haha yes wholeheartedly agreed but I would just give him enough money that he didn't have to struggle for a bit. But who knows, maybe he thrived even more because he had to make money thus how eventually he left us this enormous amount of legacy. nevertheless, Mozart did have some patrons adored him in his life time. He was not always in short of money and he had lived lavishly in Vienna having parties and playing snookers and playing his own string quartets and quintets with Haydn. Not bad for a composer, not bad for a genius (cus they usually are miserable.) :)

This is an elegant and wonderfully tasty example of what can be done with earlier music on modern instruments, if the players care enough to employ some historical performance practices (HIP). I've been a performer in HIP ensembles playing period instruments for nearly 40 years, and the delicacy and style of this performance impresses me greatly. Just proves once and for all that it can be done. The beautiful boxwood clarinet with gold fittings is just icing on the cake. I believe it's safe to say that Mozart himself would have approved of this performance. My congratulations to you all. So glad this came up in my feed today!
