I have never seen snakey eggs like this. Looks soft and squishie. I did observe red-lipped heralds as a teen. I was 19 at the time. They can get so grumpy haha! I held a female in my hand (without gloves) and she was still young, but to feel a snake for the first time and see how curious she was, was super cute. When she flexed her muscles around my hand, I was aware that even at a young age, they can easily harm a human being. Incredibly strong.

Maybe I missed it but, how old were the eggs when you separated them from the giant mama? I would guess within 3 days. I do love the videos because they're educational. The only problem I have with humans keeping snakes and other creatures is the size of the pens, tanks, cages, etc. That was a very small box she was in. I also knew a man that kept snakes and a man that kept large Lions, Panthers, and a Bear. The cages for the big animals were barely big enough for them to stand up or turn around. The snake guy had about 30 ten or twenty gallon tanks and 20 fifty gallon tanks. The living creatures don't have a life even close to what God intended them to have.
@carladavison7140 Жыл бұрын
That is EXACTLY what I was just saying to my husband as we both watched this video. I really do feel bad for these beautiful creatures...they were taken from their natural habitat, out in the wild, to live in a small box (terrarium, tank, etc) for the rest of their lives...Or in this case, they are bred, lay these clutches of eggs (their babies), only to be ripped away from their their unborn babies, then they go back into their box again, all alone with no more babies (to protect). It really does make me wonder what these reptiles truly think or feel when this happens. However! With that being said, yes, I agree that this gentleman is doing these videos for educational purposes. I guess I'm just too empathetic, and I just wish these beautiful creatures were never brought out of their natural environment, because let's face it - you can NEVER truly take the wild out of them, nor can you ever fully trust them, or even cuddle with them, so what's the point of having them as pets? Unless I'm missing something ? I guess I just have a higher level of respect for these wild animals. Don't get me wrong...I'm not bitchin' in the slightest. I understand that there is a plethora of exotic pets out there, and I, myself, have 2 exotics (I rescued 2 sugar gliders). But anyhow, if anything, I'd like this to open the door to communication on this particular matter, and try to understand why people perpetuate this ?
@riemenOg Жыл бұрын
Watch the videos then you will understand better why they have to be taken away. They will die and they stay with the mom for months before being taken away. If left with the mom most of them won’t survive
@kingghidorah5213 Жыл бұрын
@@carladavison7140the thing is, they are not really loving parents they just protect the eggs so they all survive because the eggs are big thus hard to hide and as soon as the babies hatch they don't give a fuck anymore, leave and forget about it
@heroinfathr Жыл бұрын
@@carladavison7140thankfully captive bred animals don't know what they're "missing" and tend to have much longer and safer lives in captivity. that said, i do think the tank recommendations people make are too small. i try to add 20-30 gallons to whatever the bare minimum is, add lots of enrichment/natural things in the tank, bring them outside in the sun if and when it's possible (like holding small snakes or lizards securely) as for why people like them as pets- they're very interesting to observe, it's fun to try and recreate their natural environment, and despite their lack of affection, you build a trust and respect with the animal (i don't think that's displayed well in this video) if it trusts you not to harm it, remembers you as the caregiver and comes to you for food etc, it is much the same as bonding with any other pet. i do agree that it's sad that they were taken from the wild in the first place, but it wouldn't be a good thing to just release all the babies hatched indoors into the wild now, or any pets. captive bred ones are better off staying that way and same with wild ones.
