@@jackolantern22 No it's based on a cash grab. There was only ever supposed to be one book but the success of the movie made the author and the studio's want more money hence the sequels. The first movie / book was perfect the way it was and should have ended there. I've purposely not watched any of the sequels as for me, it ended where it should have.

I have mixed feelings, I don't think we needed a new part after the last one, where everything finally ended well. It was especially hard to find out about Mr. Darcy's death, Bridget doesn't deserve such grief and it's a shame to see how they make it look like the main character doesn't care about her husband's death at all. And then there's the fact that in the last film there was a character played by Patrick Dempsey, who was supposedly the son's godfather, but we see Hugh Grant again.

Guys, can I be honest? I love Renee. The first film was really good. The rest were fine. But the character of Jones is baffling to me. She is an empty tank. So superficial and self absorbed. Someone explain to me how we're supposed to believe she attracts all these men acting so stupidly and uninterested in anyone's feelings or life except her own. I've never seen her share one interesting thought or conversation with any of these men who adore her. Puhleeze. She's boring af.
