0-60 in 8 seconds is not fine. The vast majority of full-size SUVs and trucks do a lot better than that. As well as a lot of crossovers. If you're in a small car like the Sonata, and you're ever targeted by road rage, you're already at risk because the Sonata is too small, and low to the ground. Being so much weaker than the bigger vehicle is even worse. Every car should be held to a required performance range so that no vehicle has an exceptional advantage over another. It's not okay to just say every car doesn't need to be a rocket. Because if some cars are rockets, they all need to be.

I've had a '20 Sonata hybrid Blue trim since new, and my self-calculated average is ~49mpg over the last 50 tanks, though I do drive like a grandpa 99% of the time. Had basically no issues--certainly never been left stranded anywhere--and I highly recommend the car to anyone not ready for or unable to afford an EV. Larger or midsize hybrid sedans should've been our market's bread-and-butter, not the bloated gas-guzzling boxes and pickups that are everywhere now that people almost never use to their potential, anyway.

So glad they gave it a heavy facelift, the pre face lift of this gen was downright homely, and I've not seen an attractive Sonata since generation since the 5th gen 2005-2010. Infact my nostalgia for the 5th gen Sonata is probably also because that was the last generation to have the supremely reliable port injected engines. Back in the 2000s if you took care of them, they were as dependable as a Camry, but the Hyundai CDI engines are just not and never have been.

I’ve seen these on the road. They look awesome. Test an N line ! Yeah 8 second 0-60 is fine. It’s an economy car. I’m glad Hyundai and some others haven’t abandoned sedans. Personally I think CUVs are stupid. Barely get better mileage than a traditional SUV and don’t have the SUV’s off road capability. Minivans and station wagons are better cargo holders. During a recent move my 79 Buick Park Estate held more cargo than my 04 F150 crew cab Lariat with its 5”+ bed.

Surprised that it got better fuel economy than a Camry hybrid! Around me, everyone thinks Toyota is the only hybrid manufacturer, and I am very anti-Toyota - I'd gladly take this Sonata Hybrid any day (and I also prefer a real automatic over a CVT). Not to mention that I've already gotten a Hyundai to 330K miles and am not quitting anytime soon (2009 Genesis).
