My son made the first step and called a therapist..unfortunately he has a psychotic episode before he talked to psychiatrist and we took him to er and since he didn't want to go we had to petition him to be seen..he is 25.they placed him in a psyche ward..poss bipolar or schizophrenia..prob is he was gonna get help but when this episode happened we were convinced he was in crisis..now he hates us and don't trust us..how to we repair this..btw he also has a drug problem which initially is what we thought was the issue..possible both..dont have all the answers yet

Omg!! I have been through this exact same situation with my brother. He was having some type of psychotic break due to drugs/alcohol, and my mom didn’t know what to do. She took him to the hospital, and they admitted him to a 72hr hold (also due to the fact that he attacked to officers at the hospital). He *HATES* her now for doing it and refuses to believe he did anything wrong (even though he punched multiple holes in her walls the night he lost it). His girlfriend recently broke up with him, bc of how horribly he treated her (due to his alcoholism), and now he’s in, what seems like, an alcohol death spiral. 😔 I keep begging him to get help, but he refuses. He’s convinced that getting help means he will be committed to a mental ward. (Part of me believes that’s an excuse to not agree to go to rehab). I have promised him I will make sure to find a rehab facility, but he won’t accept the help. This is so hard! 😢

@@jewelsbarbie my son was in the psyche ward for a week..he us coming home today..they addressed his issues (drug/bipolar) and is thinking more clearly already..the psychiatrist assured us we did the right thing..this is the third time we petitoned him. The first two may have planted seeds but not enough to take it serious..this time I hear promise and he now has said i love you..and his mindset has shifted..he tells us they have groups and says they are not all crazy there..they have put him on meds and he says they are helping..they are putting together a great follow-up plan..the psychiatrist said next time he may be court mandated..hope it doesn't come to that but if that's what it takes so be it..i believe he has traction now..praying its true..and praying for you
