Endless possibilities-that’s what Honda’s dual-sport bikes are all about. They’ll let you explore parts of the world that you’ve never seen. Light, durable, and rugged, they’re versatile and economical enough to make great day-to-day transportation too. Want to do it all on a bike? Then these are the bikes you want.

Right now I can only have one motorcycle so my pick was a CRF300L Rally ABS. It is pretty good at doing almost anything, but it's not great at any one thing besides maybe commuting or easy back road sightseeing at moderate speeds. It can do it all. Yes, there are much better bikes for the highway and much better bikes for off-road, but for "everything" it's hard to beat.

You would still call it a fly, disabilities don't change who you are, they just make you do things differently.

I think what truly separates dual sports from just plain enduros is that they have actual road engines. If you look at most normal enduros and hard enduros, they need very frequent maintenance and they‘re overall really needy motorcycles. Built to race. Motorcycles like the KLX and CRF-L are pretty de-tuned for an „off road 300“. Generally pretty durable and long lasting machines. One other example would be KTMs 690 enduro lineup, the 690 Enduro, the Husqy 701 Enduro, and the Gasgas 700 Enduro. That 690 is not a race engine.

Excellent video. Covered everything very well. Turning 50 this year and coming to terms, I can’t mountain bike anymore. I was looking at adventure bike, but after this video, I’m realizing dual sport may be the way to go for me.

I love my dual sport: Kawasaki Klx 230s. Handles everything i throw at it. Love the dual sport category of bikes, best all around option for a motorcycle.

I can’t imagine riding two hours then hoping on a trail….on a giant bike…or a small one. I’ll trailer my bike…and then do some trail riding-fresh.

i got my Tenere world raid to introduce myself to off roading. I find myself more confident trying out new routes and tracks than when i had my R1200GSA that was purely used on the road. Also, i tour a lot so the Tenere is perfect for that too! Hence for me the adventure bike ticks all the boxes, and doesnt leave me wanting anything else. Again, it's what one intends to do.

a light weight dirt bike made street legal is a good bike. When on a single track you can take off the mirrors, and with some up front thinking same with turn signals and possibly headlights. Many good street bikes can be found at a discount for highway or inter dirt road travel.

I like the 3 bike strategy, which covers all riding styles terrain and environment, some people buy Gold I buy Motorcycles! (and they retain their value in some cases as well as Gold)

Dual sports are also pretty great for commuting in slow traffic. You sit up higher than most road bikes, and they're agile for dodging wing mirrors when splitting.

Another video that was a pleasure to watch Andrew. I can see why you have so many subscribers to your KZbin channel as you're very knowledgeable and well spoken.

Great content. I have a Harley bagger for the road, a KTM 300EXC for single track and hardcore desert riding. In the process of getting a Husqvarna FE501S to bridge the gap between the two. I like you, just love motorcycles. It brings me personal joy just walking into my garage and seeing them. At 53, I am running out of years to do what I love, so I do them all!

I've owned a Ninja 400, KLX300 and Honda Africa Twin. The Twin was nice on the interstate but was too big getting in and out of my garage and wasn't about to do my first trail on it.

I have a 2001 Yamaha xt225. Works on everything. Not the fastest , not the best off road. But it does it all. Daily ride it to work each day 10 miles.

I'm like you with the 3 bike garage. Have fun on all three and they all have their place. T7, 300L, Husky TE250 (not-plated). My most common riding is commuting and running around town/local backroads. Nearby river and lake roads. The 300L is just so easy to jump on and do this so it gets the most use.

Good analysis. I just bought a 2017 WR250R for off and on road riding, especially moto-camping. I also have a 1978 XL175 that I actually used for moto-camping. Fun, but not very effective!
