I’m from RSM right up Melinda road from this lake. I never saw a mountain lion, which is scary. Because they were everywhere! & I always saw tracks in my yard. I had two dogs! I worked at nearby Rancho Las Lomas, and they used to feast on the farm animals for years… employees were told: never walk to cars alone late at night. Cuz of rattlesnakes & mountain lions. Often times we’d have a golf cart escort to back to our cars. True story!! Unfortunately, I never saw one of these cats before I moved to Cleveland. I miss So-Cal & lake Mission Viejo. I ran around that lake a least a hundred times. Special place!

Mountain lion risk it's life b/c it was desperate for food. Their habitat destroyed & their food has been poisoned to allow developers to build homes w/in the mountains. Wildlife is starving that's why they are coming into residential areas more and more.

Are the homes close to open land? Where I live they have been spotted 3 blocks inside the city. I live like a 100 feet from a mountain and open space that goes for miles. I have the feeling we might have one patrolling from time to time. We don’t go out after dark.

They're looking for a pet to eat. One night I heard the dogs carrying on in the neighborhood. One of the dogs had a smaller voice than the others and stood it's ground . . . probably a coyote. Then the "smaller voice" ceased. I've seen coyotes carrying off pets several times.

yep. kill the coyotes and kill that cat. It's survival of the fittest and humans are on top of the food chain. That cat wouldn't think twice about killing a dog, cat, kid, or even a human. I know a hiker who's buddy was killed and dragged into a den when they were hiking. Gotta stay strapped!
