Pretty much the same as you fella. Came from ACC, tried LMU at launch, hated it because it was near unplayable, but picked it up recently and I am absolutely in love. ACC feels hella weird now, FFB is just heavy, high kerbs are off limits. LMU FFB feels perfect, and you dont have to worry about hitting kerbs. This game deserves more attention than any sim right now, because it feels incredible!!

I fully agree with everything you said. I done some laps in ACC a couple weeks ago, and OMFG...just awful. I used to main the Ferrari 296 in the latest league I was in and it felt so strange. ACC was good when it came out, but I think LMU made some tweaks to the FFB from RF2 and built upon the physics (in RF2 it was quite violent by default). Graphically it is a world apart. I drove the Oreca LMP2 in RFW2 the other day at Sebring, and the inside of that car looks terrible compared to LMU's version. So it has come on leaps and bounds. People saying it is just a RF2 reskin are incorrect too. It is like saying ACC was a reskin of AC.

I see the effort that the team have put into this game, and the game is superb. Once these small issues are ironed out, it will take off.

Great video - now at 180 hours in LMU, previously ACC was my go-to with 1000+ hours there. Can't play ACC now, it has nowhere near the feel and excitement of LMU. Modelling, graphics, handling are all great in LMU for me, I know it has some issues with the odd crash, but never when I'm in a race or online session, so doesn't cause me an issue. Online racing in Gold is really clean, would prefer if the beginner and intermediate levels (Bronze, Silver) had no assists enabled, or at least gave visibility of who on the grid is using them so you can see who will brake a car length later than you, but other than that its spot on. In hypercars, when you come out of the pit garage on electric and then the engine kicks in, I still get a real buzz from it, no other game gives me that.

Yeah, I had 1800 hours in ACC, multiple leagues and endurance events, even some team 12 and 24 hour races. I cannot wait for LMU to implement similar.

Great video and I agree with you 100%. Also, your video unintentionally shows how good their AI is. Ok, they’re not perfect, but for multi class racing with so many cars on track, you can see them making great decisions. Notice at 24:09 - the GTE Aston pulling out to pass the other Aston and making a last minute call to hold off as it notices the LMP2 coming up it’s inside. Really good stuff. Better than a lot of human players tbh!

"Better than human players" - I can't disagree. Yeah the AI is pretty good, still requires some tweaking, but you can race them. They also get into their own mess and crashes too, as could be seen. But yeah, it was good to see the reactions against a different class behind.

I agree 100% on your comments. I have been sim racing since 2004, tried rFactors (for me the king), Iracing, Acc's, but in therms of general force feedback, atmosphere, graphics, sensation of driving those cars and the inmersion and insane detail that has been put on this simulator. Stands out from the rest. Hopefully they keep developing and add European Le Mans Series tracks or similar things. Keep up the great content!

100%. Some people are taking a piece of news and adding on their own speculation as if it were fact. S397/MSGM is still generating revenue...it is just their costs have been over-inflated for years. If they get this under control (which appears to be happening) and a cash injection or merger...this game could be on the right track. Or they could fast track their sub offering. Sure, I will not like it, but if it kept this game alive to see its full potential, I'd be subbed.

It simply is the best driving and racing SIM of modern times. The latest beta update has made it fantastic in VR. Kireth is the Jeremy Vine and Kyle of the SIM world, creating drama and purl clutching where it does not excsist.

Yeah, some guys create drama to get clicks, and the truth is, people's livelihoods are at stake by the drama, speculation etc. These things being blown out of proportion and then the comments of "what next for LMU" etc, makes out that the development is stopping, and that people shouldn't buy. This makes a dire situation where people are being discouraged from buying a very good product based off some speculative crap. It is very unfair to the hard work the S397 guys are doing and continue to do. They are carrying themselves incredibly well. And as actual humans and professionals, they have my respect.

Physics and tire model is incredible. I still think the FFB lacks communicating what the tire is doing at the limit, but otherwise it is top notch driving experience. Hopefully they can help out some of the FFB for tire grip limit in the future.

@@murfenator82 personally I can feel that limit quite well. Double check your not running filters in the ffb like damping or friction etc. And keep and interpolation or reconstruction filters to a minimum, like 1 click up from off.

@@GSSimRacing im using some smoothing but ya no filters. Moza DD. LMU does steering rack forces (based on rF1 from realfeel plugin days i believe). It just doesn't give a lot of info or change in FFB for the tire itself. There is a lot of force coming thru, but its not related to the tire really. This is why the rear can be hard to catch. It only starts to become noticeable in the FFB once the rear is so far sideways that its pulling on the steering rack, by then with the edgy-er tires its too late.

I was super curious about LMU for a long time but until we know what's happening with MSG, I'm not sure it's worth buying. It's a shame because I loved RF2 FFB and physics and LMU seemed like the natural progression for the franchise.

Nothing is wrong with MSG. They've made cost reduction measures, they've gotten the expenses under control and they're rebuilding from LMU. And if they get into a strategic partnership or sale to a dev studio, it could port to console at some point and add revenue. They're also bringing some content over the coming months which will also boost cash flow. For the game to survive, people need to take a shot and buy it. It's not without it's problem or risk, but it is the best racing experience out there at the moment in terms of driving feel and physics etc. Literally miles ahead of anything else in my opinion.

I've also come from ACC, and weirdly came back around a week or 2 ago and now that I'm away from it, I'm so happy, I'm sick of the bullcrap setups, the tracks in acc feel so flat and boring. And when the news came out about the studio it prompted me and realised that we should be more then happy to pay for the base game and even the DLC, unless they have something like microsoft/EA/Riot/Tencent behind them they clearly rely on this stuff. Will also mention that the quality in my opinion is better then iracing, and if I wanted to partake in a season of iracing with these cars + tracks I'd be coughing up $100-$200 (not including sub), the value in this should not go understated. The "Mixed" reviews on steam are also not warranted, they see a game with "early access" and DLC and suddenly its cause for full meltdown. "Edit: ALSOOooooo LMU has insanely good netcode, there literally isn't a place in the world where I've had any bad netcode, and by that I mean you could be my neighbour or asia or americas wherever, I don't even notice.

Yeah, and for online...any contact in ACC results in cars being thrown off track...not the case in LMU. And I think you make a good point regarding buying and backing the title. In Niche sim racing games, it really is on the player base to support the development work. It is true of any software, but if the player base is small it becomes even more important.

I think it will survive, but it did appear that Motorsport Games needed to reduced costs. I think it may be a case that S397 is holding itself and the remaining motorsport games expenses afloat. I think S397 as its own studio is going to be fine. Motorsport Games was a mismanaged mess, although with their current CEO, huge improvements have been made. I just hope it has been enough.

I really enjoy the game, I struggle with the LMP2 cars new tire model and cant hold temps very well though. No problem with GTE or LMDh cars, any tips or things I could be doing wrong?

LMP2 is a very responsive car. Light and twitchy. What I find is the chassis has more capability than the tyre. This means that the car will feel safe going into a corner at speed, however the tyre may not be ready for that load. And usually any releasing of the throttle will allow the rear to raise very slightly, and the thing will snap. The 499P suffers from this a little too and the Alpine....and Toyota to a lesser extent. I haven't driven the LMP2 much over the past 2 weeks, so not sure on the temps... might try today some LMP2. But in general it is is an issue you can increase front suspension or damping, increase rear rebound damping, or add rear wing.

@@GSSimRacing I agree the chassis is definitely more responsive, in solo races I have no problems with heat. I can push near the maximum for the most part. I should have specified that my main struggles are with the ‘fixed setup’ Online Races. I have noticed some similar traits in the Hypercars as-well (mainly when the races are again, ‘fixed setup’) but nothing unusual or surprising like LMP2. And no heat issues either, mainly just weird characteristics of each car.. With LMP2 I feel confident in the Aero Package, but no matter how hard I lean on the car or over work the tires they will not stay warm online. Maybe it’s just the setup they provide being kinda crappy but at the most recent fixed event in Bahrain, with track temps near 50c I can only keep my tires warm for maybe two laps and then Im cooked and the pace falls off..

@@scum07k I know in the Le Mans special over the weekend, the Alpine Hypercar was heating tyres a lot, even on the straights. I think the weight pushing down on the tyre leads to a heating effect. I will try get some time in the LMP2 today or tomrrow and see if I find the same.

my recommendation by playing rfactor2 for more than 10 years now is: Always prioritize FPS instead of graphical quality, for me 120fps is the minimal to feel smooth, so I put a full grid offline and do a race start looking to the fps, if it's lower than 120fps I reduce the graphical quality, this way you'll never have any performance issues.

The other day I done a reinstall of the game. I also have a habit now of verifying the steam files after every game exit, before turning off my computer. Also, ensure no overclocks. Since doing this, I have not had any crashes. And I have been doing a fair few races over the last few days. Before doing this, I'd have had a few crashes.

I love LMU but it is not a complete game. Still running GTE as an example.. If they want to be THE LM game, they have to be close to current imo.. I also feel like the game is just a base of what it should be.. It literally is missing all of the important features.. My friends and I like to do private lobbies and mix in AI to fill out the field and this game is missing all of that. That's just to start... I love it and I hope the best for it but I'll be sticking to my other games until they get what I need to enjoy it fully into the game

@@EXLDayzeSRS most racing games run 6 months to 1 year behind. LMU delivered the full 2023 season, cars and liveries. It has the 24 season liveries on the Hypercar and LMP2 liveries. GT3s are due this month and then more being added in Q1. If it's private lobbies, I believe they're being added soon enough. This will open up leagues and everything.

Well it is about 75-80% baked. Some stability and features are needed, but other than that, the game is fantastic. The hype with people is the actual driving physics and realism. This is what is grabbing people in at the moment. The games average daily playerbase is down almost 75% of what it was during its initial month of release. You say the playerbase is only growing, but outside of its content releases it hasn't really changed at all. We're talking about a game that globally averages less than 400 people playing. To think that Microsoft or any major console company would have this game on their radar is being almost delusionally optimistic. The game is lacking basic features like track IR still. It's AI is suicidal as you unintentionally showed, there still is no safety car or full flag rules of the series it's supposed to be simulating. There is no career or even season championship, something that if it went to console would 100% need to be implemented and working properly. It is not at all being over dramatic or "misinformation" to warn people who are thinking about buying the game that it may never be finished. The company is up for sale and has been in the red for over 12 months, turnovered it's leadership, sold off multiple licenses to avoid insolvency, and has now laid off a large portion of its developer base. Like be honest, yes you love the game, but there are major red flags that put the future of LMU into question and to argue otherwise is ignoring reality.

You're peeking at just over 600 players, which in and of itself wouldn't be a big deal for a sim title, but when the company is publicly traded and hemorrhaging money it is. You're completely under selling the financial troubles MSG is in and their situation is absolutely not "normal". They are a publicly traded company. They have been bleeding money for over 12 months straight, burning millions each quarter. They sold their Nascar license in order to get an injection of cash after their Nascar game failed miserably. They lost the BTCC license due to their inability to produce a BTCC game. They've abandoned rF2 development because they had to put all their eggs into the LMU basket to avoid a similar fate that they had with their IndyCar and BTCC licenses. They just laid off 24 employees which they said was about 39% of their work force, so they now have less than 40 employees. MSG is in dire straights, they are not looking for extra funding, they are looking for someone to buy them out. That is a huge difference from "looking for additional funding".
