Fun fact: on some Russian servers it's actually specified that if there is no head of a department, seniors MUST take over. Except for sec, warden takes charge there

I kinda hate that. Most people think that seniors are SMARTER than their heads. But on Corvax lore they aren't so fine then.

Oh yeah, this shift. As Vivyan Llora, I just want to say two things. One, I was Station Engineer, not a TA. Two, I was panicking when I singuloosed. I got flash-converted and left in mantis with no commands, and I swear I had looked for the other revs for a good 30 minutes without finding anyone. I know Revs really shouldn't commit mass-sabo, but at that point the round had been going for so long I decided to say "Fuck It." And thanks for taking a more MRP approach with me. I probably should move on to Salamander, but I've resisted using Discord at all for this long, and I don't want to break my streak. You were a great CE. And yeah, the Seniority comment was a bit more in-character. But simultaneously, you did have far more experience than me.

Im surprised an LRP rev round didnt immediately escalate to open warfare. But maybe the CE is just too far removed to see most of it. Interesting position to be in though, where youre the "CE" but not really the target so you get left alone

I think main problem with revs is that if you hear flash there is basicaly no other explanation than that its rev so it makes it only asumpion

If I got nickles for every time I went SSD as an engineer and came back to singulo being loose and me being the first to notice since i went SSD in an engineering room... I'd have two nickles, which isn't a lot but it is weird it has happened twice. Anyways hi I was Az-Shei that round! It was nice seeing you in game! Honestly the funniest part to me in the shift was when I was looking for things to do so I was building up the Singularity emitter thing just to figure out how it functions exactly since I never messed with it before. And you call out over the radio that you plan to build it. And I just went like: "uhh I've actually already started on it..." and you went like "oh looks like you're way ahead of me!" When in reality I was just making it out of boredom and curiosity! XP Also me being really worried for your safety because there was a swarm of revs near evac killing command and since you were wearing all of CE's gear I was scared they'd kill you on sight so I tried warning you specifically of that which you can even see in the vid with me over the radio near the end. :P

@@Liltenhead Yeah I am CE quite frequently and I think I've only been attacked by Revs twice, for some reason Revs just leave CE alone if they are chill.

@@willzile1 I think its because without someone working on engineering their sabotages could wipe themselves out. Sabotages also keeps CE distracted as they fix them. No one left to fix atmos/keep the power on can lead to the entire station including the revs dying. So I can imagine CE tends to be left for the last kill due to Mutually Assured Destruction(M.A.D) if CE dies early and CE generally speaking being too busy to bother Revs in most rounds, making them a non threat.

at 8:00 i was the senior physician sam. the priest was a head rev and we were discussing how to get cmos hypo pen, as i had 2 full jugs of unstable mutagen in my backpack.

I once was a rev engineer. And instead of sabotaging the grav gen or cutting wires, i started sabotaging the security and command comms. And the camera servers of departments that where fully converted. It took them like over half an our to repair coms. But at that point most of command was already dead without sec knowing

Letting each shift decide on its own if the senior ought to be the CE seems reasonable enough. Honestly no need to make a policy around that; just go with what the team that shift wants to do! :D

I play MRP alot and one time when I was HoP, communication was super sparse and since there was the slightest hint of revs, security went balistic and wanted to mindshield everyone. To my knowledge its actually illegal under space law to mindshield crew if you dont know they are 100% revs (though its a grey area as space law only considers implantation of prisioners). Basically it was me yelling at security personnel and the captain to follow space law better for the entire round.

i do agree that the gamemodes need to be a bit more "hidden" or so to speak from the player. it is way too easy to guess (even if sometimes the guess is wrong). revs for example could have more variety of ways to convert people like maybe getting people to eat some medicine or sneaking something in their pockets? i dunno, but more ways to do stuff is something this game lacks for now.

Seniors should be specified to be reserve command, I think. Especially for sec. They really need some kind of Sergeant kind of rank because if HoS is dead they lose all frontline leadership entirely because Warden can't leave brig except for dire emergencies.

I don't personally like the idea of always having a chain of succession. Especially since some departments like service and cargo don't have a system like that, so it feels inconsistent to me.

@@Liltenhead It's less about the chain of succession and more about who's responsible and who has the authority to do certain things. If service pretty much never even sees HoP, unless they come to have a drink or eat, pretty much don't need any kind of department head at all, cargo actually does. Cargo actually needs to break the law just to function and QM's job is to talk Sec out of arresting everyone in the department pretty much. Cargo techs literally have nothing to do besides stealing everything that's not nailed down and miners have to buy illegal weapons to just not die during expeditions. They can technically ask for a permit, but come on, what kind of HoS in their right mind is going to write a weapon permit for the whole department? When QM is not present, the entire cargo pretty much has to be managed by cargo techs because significantly more experienced miners don't have any time for that. Having an entry-level job being responsible for a whole department is not a good idea.

Well seniors are like teachers but that role requires more hours, so you kinda expected to be more knowledgeable and reliable in doing your job in department. Given that most of the times people will be more willing to give dep. seniors (or warden in case of sec) command position because you're more experienced player or whatever. People commonly think that senior is something like 2nd in command of department / right hand man of the Dep.Head which is kinda true most of the time.

@@Kfo221 Yeah but besides the times I've seen seniors make stupid mistakes (guess we all do?) it's okay as long as you keep in mind two things We could be the traitor. So it shouldn't be automatic We should mostly worry about teaching newbies, so if lots of interns are there or latejoin we might be busy. I'd wait at least to see if the actual CE shows up before you promote a Senior, as happened here which turned out fine. PS. Unrelated but I stole the actual CEs boots (which was my objective) while teaching an assistant how to hack doors. It was amazing
