There is a lot of wisdom in this conversation. Personally as a Christian I adore my ancestors, my gran was my one of my favourite people. I understand however that Yahweh is almighty. There is nothing my ancestors can do for me that Yahweh, God Himself cannot do for me if I directly ask Him. He is worthy of ALL of my trust.

I enjoyed this too. But who is talking to Abraham or even praying to Abraham?
@no_prisoners64743 жыл бұрын
Bontle, is it not possible that that refers to the people in sheol or hades? Jesus is said to have saved them in Peter 3:19. And in Matthew 17:2 Elijah and Moses appeared to the Lord. If the dead know nothing then how could they have come to the living? In Hebrews 12 it is said we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses. Matthew 12:27 and Luke 20:38 God is not God of the dead but the living. For to Him we are all alive. I am not saying that all these scriptures are definetly in favour of ancestors but I am definetly saying that they can prove the case of people who acknowledge that their forefathers are with them. And thus I respect their beliefs.

It's not bringing anybody's religion down....we as Christians we are simply fulfilling the command of Jesus go and preach the gospel into all the earth. We are commanded to tell the truth of God. So as a child of God I have a responsibility to speak the truth of the word of God. My prayer is that the truth of the word of God will bring conviction and condemnation. We need to understand that this world is not home.....we are created by God to worship Him alone. And we leave this world we should be with Him for eternity. We cannot afford to beat around the bush because eternity is a long time and Jesus is coming SOON.

It was a great conversation in terms of uplifting others. However it is important to be firmly rooted in the Word if we choose to walk with Jesus, otherwise you will stumble and may cause others as well to stumble. We as believers must not try to make the Gospel fit our lives because by doing that we begin to form our own doctrines and will move away from Christ himself. It is easy to become of the world and move away from Christianity because the path to Salvation is narrow. We need to understand our true purpose and if we say we are Christians then we need to introspect and assess if we are still in line with what God the Father wants from us. Our aim should be to bring people to Him (the Lord) and not cause them to scatter. We are all our brothers keepers and must avoid adding confusion because others are still figuring Christianity out and may be held back because of belief systems within their society/ family etc. So you can make things worse for such people to follow Christ fully if you add confusion and start adding ancestors in a way God did not intend. The great thing about Christianity is that it is about free will and you are not forced to believe and live by the Word if you do not believe and honestly that is fine, but do not try alter Christianity. When a person says they are “spiritual” it does not necessarily mean they are interested in Christ. Our generation follows blindly and people are now talking about “the universe tells me this, the universe will make it happen, the universe this and that” and what they may not reveal is that when they speak about god some are actually referring to the “universe” and not God the Father. Fitting in is honestly a problem for many of us🤷🏾♀️. In this world walking with Christ will become more difficult because the world will become more appealing and the standards of the world will be easy to live by. We will continuously justify our actions for believing and living how we live to make ourselves feel better. We need to become more intentional Christians if that is the path we choose for ourselves ☝🏾if you decide to follow African religion then also be intentional about that, if praying and manifesting to the universe is your belief system then be intentional about that. Whatever faith you choose be intentional and know what you stand for. Do not waver.
