You have to bear in mind that as an air-cooled bike trying to achieve Euro emission standards the V85TT is extremely restricted especially in the entire exhaust system, not just the CAT because there are also extra CAT's also in each down pipe. Replace that with an unrestricted Arrow collector and unrestricted Can, then cut a hole in the air-box lid which is chocked down to a tiny inlet slot, remap it and I am extremely confident it will produce at lease 90BHP. I have heard claims of over 100 BHP but that is a bit optimistic in my view but 90 BHP is well within reach.

I just bought the standard V100 in red last week. It is an awesome machine (and my dealer was including the panniers for free!). I'm in a fortunate position to be able to afford it, but I'm sure I would be just as happy with the V85TT if my budget was smaller. Both are excellent machines.

Can’t say it’s a budget decision for me. I have a v85 22 and a v7 850 21. I’m not even interested in a v100. I love the air cooled motors, although euro5 is a bit of a bore, but upmap will sort that out. And I’m just not interested in a bike that feels better at illegal speeds. In aus there are too many cameras and copes patrolling road rules.

I own both these bikes (the V100S only for a week now but absolutely loving it) and I would say (1) the use case for each bike covers different enough purpose that having both can make sense, except to the wallet ouch. (2) The V85TT is a better machine to load up with "big" touring stuff like camping gear etc and if you're camping the light off road makes sense. (3) I lay the V100S rear seat on top of the V85TT and I think the V100S is ever so slightly bigger, but I'm not sure how that feels sitting on them. The V100S rear is definitely higher compared to the front. (4) The V100S' urge to GO and amazing brakes are really, really significant. The V100 Stelvio may change all that...

These are completely different machines with different price points so "better" is completely subjective and based on the user's preference. I just bought that same V85TT and I'm really loving it. My buddy bought the V100 S and he loves that for different reasons. I chose the V85TT because I like doing off-roading and it was in budget. Here in the States, the V100 S is about $4k more than the V85TT. Cheers!

What's the definition of "Adventure"? But the V85TT is smack bang in the middle of adventure bikes these days. I think Moto Guzzi have succeeded in making bikes that cover multiple genres, or perhaps create new genres.

Great video. The pricing between the two is huge in my area of California. I am seeing new V85TT’s base prices as low as $11k U.S.. The lowest base price for a new V100 S I see is $17.5k. So, they aren’t really comparable in performance or price and the price variance supports that. The good news is that there are many of both bikes available for immediate purchase in my area. Will definitely be getting the V100S at some point but will likely buy used to save money.

For me it was just 2 different bikes that you share the specs. Comparing a road bike and a dual sport is senseless in my opinion it like comparing a dump truck to a mini Cooper. People that look at the v85 like myself are looking at the super tenere,tiger 1200, BMW all the shaft drives out there. In the USA price wise and dealer support the super tenere is the proven choice. I guess I am trying to convince myself to go buy one. Still I enjoyed the video.

The TT in V85 TT stands for Tutto Terreno. Any terrain. I don't have to explain what Travel stands for. It is therefore a rather obvious conclusion that the Moto Guzzi V 85 TT Travel is a more travel-oriented version than the V100. I can asure you that the V85TT is powerful enough for its duty. I don't need extra power. The V85 engine has a great flat torque curve which makes it great to drive. But the V100 is a beautiful machine too, but is absolutely not suitable for off-road driving

I am sure you are right in your comparing the two models, the V100 is a smooth modern bike, the v85 is the last traditional air coled moto Guzzi old concept with all the rumble and soul (quirkiness) that comes with it. But that is exactly why people like me are buying the V85. So far 20.000km trouble free on my 2020 euro 4 V85. Only worry I have is the weak dealer net🤔, it means that I as a 100% biker always will have a red Japanese bike next to it as my "workhorse" 👍😊

If we going to use 'both comfort seats' as similarities, well then there's a lot to compare. My ipion: these are both Moto-guzzi's and have both a V-twin engine and both are shaft driven. That's it. Mandello is a sportive tourer the V85TT is supposed to be an adventure bike. So the concepts are totally different and there for it makes no sense comparing them. No offence.
@droommotor
@droommotor 3 ай бұрын
I think it does, especially at the time of uploading these were the only choices if you want a touring bike from Moto Guzzi. Now you have more options. V85TT is more a touring bike than a ADV bike if i'm honest.

@@droommotor What about the Griso? Still a different fruit, but closer to a Mandello then the V85tt. Also totally different engines.
