Thank you Dr. Mandell! I'm getting there. Half way to my goal. I've lost 40 pounds and it was by eliminating grains, dairy, sugar, processed foods, eating whole foods, walking every day, and now 6 months in adding home calisthenics. It's pretty simple. Just takes focus. Thanks for your great advice!

Dr. Mandell, please (if you haven't already done so) make a video specifically for menopausal women who are gaining fat from nowhere and cannot get a proper nights sleep due to hot flashes throughout the night (or night sweats)...they are terrible and so disruptive both physically and mentally...and that belly fat is sooo uncomfortable!! thank you!!

Gosh, I really appreciate you. My current FP was helping me with weight loss. I have been a nurse now for 30 years. About 18 years ago after having my children. My OB/GYN told me I had PCOS. She also told me I would never lose my fat because of it. I said "watch me". I started the Atkins diet back then. I was walking/ jogging 5 miles a day on top of 8 hours of running around at work on the hospital floor ( no sitting down working on computers then). I lost only 20 pounds first month, then nothing after that. After 6 months, I was depressed and deviated. My FP and both OB/GYN, told me I still would never lose it. I GAVE UP! over the period of the next 15 years, I ate what ever I wanted, mostly sugary stuff. I got up to 250 and miserable. 3 months ago. I talked with my now FP. He keep telling me I COULD DO THIS. I wasn't sure but I really hated myself. He was teaching calorie count instead of carbs. Well, after really trying and this isn't hard at all, I am down to 209. I love eating healthy and I feel so so so much better already. I am now watching everything I can and sharing it all with my family and friends from your videos. My doc had heart surgery after 1 and half months into my change and I haven't gotten to see him again yet. YOU AND HIM BOTH HAVE SAVED MY LIFE!!!!!! I can not thank you enough for these videos. You really have saved my life! I love my self and life again.

It took me several attempts over many years to quit smoking. Until I quit I didn't realize that I still had the addiction to sugar. I had high BP, clogged arteries, diabetes and couldn't lose weight, even though I got lots of exercise. I've cut out the bad sugars and increased the protein. So far, I've dropped almost 20 pounds in 2 months and am sleeping better. Thanks for your advice.

Same. It's hard to stop my consumption. Everyday I say no.. but by the time I get home it takes the edge off like smoking or somethin.

Hi ladies, same here my main was my coffee, I liked it dark and sweet 3tsp😲. I started by reducing the amount I would uses (very gradual) until it was a half a tsp. After that sugar just started becoming very very sweet and I actually would refuse my favorites.

Thank You, for telling everyone that Keto isn’t a diet! A Scientist let me know that too many CEO’s are trying to jump on the band wagon trying to make people to believe it’s a diet, so they can make more money. He let me know it’s a lifestyle that many can do to live mor healthy.

I drink 1-2 tbs of acv with half a lemon, sprinkle of cayenne powder, fresh ginger grated on my micro grater, a few drops of stevia in one cup or more of water. I drink it with a straw to protect my teeth. Has really helped me.

Congratulations on your perseverance! It took me 2 1/2 years to lose 80 lbs. of baby weight (I ate like a pig!). I felt so good on a lowcarb/organic diet, that's the only way I want to eat forever...and it's been almost 30 years now of excellent health. I'm in better shape than those 20 years younger. Like quitting smoking (which I also did over 30 yrs ago), cravings and bad habits don't disappear over night. Persevere, one day at a time and it eventually becomes a habit!

Thank you for reiterating abt healthy fats! I live a low carb/keto lifestyle. People always assume bacon, butter, pork, sausage, etc. 🤦‍♀️😂🤦‍♀️😂🤦‍♀️ Yeah I keep grass fed butter in the fridge cause I like butter on some of my veggies when cooked (broccoli, spinach, asparagus, etc). I eat uncured turkey bacon, when I do eat bacon. I eat boneless skinless chicken & fish, pecans, macadamias, sprouted tofu, seeds (chia, ground flax, hemp, sesame), Fage 0% & sf nut butters for protein & fat mostly. I stay away from processed foods! I make my own breads & sweets. Actually I pretty much prepare all my foods. I use allulose for sweetener & I love blackberries. I’m from east/central Texas area & we have some of the biggest best blackberries here. I also use lemon & drink green tea everyday.

Dr. Mandell you are so truthful. I have been living a secondary life style. Now I have Osteoarthritis. I've been told that I have weak bone muscles. I have serve pain in my hips and knees. I have to start exercising to strengthen my bones muscles.

I've been making small changes, including drinking more water, drinking garlic water, and green tea. Now to reduce sugar because I am addicted. I'm going to cotinue to review this video. This was a great video. My gut has taken a turn for the worst. I've been practicing everything you said in this video and even learned the reasoning behind why my gut wasn't right. I appreciate you being a Doctor that really helps us to live. Everything you tell us is natural was to help us live. Most doctors push pills down our throat that has so many side effects that causes harm to our body. I'm so emotional because it's like they really don't care about us but you do. You know, Doctor Mandell, this video is so so educational. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I've been hearing so much about the Keto diet and its effectiveness on the people that have loss the weight BUT I disagree with the sugar part that they said that you can't consume, even if it is from fruits. Um this is so simplified. Thank you. I had so many questions with tons of ideas no where to start and not sure wheat I was doing. This here has been the most helpful. ​@@motivationaldoc If you started lifting weights, drank protein every 4 hours and ate the same foods (not much), that should be enough to put you in calorie deficit. Wouldn't you agree Dr Mandell?

The value of your information is life changing. This was a wonderful refresher for me, thank you. I just found you last evening. Sometimes we get lost in the business of life and forget to love our bodies with nutrition. The key is to think ahead and prepare simple healthy foods. You wrapped it all up with the importance of water intake. A suggestion is to get yourself a 32 oz water bottle, drinking two a day, 8 cups. I find that seeing how much you are drinking really helps plus it gives you the opportunity to add lemon or ACV. Thank you for taking the time to educate us on so many important issues. ❤
