Thanks, Mike. This video was extremely helpful. It's worth mentioning that if someone is planning to do the Evotech frame sliders, it is worth doing the radiator guards and sliders at the same time since a lot of the same pieces get removed. Your install videos are the best. Cheers

I'd read on forums that this was a pig of a job and best left to the dealer, but after watching Mike's video I was confident I could do it myself if I took my time and followed Mike's advice to the letter. I've just finished the installation, I took my time, made notes, and kept referring back to the video. Mike makes it look easier than it actually is, but with patience and plenty of time it is easily within the scope of the average motorcycle enthusiast. An excellent video, well done!

Just finished the install. The oil cooler nuts are hell with my fat fingers. I’ve watched other install videos for the guards and they aren’t even close to how thorough you were with instructions. It made this install much easier. Thanks and keep those install videos coming.

Great video! I installed mine yesterday and it went perfectly. I used some body shop masking tape and taped all the screws in place on each part after I removed it so none of the screws would get lost or mixed up. Putting the oil cooler nuts back on was definitely the hardest part of the job. I put some heavy duty grease on the tip of my finger and pressed the nut in the grease. I was then able to get the nut on the threads and slowly get it turned. It took about 3 tries, but worked great. Hope these tips help. It’s worth the effort. Looks fantastic and no more ugly bent radiator fins.

Great video. I fitted this only a few weeks ago on my V4S and it took a few hours. You made it look easy but trust me, getting the shroud off and keeping the new guards in place while pushing the shroud back into position is frustrating. Definitely improves the look as well protecting the radiator.

@@ClutchFirst Removing and tightening the rear radiator bolts was tedious. As for holding the radiator, used an allen key temporarily and lots of painters tape to prevent tool wear. A side ratcheting wrench would have done the trick much quicker.

I've done a lot of accessory installs. However, I paid my dealer to install the Evotech radiator guards on my Streetfighter V4S. If I had a lift, I'd have done it but I didn't want to crawl around on the garage floor in winter. On a separate note - got the Evotech tail tidy, frame sliders and Pazzo levers for my girlfriend's 400 from MotovationUSA - all nice products and easy to install.

This was a nightmare! I have to say. I would have never made it without this video. But their hardest part was getting the radiator and oil Guards in place and then closing the cover back up. I think it took me more than 90 min to get them slid in proper and the getting the cover closed. Weirdly the right side felt super tight. Like I had to really push it back in place I all the holes lined up… but I’m praying nothing fell out of place and caused the tension.

I now understand why these are $25K machines .... There appears to be a Top Hat spacer within the grommets for the upper mounts of the oil cooler - you shifted them partially out @ 15:49 when flexing the shroud forward. If these spacers were removed, would you have greater upward movement of the cooler, which would allow the lower shroud to be pried over the cooler spigot easier ?

Hey man, quick question, when you were putting the evo tech oil cooler and radiator guards on, when you reverse the process your video starts with you putting the hinged bottom piece of the shoud on, it skips the top pieces next to the radiator cap, does the bottom go on first then the top pieces or the top pieces then the bottom hing?

The best instructional video on this install. However, just like the others, the neglect to mention the most difficult part of putting it back together and skip it all together in the video. Putting the plastic pin with rubber back on the lower oil cooler is next to impossible. I had to take it into the dealer with shame. Don't do this install at home. Take the bike in.

Why can't someone make a plastic guard that just snaps into place????? I'm not ripping my bike apart like this!!!! Or, one that you slip some small zip ties through to fasten??? Just seems way to complicated for a simple guard.
@ClutchFirst
@ClutchFirst 3 жыл бұрын
I can definitely understand where you're coming from about the amount of work it takes to complete. At the very same time, it's a high end CNC machined aluminum that's designed to flow air, withstand high temp, vibrations and all types of debris. A snap on solution might not be as good, not to mention zip ties would look absolutely atrocious on this naked bike. In your case, I'd recommend having a dealer do it. Just keep in mind, when taking your bike to dealer, they do the same exact thing ( you just don't see it). Thanks for watching and don't forget to Subscribe!

They are from the bolts that mount the shroud to the tank. One of those bolts mounts the coolant reservoir to the tank on the right side and that’s where you’ll find the right side washer. The left side washer is for the same kind of bolt.
