Great looking kit and love the Sam modifications, nice touch - I'd have left the original decals on and just covered them with the kit. The hard edge is lacquer. Happy Hooning Brother.

I had a decal kit from moto Pro works for my SMC R when I had it, fitted it in the middle of winter so had to do it in my living room 😂. Bike looks awesome mate 👌 well from what you showed that is 😅

Looks great Sam One killjoy question in the name of journalism - have you asked your insurance company if it affects the cost? Mine allow all sorts including performance exhausts etc, but don’t allow paint/kits without a massive premium 🤬. No idea why, but it gets called out whenever I renew.

Haha! Good question! Adding all of the accessories I have on the bike, including the ones upcoming, decal kit, exhaust, etc cost me a grand total of £17 extra! I think it's primarily because they aren't really power or handling differences. My premium on the Monkey bike shot up when I told them I'd changed the suspension! BeMoto seem to not be too worried about mods which is nice. The decal kit was questioned as to how much it changes the look and if it was one that promoted a company.. i.e. a big RedBull livery or a company commercial branding. Luckily this is still grey and orange, with no major sponsor

Do the decals cover all of the body work?

They cover most of the bike yes. If you have the orange one I think it will cover all of the orange besides the rear subframe. Depends on the kit though I think and you can obviously choose to leave bits off if you'd prefer

Hi Sam I’ve been following your reviews, I am interested in the Ktm 1290 sas. I have a question about the bike, do you happen to know how much weight carrying capacity the bike has for driver & the passenger?

Thank you! By a bit of Googling.. the only figure I could find was 453lbs, or 205kg for the SAR. I'd assume the same for the S model. That would make sense being that the SAT was around 197kg I believe

Just watched your video. The original decals are lacquered on surely? That's why there's a hard line left after you removed it guessing. Doesn't the new decal just go over the old. Because if you've removed the lacquer, you have to respray the tanks panels again to return to original.

I tested it before I removed them! You could see them through the decal kit! Maybe it's my OCD but it's done now! Haha

The raised edges of the decals were visible to me. Nothing too obvious and depending on the kit you bought you might be able to not see them. They weren't visible around the edges though
