Learnt the nose holding and breath holding years ago in a Buteyko course for asthma. But we would also nod the head up and down at the same time. It was explained that as the oxygen is used up, carbon dioxide builds up causing the sinuses to relax and open and allow the drainage. It also helps the long muscles to relax in the airways which help with asthma symptoms. Following up with a few minutes shallow breathing also helps to maintain the drainage. As the CO2 builds up you get a tingly feeling in the sinuses and the relief of being able to breathe deeply is wonderful. You may also start to feel warm and flushed with the increase of CO2. This is quite normal.

Good morning 🌄,dr.alan,I said it before & I'll say again, you're one in a million, maybe just maybe if ALL DOCTOR'S were like you, hospitals would be starving for patients, how sweet that would be,& the best thing about it, nobody receives a doctor bill

Who needs ibuprofen when you have Dr. Mandell’s natural remedies to immediately do the trick and save the day. 💛 Long story short, one of my sinuses runs close to the nerve of one of my teeth and when the sinus is aggravated that tooth is negatively affected; which is what happened the other day. 🦷 Thankfully though this video popped up this morning, I tried it and within less then a minute the pain in my tooth immediately and completely went away and hasn’t come back all day!!🙌😊💛 Then a friend texted that she was having a similiar issue, I sent her the video and after reluctantly trying it she texted me back that she had relief as well.🙌 Thank you Dr. Mandell for sharing all your wisdom, knowledge and experience with us!! It always seems to come at the perfect time and I am extremely grateful and thankful.💛 God bless🙏

All I know is I have a lung infection so I did the prone technique on my hands and knees to help cough up mucus.. big mistake, it instantly plug up my sinuses..didn't get a wink of sleep last night...😒

"Punchable" : 😢 Sorry for your infection. Buy a big bag of lemons. Juice 1 or 2 each morning. Drink Lemon juice in 1cup warm water, early, before you eat. It will help clear flem in your throat too. Brush teeth gently with coconut oil. Rinse mouth with warm water. Go back to sleep for an hour. Lemon juice works wonders with your lungs and stomach. (Also DO all Dr M's techniques!) Feel better!❤😊
@annesmithsmith28354 күн бұрын
What is the prone technique? So I know nit to do it..
@Punchable-Face4 күн бұрын
@annesmithsmith2835 like a downward dog pose except, you're on your knees, touching your forehead to the floor. Basically your lungs are above your head at a slanted angle so gravity well help your mucus drain out of your lungs while cough gently.. it works but it can drain into your sinuses and plugged them right up which can be just as bad.. especially if you have thick mucus..😒
@ssn78364 күн бұрын
Can you use like a saline nasal wash? I use the "neti pot saline nasal wash" to clear my all my nose from all the dust and mucus I have in my nose and after I use it I can breath better. It clears your nose really good. Theres many videos on how to use the neti pot on youtube.
