Hi Sophie, let's hope the era of lockdowns will get over soon. Its a blessing that you are in one of the safest places now and its just because of this blessing, that covid case was identified just before your travel date. G'day Sophie, just saw this video in my feed (I'm subscribed to waaaaaayyy too many channels so I miss things rom time to time). Your trip to Qld might have been around my trip to Sydney! I flew to Sydney from Melbourne on 24 June and after a day and a half of wandering around (out of a projected 13-day stay) they locked down City of Sydney, Waverly and Woolahra (I think it was those three LGAs). I managed to get QANTAS to change my ticket but I had to go to the airport to do it and when I got home to Melbourne I had to go into quarantine for two weeks!!! So I weep for you - I deeply sympathise. I hope to see you travelling around again soon, enjoying more of the opportunities that moving to Australia was supposed to afford you. If I could get a job and a visa I would have moved to Portland OR years ago, and Portland has turned into a hot mess these last twelve months. I guess we just enjoy what we can and do our best, no? Let us know next time you come to Melbourne!

Hi Adam, so glad you found my channel. It would have been exactly around the same time. Oh my, that would have been so frustrating to fly to Sydney for a few days then to cut your trip to fly home to then quarantine. I hope things are doing better over in Melbourne. It doesn't look like Sydeny is coping at the moment. I fear another extension is looming. Hopefully in October once things start to slow down and the vaccine roll out speeds up, restrictions will loosen and I can at least travel around NSW. Counting down the days until we're able to travel again! xx

It's really weird that you are meant to be in a lockdown in NSW and you're not wearing a mask while out in public. As a South Australian we are now out of lockdown, but wearing masks while out in public is still mandatory, so yeah, mind blown...

Hi Catherine, I appreciate your comment however in NSW (particularly in the Waverly LGA), at the time of filming, face masks are not required when walking outside in non-busy areas / streets or when exercising. Masks are required when standing in line, ordering food and in busy areas. I carry a mask (with a filter inside) everywhere I go and did put on my mask when I ordered at the bakery (not shown). As you will also see in the video, I keep my distance between myself and others. When walking on the promenade in Bondi, I also did put on my mask (not shown). When doing the coastal walk, I filmed this on a Tuesday when it would be less busy and there was barely anyone there. I would like to say that I am too as concerned about the cases and would like lockdown to be lifted.
