I just bought one of these 2 years ago and have been putting off cleaning under this shelf (poor design!!!) because I could not easily remove this glass shelf. I still cant get the clips over the wheel to come off. I dont need it to clean the glass. Thanks for showing me this glass shelf/clip design. I will NOT be putting these clips that hold the glass back in so I can clean it easier in the future. The shelf is fully supported all the way around and gravity will hold it just fine. We even cut small strips of paper towel to act as flanges to soak up goo in the future and make cleaning easier. What a nightmare. Either leave off the clips for easy removal OR silicone the glass permanently to prevent goo from seeping underneath it. All the other shelves are solid in the frames. Im sure it had something to do with size of glass and transit breakage. Dont make it My problem. Design it better Samsung. Thanks.

Just watched the video, EXTREMELY helpful! However, on the newer model of this refrigerator (purchased new this year), the first two tabs you discuss are changed slightly. The outermost tabs are actually not the ones you push on, but rather a tab *behind* these outer most ones. It took us a few tries to get it, but you have to get behind the outer tabs (thin flat-head screwdrivers worked great), then push in on the 'hidden' tabs, and then you *really* need a second person to pull up on the shelf while pushing down on the center support/filter housing. After that it was spot on to your video.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I also had a spill and just general gunk that accrues over time and wanted to do a deep clean today. My initial assessment lead me to prying the clips that hold the glass in place;however, age and prior mistakes have thought me that if it doesn’t pry loose with gentle provoking that it likely isn’t the thing to do. The clips to both remove the entire unit as well as how to remove the glass were a HUGE time and frustration saver. Thank you again!

@@divusiulius7539 No, I was asking whether you meant to use the word desperate. You said disparate.
@divusiulius75396 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I was feeling frustrated and desperate, looking for an answer to the problem of getting the glass shelf out of my refrigerator to clean it without breaking the plastic tabs that held it in. I did misspell the word earlier in the body of the message. That was a simple typo. There's nothing more frustrating than trying to manage a piece of expensive equipment and the User's Manual offers absolutly no help. ergo, my dilemma with my $1500.00 refrigerator was solved by this KZbin Video.

Just wanted to say how appreciative my wife and I are for our video. We were getting pretty frustrated with removing the glass on this shelf and would have ended breaking the tabs and spending hours trying to figure out how to do this. THANK YOU!!!!!

Thank you for this informative video. I did this process about a year ago and forgot the details and you refreshed my memory about how that back clip comes out and the two clips up front. Worked like a charm. For others caution, as the video says DO NOT just pull the glass up when you get the clips out, you need to lift and slide the glass out of the small inlet that it goes into, otherwise risk snapping the glass. Gentleness is the key to each step. Do not manhandle anything. That seems to be the natural instinct. MEN... RESIST!

🤠I called Samsung with the same problem, and they referred me to your video. Your video was most enlightening.The overall design must have changed because all three tabs are part of the frame for the shelf. I had no problem breaking the tabs off to remove the glass, clean and reinstall. Unless the veggies develop an anti-gravity system, the shelf will remain safely in place and can be cleaned as necessary. Ken
