I have been building my PC gaming set up for nearly a year now and the last thing I finally needed was a decent controller. I've spent the last 7 hours looking at reviews and trying to find the right one and every time I came close to finding something there would be a fault with it. I kept coming back to buying the standard Xbox controller and I couldn't bring myself to do it. 2024 and they want you to put AA batteries in a controller and then buy the dongle separately, also everyone was saying they only last a year. Thankfully I came across your channel along the way and when you started reviewing this controller I knew it was the one, thanks for the help. I used your affiliate link in the description to buy the controller.

It sincerely struck a cord in me, thank you very much for your kind words and for the gesture of using the affiliate link. @WhatsHappeningOnYouTubeАй бұрын
Hey, thanks for replying. Building my own rig would be beyond my technical expertise (You're talking to the person who struggled to buy a controller) but here is what I have now. A Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptop with a Nvidia 4090 graphics card, Meta Quest 3 headset, KIWI H4 Boost Halo Battery Strap, AMVR PU Leather Facial Interface, Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS, some other leads and bits and pieces, and of course the GameSir Tarantula Pro Controller. It took me a year due to the cost of everything, and I hit a few other problems as well. With the Black Friday sales on I said now is the time to finish it. I bought Half Life Alyx and Skyrim VR as they looked like the best VR games out there especially when modded. When I bought the laptop I was thinking of using it to start my own KZbin channel where I interview other KZbinrs and ask them about their own channels. I won't shill it here, but if you click on my profile you'll see the one short clip I made. I got side tracked from this when I started up a new job, and I really want to try and have a go at it after Christmas. Let me know what you think.

So TMR still uses magnets and wont get any stickdrift right?
@GameTechTalk3 ай бұрын
Exactly yeah, it stands (if memory serves me right) for Tunnel Magnetic Resonance, or something like that. Basically, it's still the same conceptually, a magnet moves and the reading is captured but my understanding is that the way said magnet moves causes less power to be used, but also for a more persistently linear outcome to occur. The drift still is extremely unlikely, though not outright impossible. Hall-effect drift is likely to occur because the magnet lost its power but that can take more than a century so the likeliness is small unless it's a defect out of the box.

Hmm... So, personally, the d-pad on the 2C was a step back for me personally. I'd say I prefer the D-pad on the Tarantula but I can admit that the diagonal specifically is irritating if you play games where those are often required. Because it has no center pivot and short travel tactile clicks, you can't "pre-press" the diagonal, if that makes sense. That is not a problem on the 2C but I would say the 2C is not as reliable for input commands in my testings, it should be better when talking about the diagonals too. I'd still favor the Tarantula because the problem is more better addressable, but you have to intentionally move your finger to the adjacent arrow, you can't just twist your thumb, if you know what I mean.

i saw many video of yours and you never came close to 28k score , those TMR sticks are kicking ass . the mechanical AB to BA switch is just a gemmic , the membrane face button is what killed it for me , cuz i like mechanical buttons and i am not going back to use membrane again. I think for most controllers there are two common points for failure / wear and tear , the sticks start being unaccurate or they become physically not able to return to the center , the second is the face buttons , they become unresponive over time.

I gotta say, I disagree with you finding it unfortunate the software isn’t on windows! I think it’s amazing it’s mainly on mobile! As a MacOS user who doesn’t own a pc, I was shook Fr when you ‘now lets look at the software’ and I saw a portrait screen recording of your phone lol. I never even thought of that as being a solution for these kinds of applications. This has sold me on buying this, like asap. I game 100% on my MacBook these days. Originally I gave away my consoles for the sake of only ever using my switch, then eventually even that was gone with the recent evolutionary boom of gaming on Mac. Being able to run every switch game in my Mac, and finding ways to port majority of windows software and games to run on it as well has been a dream come true for me. Except for… figuring out a decent controller I can get that’s not gonna essentially software lock me into having a feature rich controller act only as your barebones basic Xbox 360 controller. I'm not sure of the exact runtime but I can tell you I played 5hours straight from a fully charged controller the other day and it worked fine. The dock does help keeping that controller always at 100% too but I wouldn't know how much exactly would be the total run time, I'd assume probably 10+ on full features being utilized but that's guess work.

Pricy for a GameSir controller and I can see why. But why only a single design/color??
@GameTechTalk3 ай бұрын
If I make a quick analysis, this is effectively GameSir stepping into a market that they do not really have a foothold in. On the other hand, it is very much "GameSir-DNA" to bring other colors on their console-like controllers. So if I had to make a quick guess, they are penetrating a market without a foot in it by sending a shockwave, and I'm early with this review but give it time, opinions will come out positively about this one, I would bet on that. That shockwave is for multiple reasons, speaking to an underserved market (symmetrical controllers), bringing tech we've never seen before (TMR on 12-bit + buttons moving + 9 user mappeable buttons), and all that, under a stupidly low price for what it provides, all while still keeping other components quite high in quality and feature. By having a second color, it would increase costs. If that controller is successful the way I think it could be, we'll have a new color within 3-6 months and I hope it would be an all-white!

Update: Updated to firmware 2.04 now the only button pc reads is the left analog stick, switching through modes just messes my entire computer up.

Dang that sounds scary, I got to admit, I haven't experienced that myself but if you get the chance to update us on your progress/findings, please do so. I'm sorry to hear it's giving you issues! :(

@@GameTechTalk luckily the fastest fix for the pc issue was just restarting it.. it wasn’t able to click anything to open it, type, and my mouse buttons were just doing other actions. I’m going to just send this one in for return, get a replacement and hopefully it’s better. If I experience the same issues hopefully that’ll let me know it’s just more software/firmware related rather than a defective controller.

@@zhroudzy Fingers crossed that that'll be the last of it.

Do you know any controller for PC/MAC that support wireless mic/audio over bluetooth/wifi?? Thanks

I tested a couple that I thought might have that feature but was met with no result. From where I stand, this seems to be a "wired" feature in the world of controllers, or at least, I wouldn't know which controller to guide you towards, sorry.
