@sandra caraveo I never realized people would find my life interesting, to be honest. The last year or so with covid keeping everyone home more than usual eventually led to me breaking out a few of my favorites They were very well received, so I'm leaning towards writing a book, to see if their are enough lunatics out there to support it :) I grew up on our large Texas ranch, dad was a fighter pilot (WWII, Korea, Vietnam) 3 out of 4 brothers were military pilots and later airlines. I was a fighter pilot, bush pilot, corporate pilot, research pilot, airshow pilot...loved any job the second word of which was "pilot". I also spent over a decade in law enforcement, of course. Lots of weird stories there. I even have one err...ufo?...story. I hope it all comes together. It would be interesting hearing (positive) reactions to my life experience.

You're feet warm up quicker by a campfire then you take your boots off, anyones guess why they never put them back on after, maybe frostbite makes it too painful/clumsy (and actually thawing out your feet like this after frostbite is probably excruciating) so realising their feet are too far gone anyway they give up and go barefoot. Another thing that often gets forgotten is snow blindness, altitude sickness and the neurological effects of stress and shock.

As a former 0311, I had some disturbing incidents at Camp Lemonnier that were silenced. I have photos(digital and disposable camera) and tried to file reports that were ignored and I was summarily punished for. This ended in a ton of issues with members of my platoon, but my fire team always believed my claims. I have pictures taken through the FLIR on our 240G that cannot be disputed. I appreciate your open mindedness to things that cannot be explained and what needs further explanation. Keep in mind, this was around 2004-5 and minds were more significantly closed than they are now. You have encouraged me to revisit the “environmental interactions” that took place during this particular deployment. Thanks for helping me put the shame aside and look from a different perspective. If you are interested in telling my story(other men from my fire team can attest to these strange occurrences), please let me know. In the first story, I suspect that it wasn't Aaron that responded on the radio. It was his killer. It's unlikely that he would have wound up so far away from his intended destination, given his familiarity with the area. The only reason he might do so is because either he is somehow inebriated or because he was withholding something from his friends (such as having a secret cache with drugs or something he really wanted to get without being judged). I think that while Aaron as away, someone attacked him and then pretended to be him on the radio to throw them off and possibly buy time to escape or hide the evidence.
@bigangenbygang Жыл бұрын
Could've been a stroke, or some other kind of health event. Just something to make him lose cognition a bit, but still be able to speak. I doubt it was someone impersonating him. Someone who had just killed him wouldn't know his voice or cadence of speech. If it was a killing, much more likely that either they kept him as a hostage briefly, thus allowing him to use the radio to reassure his friends, or that he wasn't attacked until after the first radio transmission.

The thing that always strikes me about these stories is that people say they looked away for only a minute. People suck at telling time. I've been in my apartment, with clocks in every room and thought I'd been doing something for a minute or two, only to realize it was more like 5. Whenever I hear these stories I double or triple how long people say they looked away for, and suddenly a disappearance becomes far more plausible.

I’ve noticed a similarity about children in a variety of types of cases. Here are some of the situations: A girl is abducted on a route between her home and another house or place she has gone many times. This one time it was dark, or this one time she was alone. In those cases there were abductions and murders. In other cases, parents tell their kids to go, right over there. But the parents turn their back assuming the kid can of course walk over to grandpa, or down a path back to the bathroom. Then there’s one of a handoff between parents, where a girl walks away from one parent toward the other, and a woman grabs the girl as she passes by in view of the parents. In all these situations, there’s an assumption that the kid is going to follow the simple path, immediately, and that the area along the path is safe.. None of the accounts were written to blame the parents. It’s just my observation that sending a child somewhere could be done more safely if an adult is with them. For example, drive them to the friends house; walk the toddler over to Grandpa.

There are several things David Paulides recommends when going camping/hiking/hunting/fishing : 1) never go alone. BUT if you do always have a personal locator beacon. ALWAYS; 2) tell people where you're going, when you'll be back; 3) if someone is with you and they say they're tired or feeling sick, DO NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE (point of separation); 4) if on a hike, don't be the last in line; 5) don't run ahead of the group even if the topography is flat (point of separation). You can read all of these things in David's books but he has a KZbin channel. Usually on Wednesday's and Sunday's he talks about specific cases of the missing. He also recommends you share his info on Facebook, with friends and family. We all need to be aware of what is happening. Oh and just a FYI - the Federal Forest Service claims they don't keep records of people who go missing in their forests. David tried to get a list thru the FOIA and was told they don't keep that info. BUT if they did it would cost thousands of dollars to get it.

Maybe because he was afraid the sheriff would look but of course they would but it changes how they approach the search but David wouldn’t have covered it as a Missing 411 if he knew anything of this being true.

I cant imagine being in hundreds/thousands of kms of forest, whether I know them or not, sometimes you just get turned around in there. Although, it does beg the question, if he had a gun, why wouldn't he use it of he was being harmed? And I would say that it's impossible to walk 6 miles in 2 feet of snow with no shoes on! Hypothermia would literally make it impossible! I think be was murdered and his friends were possibly in on it!

Aaron taking his boots off is probably the most easily explained part. You’ve been to survival school you should k is that if it’s freezing out and you step in a puddle or otherwise get your feet soaked your first priority becomes getting them dry. His boots were found neatly placed next to a fire. Just sounds like an outdoorsman who got his feet wet and was trying to avoid hypothermia. As for why he left without the boots maybe he got scared away by a large animal.

“Large Animal” that brought back his stuff and placed them neatly, even taking a sip from his energy drink, and then later his remains are found. People are too afraid to say it, because society has been conditioned to laugh at who the culprits are. Just say it. It’s starts with a “B”. I can tell you this. The forest park rangers and the government know exactly what’s up. They know what’s out there, but they stay hush hush.
@garythompson53164 жыл бұрын
Cr1ms0nRav3n you’re right. That’s exactly what it was and this happened in many cases! I think some of them are hunting us for sport and then taunting us in some kind of sick game
@Cr1ms0nRav3n4 жыл бұрын
@@garythompson5316 I won’t rule out the idea that some would do it for sport. But I’m of the opinion that many of them are just extremely territorial and don’t tolerate humans in their area. A lone hiker, camper, hunter out smack in the middle of no where neck deep in the woods is extremely at risk. Some are opportunistic and will nab someone including a child if it’s within range and it can get away undetected. These things are masters of the forests. They hunt deer and elk with their bare hands, which are some of the most skittish and hyper aware animals out there, so a mastery of stealth and agility is fundamental. Human targets are child’s play to them. They return the clothes or items not so much to taunt I don’t think but also more so as a warning, to stay out. There are stories of folks who have been chased out or have barely escaped them. They don’t mess around.
@221BBakerStreet4 жыл бұрын
@@Cr1ms0nRav3n If, when you say it starts with B, you're referring to Bigfoot then I think you're on the wrong track. Bigfoot doesn't explain the sudden changes in weather or dogs not being able to pick up a scent. Or people being found in places already searched and in places that would be impossible for them to reach. Why are just about every 411 case where the persons' body is found they are found without boots or shoes? Or their boots are often the only thing they do find. Why are their bodies almost always found in or near bodies of water? And 411 cases are happening in urban areas as well as forests. Not too many Bigfoot (bigfeet? bigfoots?) found in down town Chicago. I believe that whatever is taking these people, it is, for now at least, far beyond our understanding. I've an idea about Connie's radio call. She was approached by an unknown person, took out her gun and put it under her jacket close to hand as a precaution. She was probably conversing with her attacker, felt something off, but not quite to the extent that she could pull a gun on someone who might well just be a lost hiker, and began holding the call button with the radio down at waist level, hence the muffled signal. Likely hoping for a call back to spook the attacker by making it known there are hunters nearby. Then she got got.

So, I'm also fascinated by these stories and agree there is something beyond sinister from the way all the objects end up being found and placed as if someone wanted them to be found and that's only after search and rescue have definitively searched thoroughly in the same place during the active search. It's all a mystery but my first theory is that it is human but with a macabre intention to commit these abductions, which is what I want to call them, crimes of opportunity. These cases show sinister similarities and it goes beyond frontiers. The two girls from the Netherlands that got lost in Panama are a great example. They disappeared then their clothing and belongings started to show up months after, neatly on rocks, the backpack nice and tidy and on the side of a walking trail, with a camera tucked inside and all the items as if someone had kept them out of the elements all that time. The Panamenian jungle! if you leave anything, tennis shoes, clothing, items, everything will be rained on and muddied from the frequent rain storms and currents that converge on any kind of surface or terrain even common thoroughfares and streets, imagine a backpack with electronics and clothing clean and dry after months of being out in a thick jungle where they supposedly got lost. They found a boot belonging to one of the girls whith her foot still in there and one other piece of thigh or hip bone. People say a savage animal, I say nonsense, I'm from Panama and the only predator which would be capable of this would be a leopard, and they are extremely shy and you'd be lucky to have caught a glance of one, they fear humans. So many of these 411 stories involve strong experienced outdoorsmen whose bones are found in tiny pieces, inside their shoes, and their pants and clothing just sitting like the missing person just melted into them. None of this makes sense unless there are individuals out there who share a particular appetite to commit these crimes and then enjoy the mystery they leave behind for others to find. I really think it's human made. I would never go in a small group or alone into a wilderness, never.

This supports my main suspicion in these cases , that there is something in some forests -- a toxic biting insect, a plant that releases some chemical, geomagnetic forces that are unknown, a reclusive telepathic animal species -- but something that temporarily confuses folks, turns off part or all of their rational mind or at least distracts it for long enough to disorient them. I've always found it impossible to get lost, too. Doesn't matter if I'm in the woods, or in a big, complicated building. Could be subconsciously keeping track, I suppose. My wife was originally from the Chicago area, and went to IIT for her first year in college. We drove up there, she knew where she was going, but still got lost. Eventually, I took over driving, and we were where we were going within five minutes...and I'd never been in that part of Chicago before. I think that would be the hardest thing about getting lost in the woods would be the fact I never get lost and would likely not know how to navigate (pun intended) that situation well. Add in having to get over the frustration of letting such a blunder happen in the first place. Not to mention that getting lost might've meant that I was in a very incapacitated or compromised mental/ physical state to begin with. You hear the story with Terrence and almost imagine some weird foul play where he was never even in the forest to begin with, was killed by a member(s) of his crew earlier in the day, who then texted his family saying he’d be coming home in order to be able to tell it to police that that’s what he’d been saying, and there would be “proof”. Story makes literally no sense.

See, I agree with this. This story from the producers just doesn't sit well with me. 1. What made you run after him rather than assuming he might return from whatever he was planning to do or wherever he was planning to go in the forest? Also, most people hesitate to contact authorities so instantaneously as they did because we never really want to believe that our loved ones could be in danger. Especially if they left by their own choice. Which is what they're saying he did. So why assume he wouldn't come back? What made them believe he was in danger in the short amount of time they claim it took them to run after him and come back? And what made you run after him in the first place? What danger did you assume he was in if he just left on his own for no apparent reason? Must have been some reason, at least a big enough one for you to automatically assume the worst. Idk. It just bothers me.
@brambleon11 ай бұрын
Nahh, I can't believe this theory, we know nothing of the "cliff" he "jumped" off of. Sounds more like a steep hill, how else would they be able to go after him? He wasn't enjoying the job(and possibly the life he had), and we know nothing of his mental state. Maybe he just broke then and there and decided to "escape" into the woods thinking somehow it would "free" him. @kristinsevin saying, "most people hesitate to contact authorities so instantaneously as they did because we never really want to believe that our loved ones could be in danger". This is a professional film crew, not a bunch of random civilians or a family on vacation. They don't want the lawsuits or damage control for a nature doc. He could have been in mental distress and wanted out of life. I saw a theory by someone who lived nearby in one of the comments about this one where radiation and such was common in this area, so maybe that fucked with his head as well.

one thing to keep in mind regarding these cases: People suffering from severe hypothermia often reach a point where their brain is barely functioning. Along with things like paradoxical undressing, this can lead them to not process important information. In some situations, people have walked right across a road when lost in the woods and severaly hypothermic. They don't think to follow the road or wait by the road for help - they just keep moving forward. This explains why someone wouldn't recognize that they're at the edge of someone's property, for example. This doesn't explain all of these bizarre cases but it can shed some light on some of them.

I live a few hours east, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, which is channeled by many islands and the Rocky Mountains in the back drop. Tofino is located on the west coast where it is complete dense forests, the open ocean and is known as a “beach town” where people all over the world will go to surf, enjoy local businesses, and stay at the resorts. It is very small and has vast sandy beaches referred to as “long beach” and connects to another small town called “Ucluelet”. The trail the boy mysteriously vanished from is a well marked walking trail, that’s fenced around to stop you from walking off parts of the cliffs, and has trail markers everywhere. I’ve walked those trails many times. I’ve never heard of the missing boy story until watching this episode months back. Never thought I’d see the day where a missing 411, let alone another story takes place where I’m from. Half of Vancouver island is rural nature, and I’m not surprised if there’s more mysterious things that happen here.

I'm curious with Terrence's case how credible the Dr. Phil interviews were. I know he can be really misinformed at times and the interview only included opinions from Terrence's family and friends and the sheriff. The day he disappeared he told his father he was going to leave the film shoot 2 wks earlier than planned which seemed out of character and they questioned if it was even him who sent the text. Terrence's father on the show claimed that his clothes were folded and seemed unworn & there were no dirty clothes (besides muddy shoes) even though he was there for 4 days before running down that hill. It doesn't make a lot of sense that he'd have muddy shoes but not muddy pants, so what happened to his dirty clothes? The crew also spent a lot of time telling his family about Terrence's poor work performance which his past coworkers say doesn't sound like him and it's a weird thing to focus on when he's missing. The missing dirty clothes has bothered me.

It is very strange with how it went down. What could of happen is that the crew working with Terrence didn't like him because he was moving high in the job faster than normal. That or they felt like he was too snobby. With Terrence stating he wasn't looking forward to this trip tells me he knew the people he'll be working with and knew they hated him. Knowing the trip is going to be horrible by interacting with these people must of been painful since Idaho is a very beautiful state. My best guess if you want to find him, look in the nearby mines. Aaron was a victim of hypothermia (I’ve had it, and it makes your brain absolutely stupid). He stopped at the cliff, not feeling cold at all (due to hypothermia), build a fire and took off his boots because he felt warm. Feeling warm, he decided to get up and go for a walk. When you have hypothermia, you can’t feel your extremities, so walking in snow in stocking feet or bare feet is not a problem (I know, I’ve had hypothermia...and survived). So he just kept walking - because hypothermia made his brain completely unreasonable. When he saw that clearing and the farmhouse below, he sat down at the edge of that tree line, took off his back pack, opened his thermos, and sat down to “hunt.” Remember, the blood has been pulled from your extremities in order to keep your core warm. And your thoughts are not thoughts of a normal human being - it’s like you’ve had a lobotomy; you really can’t think rationally at all. So, he sat there, enjoying the sights and the rest, when a grizzly bear came up from behind him and grabbed him, dragged him that distance, then promptly ate his frozen feet because they were exposed. After which, the bear was scared away and didn’t finish his meal.

@@codeXenigma It's not always that simple. Hypothermia is from a drop in _core body temperature_ - it's not just a bit of frostbite on your limbs. It causes confusion, memory loss, slurred speech, etc. People who are suffering from it have actually been mistaken as being drunk. It's entirely possible that they genuinely thought they were hot, overexertion is also a very real concern in the cold as sweating (and being wet in general) is _extremely_ dangerous. If they even were thinking about their training at all at that point then they may have simply been ironically trying to avoid a dangerous situation by shedding layers.
@biggdogg998483 жыл бұрын
Nothing to do with hypothermia this has happened in hot climates as well its extremely strange mind boggling actually
@MrXaeb3 жыл бұрын
There are a few reasons to remove your boots. One simple explanation is your feet are extremely cold. Anyone who has spent time in a cold environment will have experienced having their feet aching horribly from being too cold. This can be from feet sweating during exertion and then becoming very cold when stopping movement, slowing blood to your extremities. I personally have experienced this. I'd remove my boots and socks and rub my feet trying to get blood flowing to stop the pain on winter hunting trips or snowmobiling as a young man before learning the proper footwear to avoid this. Hypothermia can be a cause. This usually involves blood being pumped to the capillaries in the skin's surface in an attempt to warm the body. It often makes people feel very hot and they'll strip down which, of course, exacerbates the hypothermia. Another reason is getting your boots wet inside. If your feet are wet and you happen to be standing in snow they will get extremely cold, very fast. Getting them off is crucial to avoiding frostbite. I always carry a dry pair of wool socks that is excellent at wicking away moisture and wear waterproof gore-tex boots when in the wilderness. The gore-tex membrane is waterproof but allows your feet to breathe so they don't sweat as much. Aside from the hypothermia, though, I can't imagine why people leave their boots after removing them. Any experienced outdoorsman would know that even if you suspect you're becoming hypothermic you're going to need those boots and clothing to make it very far. Perhaps hypothermic delirium is the reason they leave their clothing behind but if they're delirious, why are their clothes and boots always so neatly folded and arranged?
