MrCodeslinger I have another question, but a combat question. When doing the "Farmland Security" quest and when you go Dennett's farm, there's that rift which appears near the river, how do you beat the large spawning enemies, but, more importantly, the creature that can kill you with his insta-freeze power? I've been unable to close that rift on both easy and normal. My character's about a level 6-8 and the gear's about level 5. If you have a vid on this area and how to beat that part, it would be helpful. Thanks for the reply and the great vids.
@MrCodeslinger10 жыл бұрын
the eradicator01 Everything that spawns there is level 8. If you're having trouble, bring Viv and Solas with you, make sure they both have Dispel and use dispel on a few spawn points. You can either use them both the first round of the rift or stagger then 1 each round, depending on how long it takes you to kill stuff the cooldown might be up by the time the second round hits. Dispel will kill the demons before they even spawn. Give this a try and see how it works for you.
@theeradicator017510 жыл бұрын
That's why. Noob question: How can I see what level requirements are needed for certain quests? From my crappy playthrough, the gameplay reminds me exactly of DCUO. Once when I know how to see the level requirements needed for certain missions, I don't think I'll have much difficulty. And thanks again.

Really informative video, good job! Though I'd just like to point out something as a lot of people tend to miss it, in the Prologue where you fight your first Wraith (green slimer guy), on those stairs, if you go left at 26:18 and hop over the rocks and up onto the path on the right and head south, you can actually get to the other side of the bridge that collapsed and pick up that loot that was visible but unreachable before the cutscene, it's only gold, but every little helps, there's also some elfroot there and more gold. :)

This is really a fantastic beginner's guide for Dragon Age: Inquisition. You did an excellent job in explaining things thoroughly without exhausting anything in particular. I played DA:I on PS4 years ago but recently rerolled a new run on Xbox Series X. (Xbox gamer now and proud of it 😂) This time around I really wanted to get deep into this game. (I also played Dragon Age: Origins and really love the Dragon Age series.. Bioware did an amazing job 💯) This guide helped me with info that I didn't even know about this game the first time around. I am going to be delving into your other videos on DA:I to get even more tips on every aspect of the game that I can. I really appreciate you and the effort you put into these video guides. +Max Jaafari I'm definitely glad that you found it to be helpful. Although I never said it before, this was actually the 2nd take on this. I got done with it once before and went back to listen to it and the in-game sound effects were so loud that I couldn't hear myself at all. This one was a little better, not my finest work, but the channel had only been up for about 2 full months or so when I made it so I was definitely still learning. Looking back, doing it in smaller segments would have been the better option, easier on me and easier to upload as YT kept killing the upload after letting it run for 24+ hours to get it up. Was definitely a pain to deal with that, but a huge relief when it finally got up. Thanks for watching!

Well i generally never put in any comments but this is SO GOOD that i want to give you my personal thanks. Really well done and informative. exactly that extra info you not always get from the game guide (which is not that good tbh). Good audio and video quality as well. I personally don't see an issue as it being long, now we have all info in one go.
@MrCodeslinger8 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the kind words Bart. The audio, isn't that good. ;) I actually recorded the entire thing once, then when I went to post it I realized the in-game effects made it impossible to hear me speak and then turned around and did it again, thinking I'd fixed the problem. It was better the 2nd time through, but not as much as I would have liked it. ...and after putting almost 7 hours into recording in a single day, I just didn't have it in me to do it all over again and I wasn't the video editing guru that I am now, so I had no idea there were tools out there I could use to fix it in post production. Meh, live and learn. Glad you like the vid and that you got some good info out of it. I hope you're enjoying the game and please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!

Hey Alvin, I'm really glad to hear that you found the video to be helpful. I'm sorry for the audio issues, but I'd guess it is a KZbin thing. Just checked between 2:40:00 and 3:00:00 on both my iPad and PC and it is working for me. Sorry that I don't have a way to fix that. Thanks for watching!

+MrCodeslinger Thank you it's probably just a KZbin app thing and when I get home from work I'll check it out from Firefox thanks again I'm one of those people that have to know all the ins and outs of a game before playing so this has been helpful I'm tempted to restart the game and take advantage of all these tips I just have a couple questions Spoilers for those who haven't played the game ********** okay so I just got to sky hold and haven was destroyed so would you suggest looting all the crates and everything before haven is destroyed? or is it possible to go back and keep shuffling the items? also what class is your favorite?
@MrCodeslinger8 жыл бұрын

I love the fact that we're able to create builds with the other characters you add to your squad. Being able to switch characters on the fly is such a bonus. Not something you get from the majority of real-time Action RPG's. It's good that each character has their own backstory and lore within the game as well. --- I'm really looking forward to the next Dragon Age. I pray that BioWare obtains good writers. Far too many titles today are plagued by poor writing.

We newcomers appreciate ya brotherman, even here in 2025 lol. I was checking out the show on Netflix, and figured I may as well give the games a try. I haven't been *good* at video games since GTA 3, so I'm trying to dive back into gaming and see what I can't do. I may as well since I have quite a bit of time on my hands nowadays. Thanks ya kindly for what ya do brotherman! We appreciate you greatly

MrCodeslinger... thanks for this video. Nice of you to take time to put make this video and upload it. I'm new to the series and have progressed about 7 hrs into it. There is a lot to learn to say the least. I've only watched about 15 minutes of the video since I'm at work... I'll check it out in it's entirety this evening. Thumbs up!

MrCodeslinger It took me a few days to string 3.5 hours together but I learned quite a bit from watching this. There's a wealth of good info in your video, especially for a noob in Thedas, that is sadly lacking in the games tutorial mission. Saving as many Codex as possible until leveled up a bit more, I missed the regen potion in Haven. The War Table had me confused a bit too. Using the Tacmap to splatter demons prior to them spawning.... all things I found very helpful. Currently I'm level nine, normal difficulty, and running with Sera, Cassandra and Solas for the most part, except that Redcliff ordeal. Since Dorian invited himself along at the War table, I took all new peeps with me. Vivienne & Blackwall (haven't been to Storm Coast to meet the Bull yet). I got slaughtered a few times until after watching this I realized I hadn't level those three up yet.... LOL. A LOT easier with them using their entire bag of tricks. I'm heading out to the Storm Coast when I play next. Thanks again... subbed!

Haven't finished the video yet so I don't know if you mentioned this, but before I forget... when you pick up armor and weapons your not going to use, before you sell them check to see if they have an upgrade you want ie.. armor may have arms or legs you can remove to use on another piece or weapons may have a hilt or rune or pommel worth keeping. Sometimes you can find things well before you come across the schematics.

At 1:45:40 you state that you cannot tell individual characters to "hold position" and you can only tell them all. That is incorrect. You can tell each one to hold position. When you go into the Tactical Menu, you select a team mate. Move the "four pointy" cursor over that team mate. Then press the "A" (Xbox controller) or equivalent. The team mate will now "hold position" at that point. You can also tell them to move and hold position at a new location. To do this, all you have to do is: In Tactical mode, select a team mate. Move the cursor to a new desired location. Press "A" to tell he/she to move. Then immediately press "A" again, to tell he/she to hold when at that new position. You will see a "shield type icon" on the ground. Hopefully I explained this clearly. :) Please respond, so that I know this has been received. Thank you.

+davidsimon5555 You are absolutely correct. My general frustration with Hold Position was bleeding through. I'll refer you to everyone's complains on the Dead Hand puzzle for more info. Had tons of people complaining that hold position was not working for them. I'm sorry if that part was confusing, that was NOT my intention. Thanks for watching!
@davidsimon55559 жыл бұрын
MrCodeslinger Thanks for replying. No apology needed, that part was not confusing to me. I understood you perfectly. :) Unfortunately, in this video, you did not fully understand how "hold position" works in DAI. You could hold individual team players since the game came out in Nov 2014. I feel that many people that had problems, was because they were not doing it correctly. To be fair, the game does not make everything obvious. :) I would also suggest, you make an amendment to this video, to help your viewers. Keep up the good work.
