If a child likes clothes that don't fit their gender stereotype, that says more about the child than the parents. I HATE dresses, but my parents never forced me to wear less feminine clothes, I chose to be a tomboy. What you did was you confused the wage gap with the pay gap, sure wage gap includes things like hours worked and different fields HOWEVER the pay gap is the uncontrolled version which looks at men and women from the same field with same hours worked and shows that there is still a gap. Women are less likely to ask for raises and studies showing bias and them being seen as more "bossy" when they do ask for them Also many important female dominated professions like nursing and elementary school teachers don't get great pay.
