Good job on the conversion. I had a guy buy one of those washer frames. He uses them to haul around a propane tank for a weed burning torch.
@mikespain86552 жыл бұрын
That was cool. I knew most pressure washer engine crankshafts were too short for a mower. Never thought about the blade adapter trick, plus you have to have a brake safety kill switch. Good job man. In a pinch, you can weld a stripped flywheel nut, I have done it on an old mower before. I have 6 dead pressure washer pumps with good engines. So I know there are options by thinking out of the box like you did. Got two self-propelled mowers with bent crankshafts in the last week.

First thing you've got to do when heading a little project like this is to wear closed shoes. The lawn mower with 3 threads stripped? A solution would be a 1/4 washer to pull the nut to the upper threads that i see still capable to hold 45ft/lb of pressure. Just my little observations.

DEAR HENRY: I HAVE A 6.0 HP BRIGGS ENGINE THAT CAME OFF A TORO SUPER RECYCLER WHICH I CHANGED BRAKE CABLES AND THE PROBLEM I RAN INTO WAS GETTING THE TOP COVER CONTAINING THE PULL ROPE TO LINE UP CORRECTLY WITH THE CREW HOLES IN FRONT AND BACK. DID YOUR SCREW HOLES LINE UP CORRECTLY WITH THE COVER? THE PROBLEM WITH MINE WAS THE BRAKE STOPPER THAT SITS ON THE FLY WHEEL HAD A PART OF IT THAT INTERFERED WITH THE COVER. I HAD TO USE A DIFFERENT COVER FROM ANOTHER BRIGGS WITH A 6.5 HP.
@MowersNBlowers28 күн бұрын
Yeah of course! Not all covers universally fit every engine. You’ll need to use the toro cover for that engine and paint it to match your new mower
@erichines27812 жыл бұрын
Those push mower bolt are self tapping bolts so it will make the threads in the sump cover to put it on the mower deck

you can also swap the manual choke carburetor assembly with the other removed engine carb assembly which appears to have a primer bulb. same thing can be done with an auto choke equipped mower you have to swap the muffler though due to the needed thermostat for the auto choke, just something to keep in mind.

Very nice but what about the manual choke on the pressure washer engine? Can you fit this engine with the auto-choke mechanism and carb from the other? It’s kind of hard to work the manual choke with one hand on the bail lever, no?
@MowersNBlowers2 жыл бұрын
Yes good point! As you saw, I just leaned over and took the choke off, but good point, I don’t think adding the air cane would work because the carb has the clicking spring that holds tension on the choke lever, I guess you can remove the clicky spring out and add the air cane, but the carb is t made for it, unless you changed the carb to an auto choke version.
@mjg2632 жыл бұрын
@@MowersNBlowers yeah that’s what I was thinking, take all that crap off the other engine and mount it on this one (if all the holes are there). It’s great to know there are blade adapters that can lower a short shaft engine to a useable height, I had no idea they were out there. Also pretty cool that Briggs taps the crank no matter what the engine is on, unfortunately Honda doesn’t.

@MowersNBlowers Жыл бұрын
Yes but how you going to adapt bail handle cable onto power washer?
@malcolm4200 Жыл бұрын
@@MowersNBlowers I was thinking maybe the bail handle and engine brake could perhaps be eliminated, after all that is just a safety feature found on lawn mowers due to them having a blade, so not needed on a pressure washer ?

How were you able to use the narrower bolts on this without the engine moving around on the deck? I am assuming the power washer bolts were narrower than the lawnmower bolts. If there were no threads how were you able to mount the engine to the lawnmower deck?

Tighten the nut on the bolt, there’s 3 holes so very tight. The same 3 bolts hold onto a pressure washer stand, same thing

@@MowersNBlowers I have same Craftsman lawnmower with 6.5 hp engine and high back wheels. I can email you a photo if you send me your email address. My question is will the blade adaptor on my existing craftsman with 6.4 hp blade adaptor fit on the pressure washer engine? If not I also have a 6.0 briggs craftsman mower but the crank shaft is also too short since its on a toro deck. I wanted to put it on the higher deck but a lawnmower shop warned me that if I put a long blade adaptor on there the blade could fall off. I am assuming he thought there would be an allen key holding the adaptor on. The question will my existing blade adaptor fit on the briggs 6.0 hp engine? What is the part number for the blade adaptor that you used.

Nice Job Henry! I think you could use a Kohler spacer thats inside the blade adapter and it would give you about 3/8 of an inch lower on the adapter. That mower looks good and should be a nice push mower for someone and you still can sell parts from the other engine! 💲💰👍🇺🇸Roger
