Amazing stuff. Told ya so. It dries to a smooth satin finish and not at all greasy. I've found the best finish is not to rinse, but to wipe with a rag. Yep, alternators can be soaked in water just like any 12V circuit - apart from electronics that is! 12V DC won't short in water, the resistance is too high. With older cars that don't rely on CAN-BUS and modules for comms and switching, your headlights and electric windows will even continue to work underwater.

I wish I'd have seen this comment earlier this week and would have saved 60 bucks, but I'm still happy as he checked the car over all. So my BF was running really rough and was losing power when accelerate also engine light was on, Went to mechanic he said it sound like an exhaust leak or manifold gasket, but he found that was manifold nuts were loose, he could have lied to me and charged more if wanted to. He's washed and cleaned the entire engine, checked all over and charged me $60 for that.

Did this last night, one thing you can also do is remove the grille assembly, it's an extra two scrivet's on the top assembly and three clips at the bottom. You can't actually see the clips unless you push the whole assembly outwards from the top, also FYI when you pop each clip out, make sure you push it all the way out, don't hear it pop and come out a little and move onto the next one or else like me, you will find you get to the third and the others have popped back in. push all the way towards yourself until the whole part of the assembly the clip is holding in comes away from the bumper completely. I could not get over how much gunk I found behind the grill. I hung it on two pot plant hooks, hit it with tyre foam and 10 minutes later washed it all down.

I do the same thing but at the end I also spray silicone spray all over the engine bay and I get a air blower and blow it over the engine to make it look even and sort of dry. I have a bit of distance from the surface so it’s not concentrated to the surface and it’s how second hand car yards get engine bays to look decent but with them you simply look at the under side of things and see what they do. Also silicone spray is water repellent and is great for the battery terminals.

You should do the battery and intake swap on the xr6t
@MotoringBoxTV4 жыл бұрын
I am in two minds about that - half of me likes how the original intake setup looks, while the other half would love to hear more of the turbo spool. If you do the battery/intake swap you'd pretty much have to upgrade the front mount to a non-return flow style, and then run hot-side piping from the intercooler up into the passenger side of the engine bay and into the throttle body. So doing one thing creates other issues lol
@volkyk4 жыл бұрын
@@MotoringBoxTV If you do go turboside, I'm sure you won't regret it. Be prepared though, as the sound is a lot more intense and a lot louder. In regards to the appearance, I think the engine bay looks a lot more tidy without the crossover pipe, especially on the FG's where the throttle body's position isn't as awkward.
