The Microsoft Sidewinder x6 had a similar magnet mounted numpad that I absolutely loved. I LOVED the implementation of the numpad there, and never had any issues using it.

I just got my Everest with MX Brown yesterday from the Kickstarter. It's my first mechanical board and am really liking it so far. I plan to swap Zilents 67g into it after watching your reviews. I do like the Browns but think a heavier key will be better. Thanks

The browns have a tactile bump before they bottom out when you press a key, and the reds are smooth actuation with no bump, I play more video games so I prefer not feeling a little bump when I press a key but if you type alot some people prefer that feeling.

The Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard had an magnetic numpad free to attach on the left or the right side that worked like a charm. This was ages ago. Still in good memory.

"Keyboard System" - that's a good descriptor. Great review. I just picked up the Everest Max on a 50% off sale (!!) and am very impressed with its quality and capabilities. A couple of thoughts: I do think the USB cable allowing the numpad to connect remotely to the keyboard is about an inch too short - I can't quite place the numpad above the keyboard - but eBay has me covered here. Also, currently if the screensaver is set to clock you can't use the wheel to change volume (why?!!). You need to dig into the wheel menu to change it to "volume". FAQ suggests this may change. It really needs to. Finally, for PC peripheral history buffs, the first detachable numpad i am aware of is from the Microsoft SideWinder X6 Keyboard, from 2008. Mine still works (Win 11 still supports it even!).

Good to hear youre happy with it, Im considering ordering it now myself. However I was wondering is it possible to easily change what is shown on the four custom lcd keys? For example having a 'gaming mode' with shortcuts to say Steam, Origin, Epic, Discord then swithcing to 'creative mode' with shortcuts to launching Photoshop, Notepad, After Effects, Word etc? If so how many different profiles can you have. Thanks!

Only other keyboards I've seen that's done the numpad on the left side was one of the bloody brand keyboards and an asus keyboard. I've wanted more companies to do that because I think it's better for not just productivity but for gamers who would still like a full size board. Really cool to see someone else doing this.

It would be a neat thing for MMO players to be able to turn the detachable num pad into a macro keyboard with G1, G2, etc. Keycaps. Basically making it like the old corsair with a bunch of dedicated macro keys. Do you know if you can remap the num pad keys to macros?

The ping is noticeable and the Cherry MX Silent red are not silent at all. I actually think that the regular reds sound better in this video. Great to know there are ISO Spanish options. Those are extremely hard to get. I'm from Costa Rica and my custom build was impossible to get spanish ISO keycaps!

I agree the the Reds sounded better. We were talking about it after filming the sound test. The actual noise of the switch drowns out the ping. Of the 3, the Silent Reds definitely sounded the worst.

To me this seems like a company that cares I’ve never heard of them before but the packaging says a lot! Also, the build quality as well as the efforts they put into it. I personally have a k95 platinum, I have no reason to upgrade so I won’t lol but they are a company I would CONSIDER when I do choose to upgrade

I'm new to keyboards and switches, and I've been looking for a 915 TKL alternative, or rather build one myself. That being said, would low profile switches like the kailh choc's be able to mount to the PCB, or are the low profile switches not deep enough to reach the PCB with the plate in the way?

Okay so here we go, I'm going to try to keep this as short as possible: This keyboard is AMAZING, so glad they are doing this, this is EVERYTHING we wanted from the Corsair K100 and MORE. Complaints about this keyboard are for me first of all the detachable numpad, I get some people don't like it and that's fine, however I think they should make another version where the numpad is fully attached, that will make it a bit smaller as well, remove that pattern by the keys which you already said, they need to add dedicated macro keys such as on the Corsair K100 you got G1-G6. I like those and think they should do that, the dedicated media controls are amazing along with the rest of that unit, I will say though I also wish there was a version with it just permanently there in the top right corner or something and the back be a little raised up, the RGB a little brighter and fix the problem with the pure white not being able to show on this because I love that color, the wrist rest would obviously be the full length of the keyboard, and everything else is amazing, I hope to see Corsair do EXACTLY this in the future at a good price and I will easily buy that, another big thing here is only ONE cable with a USB passthrough, that is amazing and needs to be done, it's almost 2021 come on companies

I've been running a madcatz strike 7 keyboard for a while. But a recent move destroyed one of the buttons on its modular screen. This is looking like the closest replacement I can find for that keyboard. Looks like I'll be getting it, and my madcatz will turn into an experiment. I want to make it a mechanical keyboard and keep all the original functionality of the screen

Sorry to correct you -> the first keboard to my knowledge to have swappable numpad was the Tesoro Tizona (Numpad was sold as an accessory). Not a well known keyboard, but it's at least 5 or 6 years old now As a plus for this keyboard: the only other ones i know with HotSwap and ISO support are the GMMK line, so it seems like a great pick for EU/UK buyers that want both those features.

Sidewinder X6 was the first mass market keyboard with a swappable left/right numpad. It took me years to find a replacement for that board. It was an overall meh board but it's numpad was perfect. I got my Everest Max a couple months ago and ... omg. This is my keyboard until death. They really nailed my aging gamer needs.

It looks pretty good, but one thing I still don't like is the minimum cable length with the separate numpad. The cable connection should run on the top and be drawn back by a leaf spring. USB is petty overused in the product. It likely drives up the cost and it would be better if the separate numpad would be usable with other keyboards and laptops. Pack a separate and stadalone numpad beside a laptop in a carrying case, ideally. According to an other YT review, a card reader can be used with a top USB port.

it's sad that people forget about the microsoft sidewinder x6 for swappable number pad :(. although it's just a right to left swap. and u can turn the whole numberpad into a macro board (giving my old keyboard some pat because it deserve some love T_T) Also what do you think about putting dem glorious panda switches in it?

If Corsair can recreate this keyboard ALONGSIDE Everest which means Elgato X Corsair X Everest, this means the keyboard will be 10000X better and hopefully everything will be permanently connected as much as I love customization I just want the indicator LEDs on the keyboard and the dedicated media keys along with the wheel on the right side of the board, better yet put the dedicated media controls on the right along with a separate volume scroll wheel and then on the way left the wheel with the amazing tactile feedback
