Nice video, but you might want to know that those Amuchina tablets are not really water purification tablets, they're a disinfectant, turns water into it and then you can clean items, fruit and vegetables with it in order to remove the bacteria. It is however possible to be used as water purification tablets, but only in an "emergency situation" as written on the instructions, one tablet in 15 liters of water (not 1.5L), as it is noxious if ingested. Still have to admit those Wurstel look very tasty!

Nice vid gundog. i have a top tip for cooking in a can if ya wanna try it. Take any wrapping off, bash the side in to make a big dent. When the steam inside begins to push it out, with a cloth give it a shake (to stir) & back over the heat, then agan half way thru. Then when the dents not quite fully out (so the contents doesnt spray out) crack the top, rest a couple of mins then open fully. I've found (usually) it pours out better & hasnt caught as much where direct heat has constantly been. :D

Just so you know, whenever chocolate looks like that, it's not because the chocolate has gone bad. When chocolate gets down to freezing and then warms up again, some sugars crystallize on the surface of the chocolate. I found out about that when I had a job filling vending machines. People would claim the chocolate went bad if we let it sit too long in the van during the winter time. So it's just indicative that the ration went through some heating and cooling cycles.

Your Army unit must have been selected to field test that Top secret new piece of equipment the US Army came up with then. The EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle. +Guido Santoni that would have been fun to try. that is one reason I always try to get info and tips from people that actually used the stuff in the field. Cheers

you are welcome. if you want to try again italian MRE i suggest you to find the module with the small bottle of cordial. anyway, here's the recipe: 1. Make some coffe. No need to add sugar but if you have cordial add it; 2. Soak the "biscotto dolce" inside the coffee and put them in a container (a mess tin will do the trick) making a layer; 3. Cover the cookye layer with condensed milk. At this point you may add chocolate chips if you want; 4. Do the points 2 and 3 as long as you want or at least as long you run out of ingredients; 5. Let the thing stay for some time in a cool place; 6. Enjoy it! Another trick that i used to love is to cook the meat inside the sauce left from the 1st course.

Thanks for the video. Again, I love this stove, even better than the Russian one. Very hearty meals.

great video but regarding the chocolate the white is not oxidisation it happens due to heat cycles for example it warms up but not hot enough to melt and cools down and the more this happens the quicker it goes white

Anyone know where one could buy the tinned food in the Italian, French, or German MRE’s? That is, to buy just the mains that are in the small tins or foil trays. Thanks.

So... You've been to Italy multiple times but you get ravioli and tortellini mixed up?

*he heats up the rice salad* Oh, and by the way the wurstels really do not go with the tortellini, lol Had a few good chuckles here and there. Nice vid.

Yeah, if I had it to do over again. The guy I got it was German, great guy but neither of us had a clue of what went with what or how. Perhaps next time if I get another. Cheers

Hello, I remember the Cordial Brandy they gave us and it was great, as well as the chocolate who was really good grade. Ration K was horrible....We ate it once and it was one step before food poisoning...
