If you took off the labels to put them on the brooder, do you still have an extra label still on for it since you put it back in the incubator to finish hatching out? Are the trays going to get mixed up to what cage it was supposed to be?

Where do you purchase 125 watt bulbs? Most of the stores in this area keep/sell only the 250 watt, which can become overbearingly warm! ha
@shannonrobinson2623 жыл бұрын
Order some from Amazon. They have them. Or some smaller feed stores carry more sizes. Also you can find them at reptile shops.
@ApiaryManager3 жыл бұрын
I notice that you didn't put marbles/stones in the waterers to stop them drowning. Is that an oversight or did you do it later?
@MyshireFarm3 жыл бұрын
No we don’t really have an issue with that but it is a good practice to do so. We just have been doing it for a while we have our own system
@briantorsell2 жыл бұрын
I noticed the furnace in the background. What's the ambient temperature of the hatching room? Is 125W sufficient in an unheated barn in Zone 6?
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
We keep it around 65-70 and the 125 watt does the rest

If you moved the tag, and put rest back in you better if any more hatch out, how do you know switch cage they came from ???
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
Those go into a separate brooder and not used for this purpose.

What is the brand and model of your quail hatcher and where did you purchase.

We have a GQF Hatcher and a DIY Hatcher we made here at the farm

Do quail have a higher incubation rate than chickens or is it higher or lower I just bought some quail from your company and I’m waiting for them now but I’m also in the future I was thinking about hatching a few of your kinds of eggs as well so I was wondering what the hatching right was for quail

@anndye6862 жыл бұрын
why the blue paper towels? and do you grind there feed
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
No I do not grind the feed and the blue paper towels are much more stable for them and soak up the water better as well as having a much better grip as the regular paper towels will cause splay leg

Why no red light?
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
Much more expensive and with trying them we saw no difference in quail
@judicorbett94017 ай бұрын
Red light is for picking at spots. Mostly used with white chicks one will see a spot, peck and open it up. Next thing you know, everyone is after the spot and they kill it. Dark or patterned don't need red.
