their parties. If they don't want to invite me great have they did all that to him over a dress then just imagine what they would do when you two have kids. Op Opie's fiancee needs to grow a a backbone and tell his family this is not how it's going to go down and if they don't like it then bye

'cos I can guarantee you if the whole family looses their shit over a dress and your 'man' joins in on the gaslighting, then they've got got bigger problems in their closet. Thanks for sharing this crazy experience!

I'm torn on the wedding dress one. Did OP know MIL had already picked that dress for an event after the wedding when she picked it out? I wouldn't even try on a dress that I knew someone had already picked for something. The entire family's reaction gives off that there is more to the story than OP is saying. That's too strong an reaction to just be upset over a dress.

I'm pretty sure OP's husband just said, "I'm a 37 year old married man who is comfortable with my mother walking into my home unannounced and finding me having intimate relations with my wife, but I draw the line at my wife talking about my family in an anonymous forum online." There's a messed up family. If he refuses therapy, divorce him and tell him to move in with his mommy.

Inlaw from the story has been found! It wasn't malicious in any way, she offered to PAY for another. OP's wedding takes priority over some lavish birthday do they probably have EVERY year, she's only gonna marry the guy once. It's also suspicious she kept the receipts for it and had them ready the MOMENT there was an issue. But judging by their behavior over a dress, then that is the least of this families problems. She needs to leave her fiance immediately because he had no balls to stand by her, and get as far away from that toxic environment as possible.

I have to say with the wedding dress one I can see both sides and sound it in a way like the original poster was trying to suddenly make the mother-in-law change her dress because she’s like I said I would take her to go buy a new dress and I’ll pay for it so I can keep mine. Now is it silly that it’s over a dress yes but why should the mother have to replace it when she did, technically by at first, and I have already had to dress in her possession
@agentmaryland1239
@agentmaryland1239 9 күн бұрын
It doesn't matter who bought which one first, but you can't tell someone to change their WEDDING dress because you chose a dress for a BIRTHDAY that is similar. Especially not for a pathetic excuse like "but everyone will think I was just copying you!!!" Who. Cares. Anyone who is so invested in setting trends needs to realize that if you bought a dress from a dress shop and it has duplicates, you're not setting a trend anyway. You're following it. There is literally no argument to be had, the MIL is just being a child.

@@agentmaryland1239 I might have not gotten my playoff correctly. That’s what I was kind of saying, but just to me I know I could’ve worded it better. It sounds like the wife was also trying to do the same thing though.
@agentmaryland1239
@agentmaryland1239 9 күн бұрын
@tylercanales5794 Not entirely or at all. A wedding dress is chosen because of remembering that one day fondly. You want to look the way you planned. Birthdays come every year, marriage is intended to be a once in a lifetime thing. How you look for a birthday doesn't matter unless you're a posh snob who throws extravagant, over the top birthday parties that scream 'attention seeker'. Of course you might want to look your best for a party, but dying on the hill of 'the way I look for this repeatable event is more important than how you look for a one time event you're supposed to look back on with fondness' is just childish behavior. If OP was being a bridezilla, I might see it differently, but they're literally fighting a war over a dress because the MIL is so worried about looking like a trend follower instead of a trend setter. Which she's already doing by buying a mass or multi produced dress anyway.
@tylercanales5794
@tylercanales5794 9 күн бұрын
@@agentmaryland1239 well, shit that’s where you cannot lose me to say she’s being more of a follower not a leader again your original poster I literally said she bought the exact same dress, and by looking at it you could tell it was the same dress. I cant you might not want to go with the traditional wedding dress, but in that case, you might have people that you’re coming to clash with. Unless the original poster is there and say to the people you’re not allowed to buy this brand of dress. again she shouldn’t have to go with a traditional wedding dress but again also if you’re not going to go with a traditional wedding dress you have to kind of expect people might wear the same type or might even wear the same dress that’s why I always found before I am funny when you girls are getting mad because their friend or some other girl is wearing a dress that looks exactly like there is so does sit there and say oh I mean take my mother-in-law to go replace the dress cause I don’t want her to have the same one and the only way your mother-in-law won’t have the same dress how I see yet Is with a traditional wedding dress and I don’t see why it was even a big deal. If the mother-in-law didn’t even buy it for the wedding she bought it for her birthday party which is perfectly fine and I don’t see why it was even a big deal anyways. So I see both of them both people being petty.

@@tylercanales5794 The MIL is the only one who's upset iirc, she's the one who started the entire fight. While OP I believe was a little upset that they had the same dress, it was the MIL who started the actual war over it. The entire fight didn't need to happen, the MIL just threw a massive temper tantrum and the entire family took it as some kind of attack on the family...over a garment.
