Thank you so much for this! We had been looking at a nasty dirty shelf for years, and although we have a slightly different model, the instructions worked perfectly! When reassembling we decided to just not replace the glass clips so we can just lift out the glass without completely disassembling the whole unit, but we did save the clips in a labeled zip lock bag just in case.

I wanted to share what I just learned from a Samsung repair tech. The removal of the glass is actually much easier than following the steps in this video as the removal of the entire unit is not necessary. While the Samsung repair tech was repairing the ice maker I asked him about the glass shelf. He told me that the two plastic clips in the back of the glass shelf are only there to hold the glass in place during shipping/delivery and can be removed as that's their only purpose. He removed them for me by just popping them off. Then I removed the produce bins and gently pressed up on the glass from the underneath in the back and was able to remove the glass easily by sliding it out of the clip that’s in the front. I cleaned it and the area around it and replaced it with ease. Super easy. I would suggest waiting until the glass has reached room temperature before washing it. I did not replace the plastic clips. Good luck.

I also couldn't sqeeze the two clips on the underside to get it to pop out from the water filter mechanism.....so those broke as well. Lol. Got the glass and crevice underneath it cleaned so it's all good! I do appreciate this video, though. Been driving me nuts trying to figure out how to get this darn shelf off to clean it.

Great video. Unfortunately, no matter how much pressure I put on the front clips, the shelf wouldn't come loose. Eventually, the right clip broke off. On the positive side, after I got the shelf out, got the glass out and cleaned it really well, I left the back two clips off so I can now remove the glass whenever I want/need to clean again. On the negative side: This is definitely a design flaw - one that (I found out) Samsung takes no responsibility for. We called the Samsung Customer Service and received everything except customer service. They sent manual pages (those pages missing from the manual I got with the fridge) that shows Mr Gizno's removal process. But when I told them that this process doesn't work and that I was afraid to put more pressure for fear of breaking off a tab, the CS rep said I need to try again. When I told him that the extra pressure had broken a tab, he said he was sorry and told me to hire a handyman. No amount of talking would move them. This is definitely the last Samsung appliance I ever buy.

I found this video last year when I needed to clean my 11 month-old Samsung Refrigerator, and was at my wits' end after checking out the owner's manual, which - as you mention in the video doesn't even mention how to take this bottom shelf out. I tried to remember how to do it again this year (after a houseguest spilled lobster juice all over the bottom shelf😠), couldn't remember, then remembered I'd saved this video. Just watched it again and it all came back. I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. I had a fridge at our previous home that required replacing when little plastic clips similar to the ones you show us how to avoid breaking in this video after I tried to strongarm the glass away from the plastic frame. WOW, so helpful. I gave up the last time I cleaned the refrigerator. A couple of other helpful comments. If you are going to clean that may as well clean the shelves on the doors. Once they are removed it was easier to pull this shelf out and also put it back in. I tried the thumb or finger push but could never get it to pop up so I gave up last cleaning. This time I had my wife GENTLY push down and then pull up while I had those two buttons pressed in. It came up right away. ALSO not mentioned but by doing it your way I also cleaned the side of the refrigerator where this slid in. So taking it out and spending some more time helps you truly clean that refrigerator. I great how to video. Really appreciate the slow step by step explanations!

Hey Mr. Gizmo. Thanks for your helpful instructions! Briefly, my neighbor rang my doorbell this morning explaining the bottom shelf in her Samsung needed cleaning but was stubborn as to its removal. Now I know why. To make a long story short, after struggling with a manual that was not at all clear, I found myself watching your video. Needless to say, it worked! One cautionary note, for future "DIYers" ...at least on this model, the back clips were absent. Instead, there were slots in the front corners for the glass to slide into the frame leaving the back of the glass panel more free to move. Caution should be taken in on removal or re-installation least it fall out of the frame and break. Once again, thanks!

This was a real help. I kept looking at the shelf figuring that has to be be a simple way - I have to be missing something - but after looking at Samsung web site I realized this was a real poorly designed item to remove a simple shelf which you have to beleive will be removed several time for cleaning. After watching this video, I was able to manage the project. Once removed the clips - I did not put back in, so the glass can easily now be removed for cleaning.. The squeezing of the clips to remove from the water filter housing device was absolutlety ridiculous as far as how much pressure you have to apply - but once you know that it will work - keep trying and it will come up. Would have been nice if you could apply pliers to that area - but does not seem to be fit for pliers to be used. Thanks again - appreciate the video. p.s I had tried to just push up the corner plugs from the bottom - but you could not get the right pressure to allow and was afraid I was going to break something s- reverted to removing the whole shelf as the video shows.

We have used this video every time we’ve cleaned our fridge. My kids keep spilling stuff in the fridge that gets down in between the glass and plastic shelf. Terrible Samsung design but lifesaver of a video!!! Thanks!❤

Your video instructions were clear and easy to follow.I went from frustration to "easy-peasy" thanks to this video! (I'm a 73 year old woman and was able to do this alone) The biggest mess I made was removing a full bottle of soy sauce and setting it on my granite and it tipped over.....oh Lord, dark liquid seeped into every crevice of my kitchen drawers, mats and floors!!!

You never know when it's 230 in the morning and your mind wishes you knew how to clean seemingly impossible sections of your fridge... and you go to KZbin and right there in front of you is someone who took the time to make a clear video explaining exactly how to do it! So now it's 316am... and I have gotten yhe hamburger blood that dripped and dried in my fridge 2 weeks ago cleaned out and my fridge looks good as new! I so appreciate people taking the time to teach us things!
