NO. I drove one two days ago and the first thing I noticed was the road noise. Once the car gets moving at normal speed (30+ mph) it wasn't as noticeable but still an issue. If you need a quiet car then look elsewhere.

Own a 2005 CR-V and it is rock-solid reliable. Low maintenance. But, not awesome to drive or anything exciting. The newest generation looks good but no point getting into a car loan when the '05 is running strong, no problems, and fully paid off!

No performance test at the track?
@SexyBulldozerMan10 жыл бұрын
This is not a performance vehicle. it's a soccer mom car. although, for a man or women, i can't understand why anyone wouldn't choose the subaru outback in the first place. Am i right? It's got way more cargo room, smooth ride, and good quality. Perfect for people with kids, great for holidays, camping, pick up any apliance ot home reno materials, awd is standard and i think the price is also better by a couple thousand. oh yeah and better fuel mpg.

like the front, hate the back. the interior is ok too. i hope they put a V6 as optional. also is the nav system a trin level like other Hondas, or is it an option now. great review, just needed to have more stuffs to make it on top. now its just there w the rest.

Blindspot monitoring is highly overrated. If you learn how to adjust your mirrors properly, you'll never need to be looking back over your shoulder to check a "blind spot". Mirrors can do what they are able to do, if you'll just let them. If you can see your own vehicle in your side mirrors from your normal seating position, you know you just aren't doing it right.

My parents also has the 1st gen Honda CR-V (2001) with Realtime 4WD, but it's an SE model with leather and AM/FM/CD/Tape audio system. They bought it in October of 2001, which was around $20,690 at that time. It had a few problems and has 56,000 miles, since they do more city driving than highway driving. I really dislike the 2012 model, when I went to the NY auto show. In my opinion, I'd rather have the Mazda CX-5, since it feels similar to the 1st gen CR-V in terms of handling and engine size.

I like the review, not the car. I had a 2008 and, boy, was the interior crappy! Water would stain the seat fabric! It was harder then hell to clean the upholstery, too. Also, I would get maybe 24 to 26 highway and 17 to 20 city. So far, with the vehicle I traded my CR-V in for, I'm getting 17 to 18 MPG city and the same highway mileage. And, it is a Ford F-150 regular cab with their 3.7L V6!
@Nebraskahusker2312 жыл бұрын
@MusicMan0007 No it doesn't. It costs a little less than $10,000 more. And sure the CR-V is better than anything in the compact-ute segment. If you're a Honda fanboy or don't enjoy driving (163 lb-ft w/ a 9.4s 0-60 time? Really?). We test drove the '12 CR-V twice as well as the '12 VW Tiguan. We'll be getting either a Tiguan or Q5.

Since you're going to pay $25K for a not base model it really should have a hybrid version. Otherwise I'd prefer a 2012 Prius V which has enough room for tall guys and a station wagon interior.
@petslikepets12 жыл бұрын
You couldn't have said it better. They sell some of the most reliable, low running cost automobiles on the planet yet they punish their consumers with designs that can make even the most utilitarian driver cringe. I drive a Honda only for the function. Definitely not the form.

@RayzaBlayz What allot of people don't realize is that, Honda(and yes I'm a honda nut)keep there car's simple for the average working citizen, its not a luxury car co. only there Acura line,the less Jung they put on there vehicles, the less issues, Honda has a saying,"WE MAKE IT SIMPLE". And when you see another Honda on the road, that's an American working, so that's a good thing.

I'm baffled that anyone would buy an SUV with FWD with less ground clearance. That's basically a grocery getter with less fuel economy.
@IKhanNot12 жыл бұрын
@zainuintel Haha. Honda seems to get more and more dull as time goes on which is the polar opposite of what I would expect from them. Not one vehicle in their lineup impresses me in any aspect, just lacking all around. Thankfully their Acura division still produces amazing looking and driving vehicles with some soul to it.
@MrRams2713 жыл бұрын
@xoquixxoqafxo the Equinox has been proven to be able to achieve its fuel economy figures. Albeit in ECO mode but still its claims have been backed up. And Equinox has a renatl interior? Funny how it has constantly been named as either best in class or at the top of the class. And yes the CR-V is slightly quicker and lighter. It should be. Its not as long as the Equinox and the Equinox features much more sound insulation which keeps it so quiet.
@itsmegp4612 жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter. These two cars don't compare, not in type of car, not in price range. At any rate, the rest of the S class where the major portion of buyers, it comes with a 7 speed. The AMG is so powerful, it can get by easily with an older 5 speed automaitc. A modern 6 speed in a much less powerful 4 cylinder SUV provides better acceleration and better fuel economy. Someone who spends $140,000 won't be too interested in getting 1 or 2 more miles per gallon. CR-V competition has 6 speeds.

No more integras, no more prelude, fail with Honda MDX, fail with Honda Legend and now a horrible CRV to be introduced. Rest in peace Honda Soichiro.
