Best mount in the business. Hands down, no debate. Lightweight, self level for innovation, rugged and great return to zero. I’ve got one on my Nightforce Atacr 1-8 for my SCAR 17. Absolutely epic.

Great vid Mike. Couple tips from my experience: when using a bubble level for both scope and rifle, the reference point should be edge of bubble adjacent to hash mark as opposed to bubble between the hash marks. This is because when bubble is between hash marks, it has some "wiggle room". Also if you are having trouble with the bubble on the scope, another good way to level scope is hang a heavy object from a rope at distance, aka a plumb bob, and align vertical crosshair with rope. Regarding levels, the iphone has a great one in the compass app, and the level built into your brain works surprisingly well so dont be scared to trust it in a pinch.

Bro I find where I want them for eye relief and then I use a carpenters pencil on the flattest surface underneath to “level” it. Lol then I tighten the screws in a “star” like I’m changing a tire and I’m done. The more time you spend mounting it the less time you have for taking pictures of it and looking cool

Only use a torque measuring device/tool to tighten Fasteners, never loosen. Can mess up the tool and when you tighten fasteners the torque can be inaccurate. May say 50inch lbs or what ever but its not because its out of calibration due to using it to loosen fasteners Keep up the great vids, Love the Channel

A suggestion that I learned when I went through a full time 2 year gunsmith program, instead of Locktite use baseball pitcher's rosin. You can buy a bag dirt cheap at even Walmart. Just open it up and dip each screw in the rosin. I've been using this trick for over a decade and never had one come loose not even on lightweight bolt guns chambered in large calibers.

Just me but mounting rings and glass I just sand bag rifle. Hang string and line cross hair on string. Done it for years and I shoot out to a mile with 300 Norma mag. No need to complicate process. Also no need for fancy tools. Good torque wrench and piece of string lol. After that just take bolt or bcg out and have upper bagged. Look for small object through bore ideally 100m then dial scope. Always on printer paper at 100m no tools or gadgets.

It's Patrick Bateman. Later in life he walked away from the NY 80s yuppie scene and joined the armed forces to clear his focus. He's now gone to wearing only the finest plaid shirts tucked up fully reciprocal inch thick sleeve cuffs. Now he recommends and fully satiates his image projection via well machined armaments, accessories, and equipment instead of Jean Paul Gaultier overnight bags, egyptian linen, Oliver Peoples glasses, or Huey Lewis and the News reviews.

I bought a rifle to operate as a DMR. I chose a Savage MSR 10 Long Range in 308. I plan on using a Bushnell lrts fde, 3×12×44. Ring wise I'll probably be going with vortex precision match rings. What are your views on this setup for the aforementioned application?

Cant you shim the optic after you get it level so it doesnt spin while tightening ? There is a flat spot on the bottom that would allow that i believe. It would drive me insane to chase that bubble for hours.

GT: Did you like the height of your scope mounted on the Bren 805 with the MSR style one piece mount you chose? I ordered a Bren and have wondered if it is necessary to use MSR height rings/mount since the stock is at an angle (eye is closer to the same level as the rail), whereas an AR15 tube is straight. Thoughts?
