Great video, great editing, classic sample! It's cool that you take this suject because it is not cover very often ans it is a classic ingredient for a Boombap beat. You talk about subject...Recently I dicovered the HUMANIZE fuction in the track menu. I like to record my hats and snares quantize and use this fuction to randomly humanize them (instead of nudge them on the grid). I don't think this is a frequenly used feature !! I guess? But I found a value in it! Peace
@malobeats3 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris, thank you so much for this valuable input, I had no idea about the humanizes function in the track menus I really want to give that a try cuz sometimes it can be a bit tedious to nudge each note. Thank you so much for this.

@malobeats3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for taking the time and watching the video I’m glad it was helpful. Great question, no I do not side chain the ghost kick I leave those alone and mainly focus on the main kick so the song isn’t pumping nonstop I think just with the main kick is going to give a good pump to the tracks

Hey Alan, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing this with me it really means a lot. Yes I recommend the skin 100% I’ve been using it and I usually move my MPC back-and-forth so it’s been getting banged up here and there and the stickers have been solid with no peeling at all.

@davidscott20953 жыл бұрын
Good evening, Mario. I am still trying to understand this process. I think that the primary purpose is for the sample to "duck down" a little so that you can hear the kick drum cut through the mix. However, wouldn't the same effect be if you were to increase the volume of the kick drum in the mix, or decrease the volume of the sample in the mix? I am a newbie, so perhaps I am missing something. Nonetheless, thank you for the video. Blessings!
@malobeats3 жыл бұрын
Hey David, I’m glad you asked a question and it’s actually a great question. You are correct about raising the volume of the kick drum if I want it to cut through but doing this side chain compression as shown in the video it gives it more of a pumping effect that a lot of people enjoy. It’s more for the pumping effect versus just raising up a volume, you would hear this effect a little more in lofi hip-hop where everything seems like it has a pumping feel to it.
@davidscott20953 жыл бұрын
