We're more anti-social in everything for the sake of capitalism and it makes any pre-existing biases worse culturally. As a result I'd argue we probably have more creeps as a direct result of that, which also makes things worse for the people creeped on. Our culture comes from our immigration and large swaths of our country are insulated from those other cultures on top of the fact that we killed off all the natives AND did shit like Jim Crow. This means that we have a major lack of culture where capitalism hasn't force-fed people artificial aesthetics instead. So on God y'all probably have better communities overall in that aspect tbh. Your problems are different than ours despite BOTH having politically active conservatives existing within our communities. We unironically hate just eachother more.

The culture here in the US has always been extremely patriarchal, and the country was founded by religious extremists that got chased out of Europe for trying to force their crazy on everyone else (which never changed). This is sexist culture has been ingrained for decades, reinforced through our pop culture into today. Many women have been getting sexually harassed since before puberty, and an alarming number have been sexually assaulted before the age of 18. We have to be wary because even men that we considered friends can decide one day that they'll force themselves on us. Too many men consider that a woman being friendly with him means she's interested in sex, and when they make advances it's terrifying because we don't know if they'll react violently or verbally abuse us when we reject them. It's unsafe, and we nearly always get blamed for the actions of these men.

I’m visually impaired and people just don’t get it. My family means well, but their lived experience isn’t applicable to me. Dad says, “Get a girlfriend” mom says, “Just have sex” sister thinks I’m ableist, when I say I can’t read people. The only one who has no comment is my brother, and I thank him dearly for that. Am I wrong for being frustrated and lonely. I don’t think so. I don’t blame women at all. There are efforts I can make however small. Putting in that self work can be hard sometimes and I don’t know where to start.

I actually got to be in the room during a procedure where they were putting a little band around the esophagus to prevent acid reflux in a person. This was a very invasive surgery and I can't imagine the post op pain that person had to go through. And it's more than just cutting you open, they have these little clamps on long poles that they use to grab and tear away flesh. This sounds brutal but it actually helps with a faster recovery than if they were to cut. Not to mention there are also certain things you probably wouldn't want to try cutting, a major nerve for example. But yeah, modern surgery is way better than it used to be, thanks to hand washing and anesthesia. But also tiny cameras on sticks are incredibly useful aswell.

I recently ended an engagement with a woman who had been in two abusive marriages and had 3 kids, 2 of which lived with us. I tried my best to be understanding and showed that while I may not understand feminine issues I can be supportive and try to listen. I’m autistic and had a lot of changes at once and could be a dick after a long day, but I tried to work on myself and admit when I was wrong and would apologize to the kids if I was out of line. I don’t have children of my own so it was new, I was expected to be perfect and I got dismissed when I explained my side of a story or tried to communicate. She projected a lot of shit from her ex husband onto me and didn’t directly communicate, when she was proved wrong she’d double down. She also accused me of doing shit I didn’t do and would constantly gossip to her friend about me. That being said, it did a number on me mentally and I’ve wrestled with some angry thoughts but I’ve never joined an incel forum or tried to project my issues onto all women. I’m with a woman now who loves me and can tell I’ve been through a lot. It wasn’t easy to leave, but I’m glad I did. I was made to think I was a monster over basically being autistic.

I'm 6'2 AMAB and masc (enby but in public I'm just seen as a dude) and compliment people, masc, femme and everywhere in between almost every time I go out. I'm very self conscious and have to fight the assumption that I'm making things weird in the least awkward situations so when I say I can't remember the last time someone seemed uncomfortable or like I was trying to make a move after a compliment. I know how a lot of misogynistic "pickup" types do compliments and make sure that I never have to clarify my lack of ulterior motives. I make sure to compliment small things, like someone's hair style, an element of their make up, glasses, a piece of clothing or an outfit that comes together nicely. Even the vibe they give off. If it's a stranger I'll make it one of the last things I say before carrying on with my day so they know I'm not asking for their number or something. If they are someone I know I try to be with them while I compliment a stranger (they'll often jump in too, often with something I hadn't noticed) before I compliment them so that they know I'm just being nice and sincere for its own sake. It's a lot easier for girls and people on the femme side like femboys or less masculine gay dudes to do it without coming off weird. It feels really nice to get a compliment on something you put effort into or something that suits you. It also feels really good knowing you made someone feel seen and validated. I wish "those" cis dudes didn't ruin it for the rest of us. I have to be careful about how I phrase compliments, when and how I give them etc because I know that especially for girls they have to put up with creeps and I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Complimenting cis men is another story entirely lol. It's getting better but some guys have their guard up constantly trying not to be interpereted as gay. It's not inherently gay to tell your boi he's handsome or has a great sense of style or whatever, in fact it's statistically unlikely to be an attempt at flirting, even if the friend complimenting the other one is gay. Can we not just be nice to each other? Normalize compliments for their own sake. It feels good making people feel good about themselves. Who knows, you might make someone's day! Maybe 5 years ago I didn't know anything about gender really but during a sleepover with at a friend's place I slept in the same room as his friend who I'd just met. We got to talking about the boxes we're put in for trivial things like what bits we're born with or skin color. They opened up to me about of a fun night they had with a friend months ago where they took pics crossdressing, telling me how freeing it felt. I complimented the pics, saying something like "you rock that outfit, like seriously you look really pretty. Honestly I initially thought you were a tomboy when I met you earlier." A week later we're both chilling at the same friend's house until they leave, saying they'll be back in a bit. She came back dressed full-femme, makeup she clearly put a lot of work into, telling us she was trans, her preferred name, pronouns etc. We were the first people she came out to and there was something beautiful about being a part of that. I'm sure she'd made up her mind about her identity before we had our convo that night. I think she was testing the waters. I'd never knowingly met a trans person before then and I didn't want to put any pressure on her to identify one way or another so I just complimented her like I would anyone else. In retrospect I think she wanted me to say it for her but I was too cispilled to understand. I do think that being able to share that part of herself with someone she'd met hours earlier and getting nothing but open mindedness in return might have helped her come out sooner, to a close friend and someome she'd just met a week ago no less. I'll never know if our interaction that night helped motivate her coming out to us but it's possible. Bottom line is just treat people how you'd like to be treated. Normalize being nice for its own sake. Every relationship I've been in started as a friendship and developed from there, I'm not saying it's bad to pursue a relationship but ideally a good partner should also be a good friend, know what I mean? I'm not super attractive or anything. I just treat people like human beings and for a lot of people, particularly attractive young women, it's disturbingly common for them to be treated like sex objects, or worse yet have people give the bare minimum of respect and expect something in return. Unfortunately a lot of teen girls grow up thinking those kinds of relationships are normal, while being ostricized by slut shaming culture and pushed further away from genuine respect. My partner grew up like that and when faced with a male who wasn't immediately trying to get in her pants and just wanted to get to know her she had no idea how to feel. She had mo shortage of people who would drop everything to be with her but she wanted the friend who appreciated her for who she was and didn'tjudge the uglier parts of her past. The shit that she and other victims like her have told me ranges from pathetic and hilarious to disgusting and terrifying. Apparently even in Montreal where the sex ed is pretty alright a lot of the highly sexually active dudebros who even bother trying still don't know where the clit is. Seriously. The number of "men" who don't give a shit about anything but their own pleasure in what should be a mutually pleasurable experience, then lose all interest in their sexual partner once they get their nut is astounding and terrifying because a lot of young girls are taught that this is normal. The more we normalize positive affirmation and innocent, uplifting compliments across the board the more people will realize that they deserve respect. The more that happens the less power the kind of people who hurt my partners and friends will have. Less of them will be created because no one with a healthy self image would lure younger, vulnerable people in with faux-interest, a sense of maturity, drugs, etc then just as quickly dispose of them once they get what they want. They are products of a disgusting culture that many people are trying to keep alive and even make worse. I've seen the damage first hand, I've heard so many stories that make it hard to have faith in humanity. I guess my point is we have to be the change we want to see. We need to call creepy, misogynistic and generally hateful behavior out for what it is and make sure that we're spreading the opposite, even if it's as small as being there for your friends or normalizing affirming compliments without any expectation of reciprocation. Compliment good behaviors and beliefs, try to talk friends out of bad ones. Make sure people know how to identify misogyny and other bigotry and don't just stand by if you see it happening. Statistically most people are against this kind of behavior, statistically people are pro-trans too but where are they when the transphobes proudly bully trans people or spout hate? We need to normalize love and normalize standing against hate.

There’s no such thing as “unconditional love” if you aren’t an omnipotent being, and even then all celestials, infernal and Lovecraftian things have motives we don’t understand. Not even your own flesh and blood are safe from conditional love, if they abuse you, you’re not obligated to love them. These kinds of people have no critical thinking skills and I often wonder if these guys can even be saved even if another man tries to tell them that. Men will posture in front of other men to flex ill-gotten, “masculine confidence.”

Who would blast themselves as an incel like it's some kind of positive virrtue? Life is hard and people in general suck. That doesn't mean that the world is out to get you. You have a hard time talking to women and don't like being turned down. Congratulations, you are like the majority of people on the planet in some way. The only thing about this that sets you apart is a bizarre sense of entitlement to an affirmation of your interest in that person and by extension of your manhood.

To be honest, I can't quite identify with the trying to not act threatning when a woman pases by ig ? I don't mean it in a bad way, I'm not trying to be a jerk or something, it's kinda just that like when walking outside on a normal day, I just pass many people outside and I don't really think about how fast I'm walking when there is a woman or whatever. I'm just like, going somewhere. Of course there are exceptions like when I'm walking somewhere at night or if I'm in like a secluded area somewhere, in that case I do try to be like non threatning, because I can understand that in that situation someone may feel threatened, hell I do feel uneasy in those situations as a guy, when there's another guy walking past. I just feel like day to day, it's not really that big of an issue here in Europe. I don't know if it's cultural differences or the fact that people don't drive as much, so they are more used to it, but I feel like there's in general more of a trust in man - I don't think most woman percieve guys as a threat when they are just randomly walking on the street - I may be wrong on this, but I've never really heard anyone express that sort of a concern here.

I appreciate the dating analogy that men and women are dying of thirst - men are in a desert, women are in a swamp. I just wish any of these incels would talk to a gay guy at some point, so they can find out how many of the sucky things about their dating experiences are *actually* about women, and which ones are just as true whether you're trying to date a man or a woman.

9:03 I respectfully disagree. I was approached by a guy on the street once who asked me for directions and then said I‘m beautiful and asked for my number. I just smiled awkwardly, said “thanks“ and “no, sorry“. And that was the end of it. I‘m sure there have been women who‘ve gotten upset at that kind of interaction but I can‘t imagine it happens often. I don‘t really know why people do it, because what are the chances of some random person actually wanting to date you? But as long as you do this in a polite way without saying anything objectifying or being too pushy, I don‘t see the problem and I highly doubt a lot of men would get in trouble for doing it this way.

Hang on, a man might get the cops called on him for trying to strike up a conversation with a woman and asking her out? What the hell? How else are you supposed to do it? I hope that's just over in North America or whatever. I'm so glad I met someone and got married back when people had conversations so I don't have to deal with whatever weird shit people must have to do now to get into a relationship.

Xan didn't get the shovel TikTok. The joke wasn't that he was talking about another couple it was that he was saying all those things to his wife and then when she picked up the shovel and started walking towards him he acted like he was talking about another couple in order to avoid potentially being hit, hence why the incel dude called him a puss because he backed off.

Whether the man in the sketch was genuinely an asshole or just seemed like he was being an asshole at first wouldn't make the behavior more or less acceptable.
