Mahalo for interviewing my husband! He’s a quiet guy, not like me, tita from Kona!!! 🤣 I even saw my grandchildren running around in the background! My husband grew up in Honouliuli and we were fortunate enough to rent there and all three sons grew up in old time Honouliuli with the Shokai Store to go to for old time snacks! Let me know if you ever need more info! 🤙🏼

Do yall ever think you'll make a personal youtube channel? I would definitely watch it. While the real estate information is helpful, you guys enjoy what you do and have a good time "exploring" through the real estate properties that it emits good energy all around for us viewers.

We have been strategizing a few more channels, actually. It is a heavy lift though and easier said than done :)

All that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, the drone footage and the editing is always epic, then you have you and your team always giving good energy and keeping it real. Your passion shows and I’m truly amazed, I only have one kid and I don’t know how you guys do it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I watch you guys all the time! I’m not a local but my dream is to live there on Oahu one day! I was raised in Los Osos / Morro Bay, CA and still live locally in San Luis Obispo, CA (same area). It’s been taken over by newcomers recently and blown up! I can somewhat understand how the locals feel in Hawaii. I live in a tourist area. They take over and trash our beaches and have pushed us locals out with housing prices. We were raised to respect the beaches and the beautiful nature here but other new comers don’t respect it. It’s so hard and I miss how it used to be here. I’m ready to move on.

Cool video! I did a reverse Rick Kane...Born and raised in Ewa Beach. After my father retired, he decided to move to Florida. Kept surfing...Went pro. I lived in old Ewa Beach and at Iroqouis Point in the 60's and 70's. Surfed a load of spots...the known (Lots, Shark Country, Haubush, Tracks...to some lesser known spots such as a break in front of rocks past old Nimitz). It is crazy to see the "new Ewa". I knew like Ewa...Ewa Beach...Campbell Park...West Loch. Never imagine this. Well...one day I paddle back at Haubush for old times sake. Good fortune to you both!

my mom lives hoakolei and she has been waiting for more than a decade for wai kai to open. All she ever wanted was to be able to walk somewhere for her morning coffee. and now she has it!! pretty soon they gon open up the road directly to the beach, so that is exciting! i know its controversial--but at least get stuff for do now in ewa beach! lol..

As a kid I grew up in the Apartments on the hill in Makakilo in the mid 90s. It was cool watching the place develop. Late 90s moved on to Hickam Housing. Early 2000s attended Radford. Then moved North Shore, graduated from Kahuku 🤙 lived Australia and New Zealand. Now currently raising a fam in Utah. Life has its challenges, but it's beautiful, and the people you meet are to.

Aloha gang! Hey, this may sound like a dumb question, but I just read an article that said seniors that own their homes in Hawaii pay zero property taxes. One of 13 states that were listed. And if so, at what age does Hawaii consider one a senior?
@movingtohawaii Жыл бұрын
Aloha. That’s a good question and I’d like to see the article, but that isn’t true to my knowledge. If you go to our Live streams and go back to the one with Dr. Andria Tupola, she talks about this.

As a Waikiki hospitality worker, very curious to see what hotel/hotels open here. Depending on what hotel companies and what brand they choose for this area, I would consider looking for employment in the area and housing. Would never look in ewa beach if I were to work in Waikiki. The commute is a deal breaker.

aloha - you mention "Marina" - the Wai Kai Lagoon will never be a Marina. That is a 20-year old concept that was scuttled long ago. It is a watermans lifestyle recreational resort complex. Great insights otherwise of the stoke factory!

There is no need to divide the content for another channel when it is all related to "moving to Hawaii." You would have to make a lot of videos more consistently for that to be worth it.

@movingtohawaii Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your comment. I guess the conversation has to be X vs Y X = how much do we actually make or get people to move here who otherwise wouldn’t… Vs Y = relocation is a part of the economy and real estate industry either way and we affect it in a negligible way. Traditionally the real estate teams that participate in this niche have not been comprised of locals. Would you rather local families represent and indoctrinate aloha while earning, or not? I hear you though kanaka. ♥️🤙🏽
@keaka560 Жыл бұрын
@@movingtohawaii Am sure you are aware of local generational families are priced out and have to move. No more transplants. Lets keep what we have and the culture. That's what I meant. 10-15 years ago I said Hawai'i is no longer the place I grew up in. No beach access, no hunting access, no nothing access. Now generational families are being pushed out . I welcome tourist, not transplants
@piilania Жыл бұрын
This kind of "entertainment" is what continues to go wrong for Hawai'i. I would urge you people who are encouraging others to "Move to Hawai'i" to be more pono and not commercial. Shame that you promote what is going wrong for Hawai'i. But you all are in real estate so you contribute as a matter of making money off of stolen land so,,,

I lived in Ewa Beach in the 70s when it was a real, badass sugar cane town where locals, haoles, PI's. Hodgies and Samoans all hated each other. It wasnt as dangerous as the west coast, but no picnic either.....All cane on the north side of Papipi Rd, clean, lush, well-kept neighborhoods between there and the ocean.....This area is now basically a slum.....No freaking beach parks, golf courses and condo developments as far as the eye can see. That would have been the cane, which smelled sooo good when they were burning.....we used to swim in the huge artesian outflows which ran down the wooden, above ground flumes into the fields. We picked magic shrooms on the way to surf the North Shore up in the highlands after an overnight rain. Campbell HS prom at the Iliki....walking the two blocks to Hau Bush DIRT rd, with trash and mattresses and a pungent aroma of abandoned trash.....down past Sand Tracks to surf the Cove, and firing up a doobie for the occasion. Good and bad, I wouldnt trade those days for anything....THAT was the real Ewa Beach. What you have now is a joke of an overdeveloped, overpriced ruined part of Oahu never to be seen or experienced again....Ya'll can have it - knock yourselves out!!

Coves! Sketchy place to surf, but guarantee no one out. I’ve had some good sessions there myself.
