Merry Christmas ... good summaries. The trouble with Kia is not the vehicles, it"s intentional delay of deliveries. Literally, Kia Canada made a financial decision to withhold deliveries and have the vehicles stored in a small town in Ontario. This is terrible, almost as bad as the Hyundai battery fiascos ... oh, wait, both companies are owned by Hyundai Motor Corporation.

I love a conventional dash with real buttons and real shifters. When I'm driving I don’t want to or feel safe making adjustments on a screen. Nice review of all 10 and a good price range to choose from when considering a vehicle.

I wouldn’t include the Trax if I were to do a top 10, only because one of my kids bought one that has had a safety issue with the car rolling backwards when she puts it in drive and hits the accelerator, rolling back into traffic. It’s happened multiple times and is a scary situation. The dealer’s service department and GM/Chevy contact people have been very dismissive and condescending to my 24-year-old daughter. Fortunately the sales person at the dealership has gone above and beyond and advocated for her. She’s been driving a loaner for several months and has been promised a brand new replacement vehicle. The salesman says it’s a very long process. I remain skeptical but hope this will be resolved to my daughter’s satisfaction. This particular Trax is a lemon.

I saw these a few months back and thought this “could” be a home run for GM if the quality and reliability has improved? So far, I’ve seen a ton of complaints online about what a pile of crap these vehicles are. Warranty and service managers are being idiots at the dealerships and GM is getting another black eye! Stick with Mazda, Toyota and Honda and spend more money to have piece of mind. Merry Xmas!

A video appeared on my list yesterday with a guy who has a Traxx with 1800+ miles on it and a laundry list of malfunctions. The worst part? The dealer can't fix some of the issues, so he's stuck with them. The reliability is crap. I feel bad for anybody who gets stuck with a bad one, and it appears there's a lot of bad ones.

My son works at a Toyota dealer ship and they just arent making the cars they used to make. For instance, my 2019 Camry had trans issues at 19k on the OD and part of the dash was coming apart. I had to take legal action for Toyota to cover the transmission replacement. The dash is still broken.

I own a GH Hybrid limited. It is a fantastic vehicle. I get 34 mpg on highway, and some tanks of in town driving up to 42 mpg. Great room, quiet, plenty of power.

I'm replacing my wife's 2011 CR-V next year. We are empty nesters so I'm looking at the the Seltos or the Corolla Cross based on your reviews. Thank you for all your honesty and integrity with what you like and don't like. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to 2024!

You might want to look at something smaller… CR-V’s are much bigger now and you don’t need much space in the rear. If you want something sporty try the Porsche Macan / BMW X4 / Audi SQ5… they’re not much more expensive than non-luxury brands now. Otherwise yes Corolla Cross / HR-V / Seltos are great options at a lower price point. Luxury brands are definitely worth it though.

I agree with you for the Grand Highlander! Hey Zack, can't wait for your live in 2024. Please talk about the new 2035 rules for Canada. I find them optimistic, especially considering the American domination of the North American market. Americans love big fast cars, and don't seem to worry about fuel economy like Canadians. Looking forward to driving an Activ Trax. We need a vehicle with good fuel economy and I love the look. We have a AWD '23 Traverse and its been phenomenal. So good we are considering another Chevy.

I drove two Chevy Sparks (total six years) and never had a problem. And they were very well equipped for a $13,000 vehicle (like the 2024 Trax). These Korean Chevys (Daewoo) are GM's "best kept secret". Although I did make the mistake of buying the dealer extended warranty for my first Spark. Big mistake. DON'T.

Very sorry for your loss. Our beloved cocker spaniel "Oscar" passed away in 2018 just days after Christmas. My wife and I were devastated. We miss him more than I can put into words. Dogs are the best. People on the other hand I take on a case by case basis if I'm being truly honest. Thank you both for all that you do and I wish you and your family health and happiness in 2024. I recently bought a new car. I looked at Audi Q3, Q5, Volvo XC60, BMW X1, and VW arteon. Of all these cars, I felt the X1 was the worst. It had seats that did not adjust, the brakes seemed weird, and it would shut off the engine at every stop and there was no way to that off. I bought the VW...most horspower, largest back seat, good looks and storage as well as a good ride. I appreciate that few shar my love of such cars. I also read yesterday that SUVs are 8 times more likely to a kill a child that they hit than a sedan.

I’ve known 3 people now who’ve owned the lyriq. The service department put more miles on it then they did and all three got lemon lawed. Great on paper and a test drive, absolute nightmare to own
