Yoda vs Darth Sidious [4K HDR] - Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Yoda faces his greatest nemesis within the force, in a vision that could well determine the deepest secrets in the Galaxy - Taken from the "Youda's Journey" 4K HDR film cut in this massive Clone Wars project.
A full 4K HDR (and 1080p) upscale of the entire series, also taking all but 9 episodes and recutting them seamlessly into feature films for every single arc. Have a favorite arc? Order 66? The Rako Hardeen Deception Arc? Mortis? The Nightsisters? Yoda's Journey? Maul's Revenge? This project converts the entire TV show into the definitive theatrical experience, perfect for your nice 4K HDR theater setup.I have also reordered the episodes to fit a (mostly) chronological order based on the entire series official order list. This fixes many, many continuity problems for those who get confused when they watch it in viewing order.
There are some minor alterations to the official episode order to make these arcs work as films, but any changes to the official chronological order are small (Putting Maul's Season 4 and 5 arcs into a single epic 3 hour cut, moving the lone episode "A Friend in Need" up a bit in the timeline to fit with the Heroes on Both Sides arc. Making Cad Bane's seasons 1-3 arc into a single supercut). The rest of the alterations follow the official continuity order (2 season 1 and 2 episodes are now part of the extended Clone Wars Theatrical Film Cut due to them being part of the Battle of Christophsis, ect. ect.) and greatly enhance the show's viewing experience.

Actually Yoda has always struggled containing Sidious lightning and the force clash end in a stalemate due to a force shockwave. In ep 3. You can ser Yoda struggling and then it becomes a stalemate. Yoda is a better duelist since Sidious hate LS and use them to mock the Jedi. Sidious is stronger in the force

Even though this is a vision, this marks the only time in ALL of Star Wars that we see clones face off against Dooku. This also marks the only time in Star Wars where Sidious and Anakin clash, even if it's only a couple seconds. It also marks the only time in TCW show where Yoda and Dooku are in the same room. Yoda was the last sane and true Jedi Master in an era where the Jedi had become severely politicized. While other Jedi fell victim to hubris and arrogance, Yoda remained wise and prudent, and attempted to guide his fellows in the obvious darkness. His only failure was being unable to truly see through Darth Sidious's disguise, but even the people who knew Sidious the closest, his master and Anakin, didn't really realize his true intentions. And in this arc, Yoda becomes enlightened on a higher level than even he had achieved in his long life. Which is beautiful to see, and explains his greater wisdom in ESB.

No Yoda was not exempt from these shortcomings. As GRANDMASTER all these fallen jedi during his time are on HIM. PALPATINE beating them all is on YODA! The hubris, denial, complacency trickles down not up. If the council ever lost their way, which they did, the head MUST be included. You occasionally get monsters like Maul or Sion. Force powers need heavy concentration a hard thing to pull off when you're in intense pain. Plus, you lose power by losing pieces of your body. Dooku would effectively be a non-combatant from the moment he lost his arms onward.

Grandmaster Yoda perfected Form Four combat stance that fits him perfectly! He was undoubtedly one of the few most powerful Jedi Grandmasters in his era and many more gens to come (Rey - exaggeration). He was compassionate, kind, and skillful (Qui Gon Jinn was wiser though) and with empathy, Grandmaster Yoda taught his students and grand students in a humble way. He is both poweful and adorable.

I think Ataru Form is the most deadly lightsaber form when utilized by a true grandmaster of the style, but that’s just my opinion. The whole idea of this form is attacking so fast and from so many various angles that your opponent has no choice but to remain on the offense, and not only that, but the first minor slip up in said defense means their instant demise.

The coolest part of season 5 so far for me is seeing how the Republic slowly turned into the Empire from the designs of the buildings, fleets, droids, and attire. The Jedi look ancient when you contrast them with what would soon be the Empire. No one saw it coming tho except for a few.

What I like from this scene is that it shows just how strong Palpatine is Not only is he a match to Yoda with a lightsaber, but when Anakin arrives he actually charges them both and got the upper hand. And just like ROTS he and Yoda are blasted away by their force duel, only this time, Sidious's height played against him but he still manages to recover, unlike Yoda in ROTS (not shitting on Yoda though).

One of my favorite scenes from all the Clone Wars, after the one with Maul and Ahsoka where Maul tries to get Ahsoka to join him to defeat Sidious-there are parallels between the two, as they’re pivotal moments where Sidious could have been stopped were it not for Jedi (Yoda, Ahsoka) errors in judgment, IMHO.

if i would describe Sidious’ fighting style, I’d say he’s a practitioner mainly of Shii Cho, Niman, Jar’Kai, and Juyo, elements of Ataru sprinkled in here and there for his crazy flips. Shii Cho because he seems to make a lot of broad sweeping and cutting strikes kind to Shii Cho and even the lunges and thrusts he does are more akin to Shii Cho than Makashi. Niman because of his integration of Force attacks into his sword play as well as the usage of Jar’Kai which Niman has has roots in. He uses physical strikes in combat as well something Ataru promotes, and Juyo is him going full intense like he did against Maul at the end of their duel on Mandalore.

It's mainly Juyo. Juyo itself being composed of the most deadly and offensive elements of all the other forms is a factor. With these combined, an extremely unpredictable and volatile form makes up Sidious's fighting style, coupled with his immense mastery of the dark side. Whenever he fights Yoda, Yoda is mainly the aggressor since Ataru is in base offensive and the grandmaster is quite agile . Sidious on the other hand keeps up with dexterity against him, defensively.

I love the Clone Wars, and I love me some Yoda vs Palpatine action. HOWEVER, this scene highlights the biggest issue I have with TCW, and that is how much it messes with established lore. There are many examples, but I will focus on the one presented in this clip and this season (6): They allowed Yoda to see WAY too much of what was actually happening and what will happen in the future. In this season, this guy literally saw: Order 66 being carried out by the clones Anakin fighting Obi-Wan Alderaan exploding Padme being choked out Palpatine electrocuting Luke Anakin beheading Dooku And even fought flipping Sidious who LITERALLY said “why not let (Anakin) die and stop all that I will do” And after having these revelations and returning to the council, Yoda just tells Mace and Kenobi… he didn’t see much…? Like bruh, you got MAJOR spoilers for what was to come and a flipping youngling could’ve deciphered who the Sith Lord was as well as who to be wary of (Anakin), yet you didn’t think to mention ANY of that to ANYONE or follow up on any of those visions?? This has bothered me ever since the season was released, and it’s something the Clone Wars has also done with other established lore as well. I still love the show so much and it is in my top tier of Star Wars content, but sometimes I feel that Dave Filoni gets a bit too out of control with his creative license, and also sometimes confuses “rhyming poetry” with downright “plagiarizing poetry”. TLDR: Yoda should (and would) have definitely followed up on these visions and it’s really out of character for him not to.

Dude are you high? From all the things you said he only saw order 66 and Anakin killing Dooku (which wasn't a vision of the future, just a coincidence in Sidious's nightmare) all the others never appeared at all. And the "let him die" never made reference to Anakin's importance in his plans, he was talking of the situation, if it was Jar Jar the one being in danger the line would had been the same, the point was making Yoda sacrifice his moral code. And when he returns to the council he obviously says that cause he can't tell what he saw or learnt, he says all the truth he can reveal and no more, or he could change the future against the will of the force "the clone wars are already lost, but I found a way to archive the eternal victory, not in the clone wars, but in eternity" obviously talking of the future Skywalkers. Besides, when taking action to prevent smt seen in a vision from happening has been successful? It's often that what makes thing go as feared (Padme's death) no matter who you are the force will mock you(the only exception was in Ahsoka's vision of Padme dying, and tbh I don't want to take that into account cause that episode is pointless)

Honestly, I agree. There are lots of problems with the Clone Wars TV show but season 6 was a flawed season. Imma tackle the thing about Inhibitor Chips. I'm pretty sure that the Jedi would do their own investigation in it or at least Yoda would after one of their OWN was gunned down if not after this arc full of visions of Clones gunning down Jedi. The Chips were not a good addition imo and left a lot of plot holes. Now I can understand the excuse that there is comradery over three years but the problem with this show is they have every Clone be a Rex 2.0. Not every Clone is going to disobey orders. Not every Clone is going to be loyal to the Jedi.

They saw thousands of their brothers be executed or decommissioned because of Kaminoans like Nala Se, Lama Su, and Orun Wa. They are Soldiers of the Republic and Order 66 was a legal order. Think about it, if you were a military Soldier and you received orders from the planet to arrest or execute your General, you would follow that order or you would risk execution at the bare minimum. There was a legal report that the Jedi have betrayed the Republic. Additionally, a lot of the Jedi were bad Generals and Commanders who would leave their men behind to accomplish assignments without hesitation, and this put bitter thoughts into many of the Clone veterans. Additionally, with the amount of casualties that the ones underwent, most of them were fresh shinies by the end of the war. They are easily more loyal to the Chancellor than their Jedi who they just met.

@@RyanTheDark I have a sense of honor and this thing called common sense, so no, If they had proven to be loyal to the republic hundreds of times, I wouldn't execute the men or women I fought with for years without real evidence of them being actual enemies, I would arrest them until everything is clear(but that wasn't the order, was it?) The Alpha Arc troopers did things right. If this legal report was the word of the supreme chancellor, who all of the sudden is wearing dark robes, has a burned face and is clearly looking suspicious, I would at least think before doing anything, only having the chips would justify someone trusting 100% in a guy like that, even if it was the chancellor. Also, It's not like clones don't have any experience with sith, they have fought or at least heard of Dooku, Ventress, Maul, and Savage, they might not be able to recognize a sith, but they are not stupid either In canon we don't have Jedi being dicks, other than Pong Krell (doesn't count) and DICK-adi Mundi, because it's not the Jedi nature leaving men behind, that and their honor sense is what makes them questionable military leaders, as Tarkin and Anakin agreed on(even though the latest one wouldn't do it either). That's true, but those shinies didn't receive the order directly, the order had to pass through the clone commander or captain first in every case, who happens to be the veteran with the closest relationship of brotherhood with the Jedi general/commander. I recognize and respect a republic commando fan when I read him, and while I know Karen Traviss books are quite good(Hard contact is among my favorites) they don't show the Jedi properly in some parts, the EU tried to be unnecessary edgy and dark with the Jedi a few times, when the movies and TCW left clear that, if there was someone in the galaxy who cared about the clones, was them, not the senate, not the kaminoans, not the chancellor, only the Jedi(most of the time, you will always find exceptions and morons like Mundi here and there)
