Shout out for the review. Interesting point, 72% of cars bought in SA in 2023 were over R500k. It's not worth China investing in selling the J2/Tiggo2 etc, they're in the right marker for these SUVs and that's why. Probably long term they might look into it for the rest of the Africa market

That’s true , our market is really into SUV’s but despite that I still think there is money to be made in the hatchback segment , cars like the Polo Vivo and Suzuki’s prove it every month even though the real money is in cars over 500K

Remember the Chinese ones are imported pre-assembelled, so you pay the logistics of each vehicle, whereas the VW model is to assemble here because they have history of selling. The plan would be do this later for all the OEMs, ie BAIC is building a warehouse now for assembling because they've seen the sales

With the Jaecoo J7, its easier to get the Glacier FWD model. You save R70K and you are only loosing minus the heated steering, AWD and privacy glass. It's the pick of the bunch and it sells for R600k basically which is R10k less than the Tiggo 7 Pro Max AWD.

Great video bro, the Chinese are really taking over with their great tech, and great value. This looks really premium in and out, if they don’t have any maintenance issues in future I think a lot of manufacturers should be worried about the Chinese taking over.

I also like the Chery. Especially interior quality. The sides of the inside of the boot is carpeted in the Tiggo 8 but plastic in the Jaecoo. Although remember this Jaecoo is AWD whereas the Tiggo 8 that's R669k is the front wheel drive. A AWD Tiggo 8 is R730k.
